Hi Plumm; I hate to say this, but I think Coach Fran is a good offense minded coach. If he would hire a really good defensive co-ordinator, he would do a good job. You just can't believe a thing he says. He's a real con man. Did you see the article in the Star-Telegram about his son? I think I would give the son a chance before I hired Fran. I sincerely hope ya'll get your problems taken care of, as you are my second favorite team. Hang in there. GO FROGS!!!! GO MEAN GREEN!!!!

Better teams will not schedule them!! Texas Tech has backed out of a game with TCU next year. I guess they want to wait till they think TCU has a bad year. GO FROGS!!!! GO MEAN GREEN!!!!

Hey PlummMeanGreen Like I said, I have always enjoyed your posts. I think we have a few things in common. I was born and raised in Weatherford. My folks still live there. When I was about 23 years old, I moved to Denton and was a police officer there for about 20 years. Thats when I became a fan of Mean Green football. This included the Hayden Fry years. I joined the Mean Green Club and was active in supporting the team. As a Denton Police officer, I wanted a degree in Criminal Justice and North Texas or TCU didn't offer the course work I needed at night. So I drove from Denton to Dallas almost every night and finally got my degree from Dallas Baptist University. Only trouble is, they don't have a football team. Just about the time that I moved to Fort Worth, the Mean Green started playing Div II football. Thats when I started going to TCU games here in Fort Worth. The Mean Green still has a place in my heart. They are my second favorite team. And, that is one reason I lurk on this board. I'm glad I asked about you, cause I really missed your posts. Yes, he is available. He has applied for the coaching position at UNLV. I really believe he could turn this program around. And he could do it in ONE year. BUT, he would stay about three total years, and go to bigger and better things. GO FROGS!!!! GO MEAN GREEN!!!!

The football team at the University of North Texas doesn't win because it doesn't believe it can win. Coach Dodge doesn't know how to change the mind-set of the team. You need a new coach that understands this, and will change the thinking of the players. Give them a winning attitude. Dennis Francione is good at this, and he is available. Of course, once he gets you turned around, he's gone to bigger and better things. Then, you have to grab a coach that will keep the winning mind-set and continue on your winning ways. But, that is easy once they are winners. I really think that if Coach Dodge could do this, you guys would be a really good team. I just don't think he knows how. GO FROGS!!!! GO MEAN GREEN!!!!

In 1997 TCU had one win. That was against rival SMU. The next year, we played in the Sun Bowl and beat USC. That was the difference between Coach Sullivan and Dennis Francione and crew. It doesn't necessarily take three or four years to turn a team around. GO FROGS!!!! GO MEAN GREEN!!!!

I think that college coaches should be given enough time for THEIR RECRUITS to become at least juniors, if not seniors. That is the only way to determine if their recruiting and coaching is going to pay off. To let him go after this year would be premature. Look how young this team is. One more year, and if there is not a major improvement, then it will be time. If you let him go this year, we basically START OVER before we know what we were going to have. THEN, we have to wait 2 or 3 years with the new coach before we can expect any progress. ARE YOU CRAZY???????? GO FROGS!!!! GO MEAN GREEN!!!!

I have came to Denton (Fouts) and worn Mean Green gear several times. My number one school is TCU. My number two school is UNT. I hope no one thinks of me as a douche. GO FROGS!!!! GO MEAN GREEN!!!!
