  1. That is some great video of those SMU admins sitting there looking at the envelopes with their own handwriting on them.
  2. I changed by season ticket location this year. I am now in Section E row 16 seats 20-something (I need to look again). Any GMG.com members in the area?
  3. In the larger picture, it is just one game. But this should be a win and I think a loss here does not bode well for the rest of the season. On the local front, this is a big game. Losing to SMU would essentially put us at #3 in local recruiting behind TCU and SMU. We are a large school - it is past time to start acting like one.
  4. I would settle for a game against Houston or Rice there.
  5. I heard about this last week. The fact that the police were called kept most of us laughing for the rest of the day. I think there should be a memorial patch: the new Eagle logo with a white squirrel hanging from its talons...
  6. I believe I mentioned the Think Green signs a couple of weeks ago. I even suppress the urge to publicly roast the person (or toast) the person who put two on the lawn of the funeral home... The official funeral home of the Mean Green is ....
  7. I got my car flag at the cookout.
  8. For those who do not share my Cajun upbringins Translates to "Now this is more like it"

  10. I renewed my season tickets early - within the first week they were available - but requested a location change for seats. At the cookout, my tickets were not ready but I was told soon. I'm still waiting. Anyone else in this boat with me?
  11. My personal preference would be a plague of locust or frogs, but rain would be acceptable as well.
  12. Great article. Nice to hear that someone thinks we are making progress. The only thing missing from that article is a mention of the BCS money payouts.
  13. Cable is a black hole in Denton. DirectTV or Dish is the only way to go!
  14. Here are some numbers: I took the ranking of each school in each conference to get a total, then divided by the number of schools in the conference to get an average (rounded to one decimal): So SEC = 39.3 = 472 / 12 teams SEC 39.3 BIG 12 39.9 ACC 40.8 PAC-1O 41.1 BIG TEN 42.2 BIG EAST 54.5 MOUNTAIN WEST 56.3 WAC 77 C-USA 85.2 MAC 89.7 SUN BELT 105.5 Fairly close to their conference ratings. I may make it a project to track this during the season!
  15. Well, I just went back to the Rumor Mill site and they are reporting a "false alarm". Never mind!
  16. http://www.kstp.com/article/stories/S18242.html?cat=7 From this site: http://www.profootballtalk.com/rumormill.htm POSTED 10:47 a.m. EDT, August 16, 2006 FAVRE RETIRING TODAY? The early indications based on our discussions with league sources are that Favre will announce his retirement from the NFL at a Wednesday press conference. As we write this one, we're trying hard not to pull one of those "Favre will retire, unless he doesn't" routines. Instead, our goal is merely to share the information that we currently have. This isn't a report that he will retire, and if he does retire we won't claim "as first reported on PFT". Our goal at this point is only to inform. So here's what we know -- a response from one member of the organization to a direct question regarding whether Favre is calling it quits today did not have the "No way in hell!" or "I'm looking into this right now!" quality that would be expected upon hearing that The Franchise is walking away in the middle of training camp. Favre went back and forth in the offseason regarding whether to return for another year of football. Though the team was under the impression for most of the offseason that Favre was indeed coming back, Peter King of Sports Illustrated reporting earlier this week that Favre did not make a final decision until he heard former NFL quarterback Phil Simms explain on Sirius NFL Radio that Favre should play as long as he is able to play. The abrupt decision, if he does indeed retire, would come after a preseason game in which Favre got the potato sack treatment from the Chargers' front seven, due in large part to a young, inexperienced offensive line that is learning a new blocking scheme. Taking over for Favre would be 2005 first-rounder Aaron Rodgers. The move also likely would put the Packers in the market for a veteran quarterback. Kerry Collins is the most recognizable name on the shelf. Again, we're not saying that Favre is retiring. But the signs are surely pointing in that direction.
  17. Brett Favre has called a press conference at Lambeau Field at 11:30. Speculation is that he may be announcing his retirement! I hope that is not the case after everything he put the Packers through in the off-season.
  18. I saw a great use of it yesterday. It was on a poster on campus and used the format of the NT battle flag. Instead of the star, it used the new SOW logo. Very sharp looking.
  19. You are, but it's just because we are watching you.... Just kidding, you can only see your own warning level.
  20. $5,000. My wife called a couple of weeks ago when she first saw it.
  21. What is it about OU and car dealerships? http://www.tulsaworld.com/sportsStory.asp?...Sp_B8_Adria5268
  22. The shield one is sharp. I get the feeling that most of the ULM fans aren't too wild about the white helmet idea.
  23. He was just getting ready for his tryout with the Bengals...
  24. Found this link on ULMs fanboard: http://geauxulm.com/Newsninterv/2006/6-26-06-new_logos.htm Apparently this is the helmet design being pushed by Weatherbie. The stylized Warhawk head (http://www.ulm.edu/gowarhawks/white/head.jpg) on a white helmet.
