They did lose Ryan Wedel (15 pts/game in 2008) to Drake. Not sure what impact that had on the team.

Would it still be fine if it was Johnny Jones suspending Eric Tramiel or Adam McCoy for a key game this late in the season? It's easier to approve of Coach Stephens' decision because of the tragedy we call women's basketball. There's not much on the line. I understand that Collin Dennis was suspended for a game or so this season, but he's been an inconsistent player with little to no offensive production.

Unless Amber Jackson straight up did something completely horrible, she shouldn't be suspended for this game. I think Coach Stephens is making a huge mistake. The girls team MAYBE had a 1% chance of beating ASU with Jackson in the lineup. Take out Amber's 17 points and 9 rebounds per game and there's NO chance. It seemed like the Denver girls just manhandled the Mean Green last weekend without Jackson. In my opinion, a 10-19 record, is just unacceptable, given the talent of Jo Hall, Amber Jackson, Brittany James, Trisha Lee and Yari Escalera.

Unfortunately I bought my tickets for the spurs/mavs game a while back. But i'll be there in spirit! Go MEAN GREEN!

We did play them Jan 17th. When NT was clearly NOT playing their best basketball. I don't see this game being anywhere near as close. GO MEAN GREEN!

Saturday: USA (10-7) @ Troy. MTSU (10-7) @ WKU Sunday: NT (10-7) @ Denver Shouldn't we be praying for Troy and WKU to win, then wouldn't we be the 4th seed at (11-7) behind WKU, UALR and Troy?

Wouldn't you think the 6th seed is the best place to be? Playing ULM (or anyone really) in the play-in game. Then playing Troy. (They play our style of ball. Fast paced offensive attack). And hope that WKU or UALR gets knocked out in the 2nd round.

I kind of think JJ called off the dogs early. I remember there was about 4 and a half minutes left and Johnson put up a fade away jumper with a couple of ticks on the shot clock. It hit the rim, bounced pretty high and then went in. I noticed that he immediately looked back at JJ and shrugged. Did anyone else see that?

what HAPPENED to Arkansas State?? Lost 6 in a row, and 8 of the last 10. By the way they started, I really thought they had a shot to win the west, too.

Can someone explain why people keep complaining about NT's lack of point guard? I'm certain that Johnson has been running point pretty well. Not only does he lead the team in assists, but he's a good scorer as well. He's faster and better than Josh White would ever be as a point guard. I think JJ should change up the lineup again. Johnson at point. TT and McCoy at shooting guard. And then Tramiel and George. I don't think Johnson and White should start together, there's just no point.

With all due respect, I'm just not seeing how she wasn't a "good" coach. Sure she wasn't a GREAT coach like a Pat Summitt or Gail Goestenkors, but I'd hardly say she wasn't deserving of all her 19 years. The potential of these ladies is just outstanding and I am looking forward to every women's season to come. Slinker has coached many amazing young ladies and I wish her the best of luck in whereve life takes her next! Let's show the ladies how much we support them next year. i'm most definitely not a fan of Slinker, but I believe the UNT Women were Sun Belt West Champs in 2002 and 2006.

Mean Green Ladies dropped the first game 4-1... but they're up 8-1 at the top of the 5th inning in the 2nd game! GO MEAN GREEN!

i really think the Women's game is going to be GOOD. Maybe even better than the men's, simply because it's the #8/#9 seeds going at it. Come out and watch the women get revenge from their 2 point heartbreaker in new orleans! next stop, WKU, who they already beat once this year!

i agree. in my opinion, USA has a grand advantage because their path should take them straight to the championship game. [the benefit of being the #1 seed] so if they lose before the Championship game, I don't see them getting into the NCAA tournament.
