  1. I heart Brett Vito
  2. No, but you'd have to assume Jerry knows something that we don't about the situation.
  3. I'd say this game did it. Wouldn't be surprised if tomorrow's his last game. I thought for sure he'd last longer than Avery.....
  4. In other SMU news June Jones has been fighting a nasty case of diarrhea, most likely stemming from a recent trip to the notorious local eatery J. Pepe's.
  5. Every team needs spares, and there's some decent spares on that list, but there's no legitimate 2nd/3rd guy there.
  6. Other than Yao, who'll I agree to disagree on, give me the name of a guy you'd call "good talent." All I can come up with are complete spares.
  7. Hot sports prediction: Avery and Ron Washington will share the spotlight & shame when they are each fired on March 3rd.
  8. I'm not sure why I'm defending him, I don't really like McGrady, but I'd put him at a level right below Kobe. Look what Kobe did after Shaq left, no talent, miss the playoffs, and get knocked out in the 1st round a couple years in a row. Now with talent, he's the #1 MVP candidate. T-Mac has a dude named Scola, a playground baller, an old Bobby Jackson, and an even older Mutombo. I think Yao's a great piece, but geez, why not give T-mac even a little help? I don't know what you see in Yao to call him dominant. He's good for sure. Better than most 7"5 and up guys. But he's always going to be injury prone, you can't be that big and play minutes like he does. I don't watch the Rockets that much, but when I have I can't recall ever seeing a game and thinking that Yao was dominating. All that being said, I hate the Rockets and hope T-Mac never makes it out of the first round.
  9. I'd say that it's a no brainier that I'd want McGrady over Yao. McGrady's proven himself to be one of those very rare guys that can take a game over at any moment. Sadly he's never had any talent at all around him. Nothing about Yao scares me. He is probably the most polished of the 7"5 and above guys ever in this league, and a great commodity to have on a team, but I don't see him getting any better.
  10. Replace Robin Ventura with John Daniels in that video clip and I'd say Nolan's earning his Ranger's paycheck.
  11. That sneaky piece of $#@%.
  12. NO has never won a game in Dallas. I say that holds and Dallas takes it in six. That, of course, is dependent on at least two of the Jet/J-Ho/Stack trio waking up and contributing anything at all. If J-Ho's going to continue being content to hoist up bricks from the perimeter, whats stopping Avery from giving a couple of those minutes to Bass at the 3?
  13. Has anyone seen anywhere what he likes about UNT? Are there any signs that point to JJ actually landing this guy? I'm not trying to be a negative nellie here but, is there really any reason for me to get my hopes up on this guy?
  14. My guess is that Ricky V. has been playing around on the Wiki.
  15. At this pace....... Wash is gone by June 1st. Followed shortly by Little John.
  16. Leave it to a dirty Spurs fan......
  17. She sky is falling! She sky is falling! She sky is falling! She sky is falling! It's a 7 verses 2 amd the top seed won the first game on their home floor. Mavs in 6.
  18. This would certainty be a tasty signing.
  19. That wasn't meant as a blanket statement for all women's sports. In the absence of men' soccer or baseball, I really enjoy taking in a Soccer/Softball game as often as I can. What I was inferring is that to me, the place to break, or even open up, the bank for a coach is not the women's basketball program. I think it's perfectly fine to just bring in new blood rather than spend extra for someone that, although has had success, would be far from a guaranteed commodity.
  20. No....I don't wanna. Is it terrible that the idea of going cheap on a Women's Basketball coach sounds fine to me? I realize this isn't the most PC thing to say, and I root for the girls to do well, but does an above average Women's B-ball team really add that much to the Prestige of our Program? Look yourself in the mirror and ask, other than wanting all things UNT to succeed, do I really care about this?
  21. If he's 6"6, where does Vitto get of calling him a power forward?
  22. Props on the VW. Thats one hell of a nice looking bug. I think Adolph would definitely be proud...... I've been restoring my 1980 Camaro for eight years now and after looking at your Bug, I think I've found the perfect color scheme for my lifelong project. Once again, congratulations on an absolutely beautiful VW. My dad and I had a project bug when I was 12, but we could never get that damn air cooled flat 4 to run just right and eventually gave up on her. It really is an accomplishment to keep one of those running reliably. Way to go!!!
  23. I honestly think that Wooden was the most talented big man the Belt's ever seen. Had it not been for untimely injuries and questionable strategies for nurturing/dealing with said injuries, I think Keith could have had an entirely different career. You just don't see big men with that kind of a soft touch very often. I think its a real shame that the Mean Green Nation only got to see a couple times what a 100% Wooden was capable of.
  24. I really want to get pumped over this signing..... but can anyone give me a definitive idea on how tall he really is??? I've been reading up on him and have found him to be anywhere from a 6'10 power forward to a 6'5 forward/guard combo. If he's 6"10 then I'm excited, if he's 6'7 or below I'm only slightly jovial. It seems he really does have some real ability, but all I'm looking for for next season is someone to ease the loss of Wooden.
