  1. The season is over for North Texas so it's time to keep an eye on the conference tournaments for sleepers and sign up for the pick em contest.
  2. Shawnson Johnson broke the North Texas single season record for blocks tonight with 54.
  3. Chat Link Big game in thin air tonight.
  4. I know it was a great game on the radio, it sounds like you got a treat. Hank mentioned that Dixon was taking steps everytime, I guess it's hard to cover someone in the post when they have a different set of rules. Being 320 pounds didn't help either. You are right, without turnovers, especially the four in a row in the first half that took it from a 6 point NT lead to a 5 point WKU lead were the difference. Let's get back to Diddle and win them all.
  5. Boom a lacka Boom a lacka Bow wow wow Ching a lacka Ching a lacka Chow chow chow Boom a lack Ching a lacka Who are we? We are the students of UNT That's old school.
  6. That's a great point. Someone who understands the 5/8 rule, please explain how it affects replacing our seniors, Roniger and say one other underclassman?
  7. We've got 6 in chat now and a few others have been in and out, listen to the game and come join.
  8. Mean Green Chat Big game in the desert tonight. Last time we beat NMSU there was around 30 years ago and we need this one. The mathup earlier was a 3 point NMSU win at the Super Pit.
  9. As was discussed at length not too long ago, there is a conference rule that the section or certain amount of rows behind the visitors bench is for visiting fans seating, not a student section for the home crowd. This is probably as we can tell so that the area for comp tickets will be universal throughout the league. It is also why there were some issues when several students moved to the other side of the Super Pit and Rick V pointed out what sections were allowed and what sections weren't.
  10. I'm sorry as well Jenifer. - Aaron
  11. I don't think he is a homeless schmuck, when I am coaching I would love to have the job and salary he has. But the way he used to dress with a T-SHIRT under a bad suit looked like a homeless schmuck compared to the way Coach Jones appears impeccably dressed. I would think that appearance is important when representing a university, and I would also hope you are very thankful he dropped the whole t-shirt thing. It looked very cheap and did not represent the UNO basketball and athletic program well.
  12. Obviously you are affiliated with cheerleaders somehow, because the above statement is laughable. I appreciate that they are awesome gymnasts and win contests on TV, that is great publicity to a demographic I cannot relate to, but to say that blaming cheerleaders shouldn't be done when TWO came to a basketball game is just silly.
  13. Plus Texas Stranger has all 10 toes aligned properly (that I know of), so therefore is better than Deion.
  14. Bingo! Right after RV was hired I emailed him saying that the student section should be behind the visitors bench to make the trip to the Pit a real away game for them rather than have their parents right behind them making them feel comfortable. He told me that he agreed wholeheartedly (who wouldn't like that idea?), but that Sun Belt Conference rules are that so many rows or so many feet behind the visitors bench has to be saved for their fans (comp tickets). While I agree it seems very silly to move the student section over further in the corner as they did this year (and they did without a doubt, the seat I sat in most games last year would now bring a swarm of event staff if I sat there), I would like to know the reasoning behind this. Also, if Mr. Villareal gets the chance to read this, on the topic of event staff... My dad is an alum of the University and has lived and breathed basketball his whole life. He loves to go to games when he gets the chance to, and he comes decked out in green. However, now he has to be talked into going to games because at a scarcely attended game this season, he was asked and hasseled by several event staff about where his ticket seat was. He bought an upper level ticket and sat on the top row of the lower level that was almost empty. Apparently one of the event staff made him move. The seats remained empty. This is the kind of thing that drives away the fans we are trying to bring in. If it seemed like the Pit will be packed (it will be a great day), he said he could see why they did that. But this section was empty, and he-just like any of us-would move with no complaint if the actual ticket holder for that game asked him to move. If this was the Mavericks and Lakers, these actions would be necessary, but in the meantime they are not necessary. They only serve to irritate, make uncomfortable, and therefore make less likely to come back so many casual fans (who will NOT continue to come no matter what the circumstances like those on this board). If you read this Mr. Villareal, I know that you have the fan and consumer in mind and will make any actions you see neccessary. You have turned around the whole attitude of our fan base and campus, and I am thankful for that. Aaron Switzer Senior
  15. Two cheerleaders (that led no cheers, ironic isn't it?) and no Scrappy is inexcusible.
  16. You missed the worst part. A couple of years ago he wore that same cheap suit with a cheap New Orleans T-SHIRT underneath it. Coach Jones made him look like a homeless schmuck, needless to say. It was like having the best and worst dressed coaches in America on opposite ends.
  17. I was thankful Zeke wasn't there, we might have lost him tonight. This exact thing happend last season with UNO. Towe stomps around the court, gets in refs faces, and they don't do a thing about it. Then they start listening to him. What does he do that allows him to get away with that. A ref argued with him once. What the hell is that? T that tiny mofo up and let him know you are calling the game, not him. Sadly tonight it was the opposite, Towe had the refs nuts in his hands. He got them to call EVERYTHING down low, and he got Johnson fouled out. This also got his three posts fouled out and almost backfired when Barnett was able to back in their less than first rate posts for a couple of baskets. But it worked out for him in the end. That was a chance he was more than willing to take and it worked. In my time as a Super Pit Junkie, I have never seen a coach control the officiating crew more than that short SOB. The only thing I can compare it to is Troy Hamm when he coached at Krum. Yes, it was that bad.
  18. After the first home game of the year in the press conference, JJ said free throws would dominate practice. He has known it was a problem the whole year and I can guarantee you that he has done all he can. At some point the players have to take it on themselves to concentrate in practice and game time to knock them down. I can't imagine how bad we would be at them without Leonard.
  19. The official should never interact with the fans. If they were that ugly to him, he should have went to the coach of the home team, told him the problem, and asked him to have the administrator(s) present escort the fans out. If he did or did not use profanity, he opened himself up to the criticism and allegations by not handling it properly.
  20. Just wondering since you have said it multiple times.
  21. Where are you getting this that the green team is younger?
  22. Confirmed on Johnny Jones Show tonight.
  23. I was told that 8 is going to do a thing on our basketball team tonight, being first place in the SBC, Hopkins player of the week, and things like that. This is NORTH TEXAS getting exposure for being good at basketball and I hope you all tune and then get out to the Super Pit for the next two home games. It won't be news to the posters on this board, but it will be great to see those guys get some recognition. Let's pack the Pit!
  24. Do they read and answer submitted questions from the audience?
