  1. Welcome! It's also Mason's parent's section. It's a good section.
  2. I think this author just started paying attention to college football about 2 years ago.
  3. #42 on that list. I’ll take it. That’s high praise.
  4. Did prices go up this year by much? I know we took a big hit last year.
  5. I don’t think I've ever read a thread here with the word “wrinkle” in it more than this thread. 😂
  6. Good job for GH! Hope he does well there. The sky is definitely the limit for him there. Especially when you consider the last USC OC made the jump to NFL head coach. 😂
  7. Because it's fun, your should try it. And he sucked in so many ways. Now that I got my sarcasm out of the way, here's a more serious response. While he may have done a few good things during his tenure, the mind wonders how much more someone else like WB could have done and accomplished during that time. The longer that WB is here and the more WB does, the more I wonder how far we would be if we never hired him. In his 15 years here, I'm guessing someone like WB would have been able to accomplish what RV did in about 5-7 years. So by my own estimation, that puts our athletic programs behind by about 8-10 years. I'm glad to have him as a fan and supporter. But he shouldn't have been the AD for nearly as long as he was. I have moved on to supporting WB and company. However, I like to take opportunities like this to reminisce and show my appreciation that RV is gone.
  8. Said it many times before, and I’ll say it again: I love this athletic administration. One of the best things we ever did was fire RV.
  9. Well I would have thought this would have been merged into the megathread. 😂
  10. Better question: why would G5 schools agree to this? Many G5’s and FCS programs depend on these prearranged big payouts from P5 schools to fund their athletic programs. Sounds like the luck of this lottery based system would remove those payouts.
  11. A lot can be learned by sitting out a year. He knew the rules when he signed on the dotted line. Embrace the suck.
  12. You’re talking about pennies to these guys. It wouldn’t slow it down at all. The schools make so much money off of these kids that they don’t want to sound greedy by asking for tuition money back. And the NFL contracts are big enough that the kids wouldn’t think twice about it and would pay it out of their first check.
  13. They’re no Arkansas.
  14. The coolest thing I owned (past tense because we ate it) was my Apogee grooms cake a couple years ago.
  15. Not likely. It’s more about TV and streaming rights than it is about attendance or reputation. ESPN keeps adding bowls. They won’t kill one off.
  16. That’s an oddly familiar looking message board format...
  17. I just went to the new balance website and searched “custom.” Looks like they have a few different shoes you can customize based on whatever you’re looking for. https://www.newbalance.com/nb1/explore/?searchSource=Custom
  18. I’m not sure about football coach positions specifically, but many state government jobs in education must be posted for a period of time. For example, teaching positions. It wouldn’t be too far of a stretch to go from public education posts being required to positions at a state university also being required.
  19. That’s just, like, your opinion man.
  20. I believe he is already a fireman and left that to go to school and play football. Not sure what his correct field of study is though.
  21. Since most top recruits have already signed, any signed future recruits will be lower ranked. Resulting in that average dropping once/if UH is able to fill the recruiting class. That’s how averages work. Or do they not teach that at UH?
  22. Like most of us, I'm sure Wren Baker has been called a lot of things in his lifetime. I'm just not sure "athletic" is one of them.
  23. It was nice to have him here as long as we did. Wish him nothing but success there and in the future.
  24. I would have gone just because I live near the stadium, like college football and picked Ohio in my bowl pool. But I looked all day and couldn't find tickets for less than $50 each after fees. I probably would have gone if I could get in for half that price.
  25. Seems like an odd move to me...
