Can you name 3 before Todd Dodge?

Hey OT, didn't I read at one point (on your lists of prospects) that Cyrus Gray of DeSoto was showing some interest in UNT? I caught DeSoto and Garland Friday night. They have such an explosive backfield with Gray and a transfer RB from Miami. (Adrian Bushell) Thanks http://www.hsgametime.com/dfw/school.html?...mp;propertyId=1

I think the difference of opinion, expressed here by most, is that Daniel Meager had a great performance based on his heretofore standards. Others feel that despite the impressive stats and overall good game, they don't feel comfortable with him leading this program to new heights. Meager is, in fact, a junior in a year or two in which we are not expected to go bowling. What's interesting about this Meager vs Vizza debate is that it shouldn't be from this point forward. I've been in the "give me anyone else" camp regarding Meager. After last night, he has clearly solidified his starting status on this team. Aside from Arkansas, the competition will equal, slightly be better or be less than the SMU Mustangs the rest of the way. Vizza will only receive mop up duty the rest of the way. It is clear to this poster that we are in a rebuilding mode and should focus on the bigger picture for the program. Going forward, our offense will put up 500 yards of offense against the SMU types. Will it be Meager or the system? Coach Dodge is already loading up on wide receivers. Enter young Riley Dodge in the spring, who will not be a true true freshman next fall. Vizza immediately falls to #3 on the charts. TD will probably recruit another top tier QB in 08-09. Like it or not, but Vizza's will be an after thought after last night for the rest of the year; possibly the rest of his career. Dodge Ball 2007: Throw it, Catch it, Win with it!

I sat in amazement at the performance of Daniel Meager most of the game. Then he reverted back to the old DM. Clearly the best game of his career. However, you can't make the passes he made when the game is on the line. He took everything that SMU was giving him most of the game but when the game was on the line, started forcing passes. Riley Dodge will bring more mobility to the QB position which should help sustain drives (ala Justin Willis) Casey Fitzgerald may make it into the single season record books in receiving. I can't believe that he was a walkon. Who's the back up to #74? Starting to look like Flozell Adams! Jamario Thomas looks like a larger Robert Newhouse. Has the kid totally lost it? This team needs some speed and quickness out of the backfield. Is Cam Montgomery a bust? Moseley is not the backfield threat we need. Right cornerback is the most glaring need on this team! Offensively, Dodgeball will be exciting. 35 - 40 points a game, however, will not win any games with this defense. We can't stop anybody. Our Defensive linemen put forth a great effort but we lack the relentless pressure needed to get the defense off the field. (Hopefully, TD will save some scholarships for some back ass defensive linemen) Overall, a good game in which we were not embarrassed. The future looks bright! It's just a damn shame that some of us older fans are going to have to wait another 2-3 years for a competitive team.

September 8, 2007 - 11:26 am Tim Donaghy lost his high-paying job as an NBA referee, the respect of his colleagues and possibly his freedom. Now, as he awaits sentencing in federal court for participating in an illegal betting operation, Donaghy might also lose his wife, his Florida home and the custody of his children. Donaghy's wife, Kimberly, filed for divorce Thursday in Manatee County (Fla.) Court, claiming that their 12-year marriage is "irretrievably broken." She wants alimony, custody of their four girls, ages 6 to 11, and the lion's share of their marital assets. Kimberly Donaghy says in court papers that her husband's "voluntary actions have resulted in his loss of income" – $260,000 a year, to be exact – as an NBA referee.

Smu's 1982 National Championship Team To Be Honored At Unt Game

I grew up a huge SMU fan and during Mustang Mania back in the 80's. They never won a national championship though. Most polls had them a distant 2nd. -

September 6, 2007 TexasHoops.com Recruiting Staff Soft-spoken off the court, Demarius "Shug" Jones lets his game do the talking. The smooth 6-foot-2, 180-pound shooting guard from Pinkston High School in Dallas can get on a roll quickly from the outside with his ability to knock down threes and showed flashes of brilliance this summer on the AAU circuit. Jones was going to make a high-major pledge but is now looking at other opportunities - something that may extend until the spring. "Shug was going to commit to Auburn, but it didn't pan out so right now he's going to wait," said Pinkston head coach Nick Smith. "He pretty much has offers from a lot of mid-majors. South Alabama is coming next week and other schools like North Texas and Florida Atlantic have also offered. Ole Miss called the other day looking for a shooter and Oral Roberts and Wichita State are trying to get in." At this point, Jones is completely open with his current list and is open to others possibly coming into the picture. The plan right now is to wait until the spring to make a decision, but it appears that at least one official visit may take place. "He'll probably take a visit to South Alabama - he's told the coach there that he'd like to visit," Smith said. "Then he'll probably take one to Ole Miss too. Oral Roberts and Wichita State are trying to get him in as well." There's no question that Jones would appreciate a high-major conference situation in his college decision, but most importantly will be finding the right fit. "He's looking for an offense that gets up and down a bit, has some structure but one that will also let him play," Smith said. "He's one of those kids that goes to a mid-major and should start, but if he goes to a school in a conference like the SEC he'd be fine with coming off the bench." Texas Hoops Analysis: DEMARIUS has a scorer's mentality from the time he walks out of the locker room until the final horn blows. He can get hot and score in bunches from anywhere on the court. He isn't shy to take a shot anytime from anywhere. He has a smooth 3 point stroke, uses pump fakes well to create space to get his shot off, works well off baseline screens and can catch and get a shot off very quickly. He has improved his ability to create his offense and has made strides on the defensive and rebounding sides of the ball.

The Tanner kid (Phillip #21) that scored MTSU's second TD is from Dallas Kimball. Committed to UNT but signed with MTSU on signing day.

I hear you on Ms Miller, however, she was anti subsidizing Millionaires/Billionaires for any project within the city. She also only had 1 vote to take the measure to the voters. The majority of the council supported a stadium at Fair Park or the area SE of Downtown. Jerry and his marketing firm, Allyum Group, used the city of Dallas to cut a deal with any other city that stepped up first. Arlington residents pays for it, Dallas and others in the region benefit. Win Win!

I think he is still with the Giants.

The facts are that many of our current players would not be playing D1 ball if it wasn't for Dickey. In less than 1 year, Dodge has attracted more interest from the area's top 100 than Dickey in the past 2-3 years. I truly feel the kids gave a max effort against OU. Part of the problem (blowout) was the new offense that doesn't take time off the clock. Dickey ran up the middle 90% of the time and still got blown out outside the conference. Dodge felt in the spring that he had no depth at corner. He then had to go out of state to find Roman at a Juco. I'm sure the plans were to not have the kid open up against Malcolm Kelly. In private, Dodge has probably already told his assistants that much work is needed in recruiting. Obviously he won't publicly comment on what he inherited; as he still need the kids to battle with. The decision to turn this roster over has probably been made. The only question is: the Juco route or mostly high schoolers?

No way in hell is this kid 5-11! (More like 5-7) He did look bad but so did most of the others guys on the team. I don't fault these guys or their effort. We just have a collection of backups starting. Darrell Dickey should be fired again for leaving Dodge with this mess. We did not benefit at all (recruiting) by winning 4 straight Sunbelt titles. Dickey inherited a better roster than Dodge 9 years ago. Dickey simply quit on this program; and stopped recruiting!

Lifer, because I don't think UNT has a chance at this kid doesn't mean that JJ is not recruiting him! You can't have it both ways, When a kid says that a coach or school didn't recruit him we all complain. Truth be told, the majority of stuff I read on here is not UNT related and/or is of no interest to me. It is not my place to bash them because I don't feel it is UNT related. This kid is the son of one of our best centers of all time. He is also the #38 recruit in the country who resides less than 35 miles from Denton. JJ's best recruits have been kids that he signed on the rebound from larger programs. I certainly don't wont to waste my time posting anything here if I don't feel someone appreciates it or might benefit from it. It is not basketball season! It is quiet on this side of the board. If you can't compliment me on the valuable information that I have shared in the past, don't bitch now. You need to be more respectful and mature and not read or comment on things you personally don't have an interest in. Because folks don't chime doesn't mean that they don't appreciate the information. This is not the first time you have taken shots at me but I would hope that it is the last. We have board administrators that move a topics if THEY feel it inappropriate. Be more respectful and send them a private message with your complaint!

I've seen the majority of Bobo's games. The kid is figuring it out! The assessment below is from ESPN (Scout's Top 150) where Bobo is ranked #38 in the country. Anyway, this is the most accurate assessement of Bobo's game that I have seen. Scouts Grade: 90 Position Rank: C #12 Considering: 1-Kansas , 2-Kentucky , 3-Alabama , 4-LSU , 5-UCLA -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Evaluation: Morgan has all the physical tools to be an impact center at the high major level. He has an impressive frame (extremely long arms), broad shoulders, and overall great length for the five spot. Despite his size he gets off of the floor remarkably quick and has excellent timing around the basket at both ends. He is a very good rebounder and possesses nice instincts around the basket. He is capable of running the floor, but is not very fluid in that area of his game. As with most "bigs" his defense is ahead of his offense. Morgan is one of the most prolific shot blockers in the country due to his long arms and quick reactions. Offensively, his post skills are raw and he needs to develop a go-to move other than a dunk. In addition, Morgan needs to utilize his impressive frame more effectively when posting up - he allows defenders to come around him too often to deflect entry passes. However, an area that he is quite good at despite his youth is his patience while posting up - he reads defenses very well and usually delivers a pin-point pass to an open teammate. Overall, despite his raw offensive game, Morgan will be recruited at the highest level and should have a very productive college career. Notes: Louisville is also on his list...AAU Team: Urban DFW Elite
