Not recruiting related but I was at the championship game last year in Mansfield. (St Thomas & Plano Prestonwood) I left at halftime very upset with the officiating against Prestonwood but in particular, against Julius Randle. He had 4 of the worst calls in the history of bad calls against him. Clearly the most dominate player on the court, the refs just decided that he was not going to be a factor. I drove over 50 miles to get there just in time for the tipoff from Kimball's regional championship game at the Special Events Center in Garland. Anyway, King didn't overwhelm me but you can tell that his best ball is ahead of him. Needs to pick up some serious weight and add strength. Kid looked no older than 13.

Commits to OU. This is why OU basketball is down and not getting better anytime soon. Don't mean to be too hard on the kid but Hornbeak has never shown me anything. We've received some questionable early commitments. Glad this one passed us up. (or vice-versa)

Sat with Forte Sr this past weekend at the new Lewisville HS arena (prior to UNT Football) Mr Forte felt that young Phil will be givin an opportunity early to fill the role of Keaton Page. OSU's coaching staff really likes the smallish sharp shooters. By the way, Marcus went down by 13 to a more talented Grace Prep. (Arlington) AGP rolls out a college ready lineup of Jr. Jordan Mickey (6-7) transfer from Richardson Berkner, Karviar Shephard, 6-9 transfer from DeSoto (Jr) 7-0 Isiah Austin, Baylor commit (#2 ranked in TX), 6-4 Soph Emanuel Mudiaye (#1 ranked) & Jelon Hornbeke, 6-2 UNT prospect. (over rated in my opinion)

I think everyone plays in the first 2 games and I would not read anything into it. JJ needs to establish an 8 man rotation soon after that with pressure to win @ Tech and UTA. He has to compete @ Miss. St & UT. I think the question should be who starts against Tech? (a must win game) Anyway, I believe he will start the guys who has hussled the most in practice: Chris Jones Alzee Williams Roger Franklin Kendric Hogans ?

Watching Ridge and DeSoto blast OKlahoma City Douglass 63-0 on FS. Ridge claims to be the fastest on a very fast DeSoto squad. Reportedly ran a 4.25 forty this summer. This team badly needs D1 linemen on both sides of the ball, but if we have to sign Wr's, give me sprinters speed. Time out for anymore 4.6 skill guys!
