No Parents are not. I'm his great uncle. (My sister's grandson) I graduated from NTSU, my spouse, both of our sons and deceased mother-in-law. My youngest son graduated from Dunne.

MGB: Fran Fraschilla talks about UNT job
Cooley replied to Brett Vito's topic in Mean Green Basketball
Fran was never seriously interested in the job. He told me this directly. He briefly explored the idea because he resides in Highland Park. He stated that he did not want to give up his 5 month a year gig at ESPN and the money it paid him. I actually urged him to move forward with the process because of his ties and knowledge of top foreign players. While we we talking, his son called him and he excused himself to take the call. He mentioned that his sons were another reason he was not interested. -
Has a track record of hitting Argyle hard. In fact, offered many D/FW kids. Was surprised Caden Dickenson ended up at W Kentucky.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paul_Graham_(basketball_coach) Paul Graham is probably considering retirement but could fill a role as advisor/asst/recruiter in D/FW. Has applied 2-3 times in the past. Anyway, congrats to this UNT alum who defeated previously unbeaten and #1 ranked Klein Forest and advancing Dallas Skyline to its 1st State Championship tournament this week.

If I'm the new coach, I would seriously think about not bringing Pittman or Fuller back. Use those scholarships on better players. Can't imagine Frazier coming back. He would only have 1 semester to play. Would/Could he sit another semester to play conference games? Hope Baker considers a coach that can come with an impact package. Zach Simmons may end up being a steal. Though a nice project, I would hate to lose him in the transition. I can see him pushing Brice in the middle but needs more bulk and muscle. Wainwright didn't show me much the only time I saw him but that team was loaded. Don't see him making that much of an impact. Not a great shooter and hates to bring the ball up the court.

I thought Conner was the biggest disappointment on the Dunne roster this past year. After his teammates protested late in the year, Conner was benched in favor of a soph they brought up from the JV. I can't believe those offers as he was/is not that good. Sorry to bash the kid but Dunne lacked decent quarterbacking to win the title.

Agree. I would also consider naming the court "Bill Blakely Court" to help bring back an entertaining brand of ball.

What is Frazier's status with the team for next year? Still with the team in UNT gear on the floor.

Now have offers from most Big XII and SEC schools. SMU and UH offered this past week. La Tech today. Currently the #8th Top 50 (2018) in DFW. No UNT offer.

UNT commit Zack Simmons posted a Triple Double 17pts 23rebs 10blks in Cedar Hill win over Duncanville last night. Have watched him progress throughout the season. (Still has work to do) I have monitored TVCC's Amaad Wainwright's stats all year, including 45 in a 3 OT win earlier this season. I plan to watch him for the 1st time against Navarro later today in Corsicana. Wonder if the pending coaching change will affect their status with the program. By my count, there are at least 2 more scholarships to offer. Good start by the new staff.

The Mean Green Future Just Seems More Bright Than Ever Before
Cooley replied to FirefightnRick's topic in Mean Green Football
I can't get too optimistic until I see an All-Conference quarterback on this team. Additionally, a Great Defensive Line (with size & depth). This program has always had a hand full of good players on the roster. To turn the corner, we need 15-20. I don't see a difference in recruiting than any other year. Also, didn't see good or bad coaching from this staff. Hopefully, this thing will eventually come together in my life time. Would be ecstatic to return to the Fry years and move the conversation to a higher level. -

Wasn't that long ago that maybe 3-5 people on here (including myself) would even post anything about UNT basketball. I often wondered where all the many Johnny Come Lately fans came from that now complain about what Benford took from them. Im for a change but will continue to support the program because I love the sport (regardless of the coach and/or record. My high school, a former state power, is as bad as I ever remember. The crowd is staying away. The future looks bright and it's still exciting to see the young kids develop.
