  1. TCU, SMU, Texas Tech, Baylor, Ohio State........some pretty solid non conference games
  2. According to someome on staff and administration- a player would only have to sit out for this coming fall if she came from the same conference. This does not apply unless we were in the SEC so she is good to go this fall. On the 13 games, she was apparently hurt most of the year.
  3. Yes very nice pick-up, she will be ready to play this coming fall. Should add a ton of speed up front to an already talented front line.....word was top 20 programs such as Oklahoma State & LSU were after this kid and she chose UNT.
  4. Five players off the 2nd best team in the whole DFW area.......not to shabby. This class might very well be stronger than last years. Now that the women's team is in good shape for the next several years, lets get started on the men's program.
  5. Kelli Lunsford: North Texas Junior defender- All central region 3rd team Kelsey Perlman: North Texas Freshman forward- All central region freshman team Central Region: final ranking (68 teams) Top 15 1. Texas A&M 2. Oklahoma State 3. Missouri 4. Texas 5. Colorado 6. LSU 7. Kansas 8. Memphis 9. Denver 10. TCU 11. Colorado College 12. Tennessee 13. Nebraska 14. Belmont 15. North Texas (15-4-1) Notable schools not making the top 15: SMU, OU, Texas Tech, Baylor, Iowa State, Rice, Houston, UTEP, New Mexico
  6. Football is 0-2, Volleyball is 1-5, soccer is 3-1......yea i see what you mean, soccer how dare you lose a game. Soccer please hold up the fort once again and again and again and again and again and again.................i think you get the idea, or do you want me to keep going.
  7. Exactly. Played tired and lazy. I thought the defense looked good though. UTSA was not a team to be taken lightly, they are hungry and have recruited well for such a young program. They played physical and we did not rise to match the intensity. We just got out-hustled I thought. Offense was very slow to react, no one consistently moving without the ball, we had chances and muffed them. Just looked tired on offense. I do think a little more conditioning may be in order. Got to get more out of the bench too so we can stay fresh. ETSU will be a tough game, we need to start quick and keep moving. Paper said UNT out shot UTSA 17-6 and had four corners to their none.....out hustled, i dont think so. That was merely a team that packed it in/prayed and decided to counter once in a while. Everytime i looked up UNT was crashing the goal, hitting balls off the post, cross bar and the ugly near misses in front of the goal. If they played 10 times UNT wins 9 of those matches, but give UTSA credit the game plan of bunker in, sub 10-15 players and counter on a few occassions worked.....that and a little luck. That's soccer thou, you never know, but that OU game was sure amazing.
  8. One of the best games i've been too, the crowd/atmosphere was unbelievable. #7 is a stud, coach Hedlind made a great move pushing #7 up from the back late in the game.....it really paid off with two absolute rocket shots pass the OU goalkeeper. Not sure any of our sports can beat OU much less compete with them but with coach Hedlind on the sidelines anything is possible. Great Job ladies, 3-0 keep it going
  9. I think with the talent the state has NT would be able to compete on a national level faster than in soccer and two sport atheletes would consider us a viable option. I believe we lost out on a football/baseball recruit last year. Have to totally disagree with you on baseball moving to the national level faster then mens soccer. Mens soccer would be top 20 first year.
  10. Another award was just released this time by the Fort Worth Star Telegram: Kara Brooks Sr Forward from LD Bell HS has been named Most Valuable Player for the year. Outstanding News for UNT Go Mean Green
  11. Saw today in the Dallas Morning News that UNT womens soccer had two recruits named to first team All-Area for HS soccer. Kelsey Perlman SR forward from Allen HS with 23 goals/15 assists. Kara Brooks Sr forward from LD Bell HS with 33 goals/14 assists. Great stuff, especially considering the DMN only selects 12 players total out of the entire DFW metroplex and UNT lands two of them for next fall. Go Mean Green
  12. Great game last night ladies beating Canada 5-0. The meangreen machine really took it to the Canadians in the second half scoring four goals in the last 30 minutes of play, very impressive.......too bad we couldnt have last nights officials for the Notre Dame game, it might have been quite interesting, especially after we went up on ND 2-1. Go Mean Green
  13. Yep just saw it on the UNT Soccer website. NT v Notre Dame this Sunday at Noon in McKinney (Craig Ranch Soccer Complex) Also next Tuesday at home against Canada 7:30pm (heard this is one of the youth national squads that is touring the states) Go Mean Green
  14. Ouch......TWU beats North Texas tonight 5-4
  15. Tough loss..........we were all hoping to win atleast two out of the three against the Hilltoppers in SBC tournament play. Quarters: Women lose to #1 seed WKU 61-53 Quarters: Men lose to #3 seed WKU 84-70 Semi-final: Women soccer beats #1 seed WKU 3-1 Hey there is always next year to show those Hilltopppers whose #1.
  16. Judgement day is what your able to do in conference and on the womens side the only program that has brought home the hardware (conference championships) is soccer.
  17. Nice artice in today's sports section of the Dallas Morning News on NT soccer signee Jill Wright from Forney HS. Wright was selected as player of the week......... the 5'11 keeper should really help the Mean Green for next fall. Go Mean Green
  18. Lost the second one today 4-3 to Temple, tough loss. Overall record has slipped to 4-7, better luck tomorrow.
  19. Not so good this morning, Sam Houston St. 1 North Texas 0..........Sam Houston St. must have our number, they have now beaten us three straight this year. Hopefully we can play better against Temple. GO MEAN GREEN
  20. This will be Softball's fifth year...... hopefully the fifth time is a charm and the program will have their first winning season. OSU finished 3-16 in conference last year and last in the Big 12, but hopefully this win will take away some of the frustrations of losing a double header to Sam Houston State last weekend. GO MEAN GREEN
  21. ....If you go to the Texas A&M website, Rice did play this weekend....The three teams that pulled out were SMU, Houston and SFA. The website has UNT beating Baylor 2-0, McNeese State 6-1 and losing to A&M 4-1......Finishing second out of six teams. (A&M, UNT, Rice, Baylor, McNeese, UTSA). GO MEAN GREEN
