  1. The rank on the selection letter, is that my selection rank for the section I am picking my seat from? Or is that my selection rank in the entire selection process? Or is it something esle?
  2. Odus Mitchell coached from 1946-1966, and finished with a record of 122-85-9; recording wins against Florida, Arizona St., and Texas Tech. During this time we also posted multiple wins over Louisville, Cincinnati, BYU, Houston, UTEP, and Tulsa.
  3. I voted for North Texas. Texas is a big place. Claiming all of the northern part sounds good to me.
  4. After looking at the new poster, the green part of the helmet appears to have a black stripe running down the center. The black SOW would look good on the sides, and very mean too. I think it would go well with green and white uniforms that have black as an accent color. I'd go with a grey facemask. Give it a little old school feel.
  5. I agree. I OK with expansion, if we get FBS programs that are good for the Sun Belt. I have no interst in Texas State. Maybe down the road, in 10 years I might warm up to the idea of adding UTSA, but not right now.
  6. That beer can chicken sounds really good. I might have to try that.
  7. My friends and I make Fajitas. We get them from La Azteca off of 35. Quick, easy, and they taste great. I'd like to try something new this season. Any good ideas?
  8. I saw where Iowa State is getting a news board. It's HD and measures something like 39 x 79, with a cost of $5 million. Does anyone know the exact specs and what the athletic department is spending on ours? Iowa State Board
  9. Our O-line scares me. Watching Tomlinson go down didn't help either. Does anyone know how serious his injury is? Also, too many offensive penalties. on the line. On the bright side, our D-line looked better. I think Will Wright will be a solid OLB. He's fast, seems to have a nose for the ball, and likes to hit. If he plays under control, he should cause lots of trouble for other teams in the Belt.
  10. It was. And it looked like an epileptic was behind the camera. The worst broadcast I've ever seen in my life.
  11. I'm just glad we are getting the new stadium. I'll wait to complain when we are filled to maximum capacity every game and have to turn fans away for season tickets. I'm fine with 30,850. Go Mean Green!!!
  12. And it beats watching a MTSU broadcast. Anyone know if North Texas has any games scheduled for T.V.? The Houston or Indiana games maybe?
  13. Congratulations. I stopped by the Athletic Center on Thursday and signed up too. I think we are in for an exciting football season in the new stadium. And today I mailed in my check to join the Alumni Association. Go Mean Green!
  14. If RV and Rowlins will spend the money, and Van still wants to coach, here is my choice for the next Woman's coach. He just stepped down at LSU. My link
  15. I just wanted to update where the men's team is at point in the season. National Ranking for the Sun Belt programs according to Golf Week Rank School W L T #31 North Texas 81 11 1 #46 MTSU 68 29 1 #80 USA 50 45 1 #86 ULL 59 37 2 #127 ASU 41 56 2 #131 ULM 42 32 1 #134 UALR 30 40 1 #154 Troy 45 53 4 #181 FAU 32 55 0 #236 WKU 17 64 0 National Rankings for North Texas players according to Golf Week Rank Player Class W L T #86 Carlos Ortiz So. 487 50 11 #138 Rodolfo Cazaubon So. 449 87 12 #296 Josh Jones Jr. 410 120 18 #398 Curtis Donahoe So. 207 123 10 #500 Ty Spinella So. 336 133 14 Coach Stracke has done a great job with the golf team. North Texas is now one of the best programs in Texas and starting to make some noise on the national stage. In 6 tournaments this season North Texas has a 1st place finish and has yet to finish lower then 4th. The Desert Shootout starts tomorrow. You can follow live scoring of the team on golfstat. The women's team is doing great too. I'll see if I can get some information on their season too. GO MEAN GREEN!!!

  17. I know... How are we going to get there? Well, I had an idea. If conferences like the Big East can hold off on expanding for a few years, we might have a shot at jumping to the front of the line for a C-USA invite. McCarney was brought here to turn this program into a consistent winner. I truly beleive that within a few seasons this program will consistently be at the top of the Sun Belt. That alone is not enough to get us into C-USA. History has proven that winning in the Sun Belt and losing OOC games won't get us anywhere. We all know that we have to win the OOC games too. But, there is one future OOC opponent in particular that we must beat everytime we play them. As hard as it is for me to write this, we need SMU to consistantly be the best team in C-USA by the time we start playing them in 2014, and them beat the snot out of them every time we play. For McCarney to design a team that can dominate the Belt is our first priority, but after that goal is realized, he must taylor the Mean Green to specifically dismantle the June Jones Run and Shoot. With what SMU is paying him I can't see a major program stealing him away. If North Texas and SMU are the top teams in their conferences and we dominate them in both 2014 and 2015, I think our long awaited invite will show up. A top 25 ranking too. The logic is simple. C-USA won't tolerate their best team consistently losing to the Sun Belt's best team. I just don't know if the Big East will wait 5 more years before expanding again.
  18. Another great effort. Great win North Texas! One more tomorrow night. Who would you guys rather play? UALR or MTSU?
  19. Great win! I love the hard nosed play in the last few minutes of the game. The team played the same way against Troy. I know WKU is feeling good after taking down ULL, but they can't feel good about having to face us tomorrow. Questions: Will the game be on T.V. tomorrow? Who will step up and be the hero against WKU? How healthy are we after tonight?
  20. Agreed. I particularly liked the way North Texas was able to play strong and pull away in the second half. I'm sure FAU took notice of it too. Great job North Texas. Time to rest and refocus.
  21. Good find. Ortiz is ranked 85th. Go Mean Green!!!
  22. The new rankings came out yesterday 2-13-11. North Texas fell back to 29th and Carlos Ortiz is now 87th. Both still lead the Sun Belt. In a side note, the only Texas teams ranked higher them North Texas are Texas, Texas A&M, and Texas Tech. Go Mean Green!!! 4 Time NCAA National Golf Champions!!!
  23. I'll be there on the 17th. And I'll be cheering loud for the Mean Green to get a win over USA. But talk does not impress me. I need to see a pulse on Thursday night before I can believe this team will finish out the regular season strong, let alone take some kind of momentum into the SB Tourement. The last three loses were embarassing. I need to see a hungary, scrappy, and determined, Mean Green team play defense and win against South Alabama. Go Mean Green!!!
  24. I said it before, and I'll keep saying it until we actually see the offical schedule in writing, "we need to open the new stadium against WKU!" We got them at home this year anyway. You only get one shot at opening a new stadium and I want a sure win!!! Go Mean Green!!!
