  1. I like this addition. I think this is a good example of a talented local kid that is flying below the radar. I hope we can find some more like him around the state.
  2. To try and recruit the kid again, after he is done with JC, would make us look bad. We shouldn't be in need of him by then. We need to move on and find another QB. A better QB. I'm sure that is what Mac and the staff are out there doing. Looking for someone else that fits what we are doing here.
  3. Good luck to this kid..... Time for us to move on. If we are going after this guy again when he finishes with his 2 year degree, I'll be disappointed in our recruiting efforts. I'd hope we will have a quality QB already here or on his way. I don't want to still be in need of a future QB down the road.
  4. Welcome to UNT Sed Ellis. http://rivals.yahoo....ed-Ellis-141068 Anyone know who recruited him?
  5. I've got a good friend at work, who has a master's from Troy. He did the whole thing online from here in Texas. In fact he has never taken any pride in that degree, and never comes up to watch Troy when they play us. I think he only got the thing to qualify for a raise, and Troy was the easiest and cheapest program avalible. It's sad that Forrest is being taken down by a degree that has no impact on his talent as a coach. What a bad choice. I do agree, how is it that we didn't catch it? Did he claim to earn it after he was already hired by UNT?
  6. I think we could use him. If he had that many problems at Kansas, he really needs to stay away from Miami. I feel good about the situation.
  7. Never said I was more intelligent. I'm just saying the Bleacher Report has a reputation for getting things wrong, like our stadium and our current helmet, when they ranked them earlier this year. As far as my success... I hold a few degrees, support my family and some people even think I have a little talent too. I'll post some pictures of what I do by next fooball season. Maybe I'll even build a website by then.
  8. Coker has something to sell in San Antonio. He will have no other competition for college football, and they play in the Alamo Dome. At most schools not having an on campus stadium would be a problem, but since San Anonio has no other FBS college or pro team, I don't think it will have the same negative impact, if the community embraces the program. We will see if all the losing effects how much the city supports them. I think Coker was a decent coach, but he is getting old. I wonder if he will be the Schnelly of UTSA, and go out the wrong way? Coker will have a harder time winning in C-USA, then Schnelly had in the Sun Belt.
  9. What programs offered this kid?
  10. It is the bleacher report, but at least we are ahead of SMU and TCU. Now if they could just get our current helmet and stadium right.
  11. I'm not happy this is dragging out either, but we need to land quality players for the move to C-USA, and this kid fits the bill. I think we stand as good a chance as any other program whe it comes to signing this guy.
  12. I think Steel had us around #63 heading into the 2005 season, and we all know how that year turned out.
  13. I kind of like it... for them.
  14. I think we have been fortunate in the "good luck" department this off-season. Between moving to C-USA, Mitchell coming back for another season, signing some quality coaches, winning a few conference championships, and landing a few quality players, I'm content. The helmet agrument can wait for another off-season.
  15. The (North Texas) video and graphics in both are excellent. The music is great too. I could do without the film dialog, and footage from the Bourne trilligy. Speaking of music,... I wish one of our fine music people would write a great musical score for our team's entrance. Something tough, similar to the Darth Vader theme music would be nice.
  16. I think TCU will become another whipping boy in the Big 12. Much like Baylor, I feel they will suffer long periods of struggling on the field, and winning seasons will come few and far between. In the end, I think TCU will fight it out with Baylor for the same DFW recruits they have been fighting over; mostly 3 star recruits that didn't get offers from Texas and OU. TCU was a safe add for the Big 12. I do think TCU will have more success recruiting nationally. I honestly think some of the recruits Baylor and TCU will fight over, will end up signing with Houston, SMU, and UNT.
  17. I really like our division. I hope it stays together.
  18. I wouldn't mind playing some of the remaining Sun Belt teams from time to time, but I'd prefer to see UNT focus on developing our series with SMU into an annual game, and scheduling more name teams like Indiana for home and home series. I hope we get to a point where we play 7 home games a season, against name teams.
  19. Very nice. I didn't see that when I went by there. +1.
  20. I saw the bridge yesterday. A few of the pillers are up. They have square designs in them, and look nice. I'll try to get some pics of the project next time I drive by there.
