I asked this question about a month ago, and I believe someone stated Aug. 6th as the start of practice. I don't remember who wrote it, but I'm almost certain that was the date. I read that they moved the 5K to another time of the year. Probably due to the heat. I haven't heard anything about the Kickoff Cookout yet, but it has to be happening soon.

I wanted to post a picture of the yard sign that Drex has made. These things came out great. I know they are for sale at Voertman's and online. He may be getting them into the stadium store and school bookstore too. I'm always glad to see a member of the Mean Green Nation step up and create something the rest of us want. Thanks Drex.

Wallgreens posted one by their UNT Shirt section. Game Stop, Smoothy King, Wing Stop, the that nail salon by Jersey Mike's, and the Sport's Authority. I'm sure there are a few more, but I can't remember.

I had a great time hanging posters with UNT90 around Denton today. We got around 34 posters in businesses around the Best Buy, Walmart, Kroger, and Target shopping centers. I hope all the other people had similar success. Thanks KRAM1 for organizing this event.

NBC 5 was at the Bridge today around noon. I just got back home. Have they run a story on it, or will it be for the 10 p.m. news?

I eat Chick-Fil-A all the time. If people don't want to eat there just because of how the owner thinks. Fine. More chicken for me.

They should not compete for years. That should have been part of the punishment.

I didn't expect us to be ranked at the top of the conference, but 8th is a slap in the face.

I think coaching is a larger part of success in a conference like the Sun Belt. Look what Mac was able to do in his first season, with few new players on the roster. I think solid coaching was a huge part of our turn around. At a higher level of college football I do believe it becomes more about the talent on the field. Once UNT moves to C-USA , it will become more about talent. Mac Brown has been a great recruiter, but I have always questioned his coaching, and the Horns have been quite successful.

Now that UTSA is in C-USA, maybe San Antonio will buy the Spud Bowl from Boise, and move it to their city. They could remane it the Taco Salid Bowl or something. The Big East won't want the bowl and the bowl won't want the WAC. It would be a good game to match a C-USA team with one from the MWC. Maybe the New Mexico Bowl too.

I don't know about that... The QT makes a pretty mean dog. They will leave those hot dogs on the cooker all day long. Get'em real nice and crunchy.

I would think the Liberty Bowl would go with Memphis, but I'm not sure if the Ticket City Bowl will go. From what I read, C-USA is the conference sponsor for the game, and it is played against the Big 10. I don't think the Big East can take it. I think the Hawaii Bowl wants to drop C-USA and add the Pac 12. Other bowls could be moving too.

I was looking at the same thing yesterday, and wondering the same thing. The Liberty Bowl runs through 2014, but it looks like all the others end in 2013 or 2012. The Liberty Bowl is a strange argeement, and I don't know if they will continue with C-USA after the current agreement ends. I wish C-USA could extend some of these bowls, but understand everyone is waiting to see which conferences are going to need to add bowls with membership changes.
