  1. "The Arkansas State Red Wolves and the Miami Hurricanes have scheduled a home-and-home football series for 2014 and 2017, ASU officiallyannounced today. An exact date has not been scheduled for the first game at Sun Life Stadium, but it will be played in either August or September of 2014. The second half of the series will be played in Jonesboro on Sept. 9, 2017." http://www.fbschedules.com/2013/06/arkansas-state-miami-finalize-2014-2017-home-and-home-football-series/ When will we sign a Home & Home with a major P5 program?
  2. I found a C-USA page at Fox Sports Southwest. They have an article about Tony going to the Pistons and one about North Texas adding televised games. It's not perfect, but better then anything we had with the Sun Belt. Here is a link to the homepage. http://www.foxsportssouthwest.com/ncaa/conference-usa
  3. More information: July 1, 2013 Denton, Texas - In conjunction with the Mean Green's move to Conference USA, the North Texas athletics website today began its move to CBSSports.com College Network, a move that will conclude with MeanGreenSports.com undergoing a complete redesign. CBS is the primary webhost for Conference USA members, including C-USA's own ConferenceUSA.com website. North Texas will join the CBSSports.com College Network, which hosts the athletic websites of more than 150 schools from conferences like the SEC, ACC, Big 10, Big 12, Big East and Pac-12. Its 21-million visitors per month have access to 17,000 live sports events streamed every year. http://onlyfans.cstv.com/schools/ntex/sports/m-footbl/spec-rel/062613aaa.html
  4. Looks like this site is going live on July 1st. Found this at CBS Sports. Right now the links on the site don't work, but it does give an idea about what the site will look like. http://onlyfans.cstv.com/schools/ntex/sports/m-footbl/spec-rel/062613aab.html
  5. Rice- Got to play in the SWC. I'm very jealous. LA Tech- Classic logo on their helmet. Bring back the Worm... UTSA- They get to be the only game in town. UTEP- National Title in basketball. Sorry, couldn't think of anything football related. Tulane- One time members of the SEC. I admire that. Tulsa- I admire their ability to recruit quality DFW talent.
  6. I was just wondering if meangreensports.com will move to CBSSports.com when UNT officially joins C-USA? Does anyone know? It seems like all of the C-USA programs have there sites with them.
  7. There are still too many unknowns heading into this season. QB, WR and the D-line are all areas that need to be addressed. I'll revisit this thread after we see how the position battles play out and know who is starting QB and who is rotating in at the WRs and D-line. I agree. I think we will have a strong secondary, and probably a strong LB corp.
  8. UNT's defense gave up 334 points last season. Our best season since 2006 when Dickey's team gave up 304 points. 2012 was a step in the right direction, but it will be very hard for us to improve on those numbers next season as move to C-USA and fight these issues on the D-line. I'm sure the coaches are looking at creatively repositioning players and finding redshirt/true freshmen that can step up.

  10. Happy birthday Harry.
  11. I watched DT under throw too many long passes at the spring game. I'm sure he is a good guy, but that doesn't improve his arm. If he wins the starting job, I don't think he will get it done.
  12. Everyone knows we have to win and win big, but the athletic department and Coach Mac need to continue to get the students out to the games the way they did at the beginning of last season. I hope the issue with our fight song is over. That freshman class that showed up at the beginning of last season needs come back as sophomores and sing our fight song with pride, and lead by example. The new freshman class will need them on game day.
  13. To be honest, I went to a few practices this Spring and Berglund was still learning the offense and working on reading the defenses. It looked like he had a better handle on it today. He should only get better by next season.
  14. I thought McNulty and Berglund did about as good as anyone could have with the second team O. If McNulty had not gone in and QB'd the first team at the end of the game, the White team probably would have hung on a won. I just wish we could have seen what Berglund could do with the starters. Plus, they didn't bring Berglund in to play for the third team. Everyone at the game today could see he had more ability then the other QBs. Could he excel on the first team and separate himself from the other QBs? I don't know. Today he didn't get the chance. McNulty got a chance, and I think he made the most of it.
  15. Berglund should have seen time with the first team like Thompson and McNulty did.
  16. I agree with this. NIU has a solid football program. I'd go after Ohio too. They are good in football and basketball. If C-USA needed to replace two programs, these are the two I'd target. Both would help keep the conference competitive and add new markets. I like ASU but I just don't think adding more Sun Belt programs is in the best interest of UNT.
  17. A "home and home" with Texas A&M or Oklahoma State would be nice.
  18. I asked Brett about the Tulsa series the other day at practice and he said he would look into it. I'm sure he will find out.

  20. This might have been posted before, but I haven't seen it. Sorry if I'm double posting. I looked up the distance between UNT and the other programs in C-USA West. Here is what I found: UNT to Tulsa: 213 miles UNT to Rice: 260 miles UNT to LA Tech: 265 miles UNT to UTSA: 274 miles UNT to UTEP: 554 miles 4 out of 5 isn't bad.
  21. If Berglund doesn't win the starting QB job, I think we will be in for a very long season. I think Pegram will win the starting spot and Jimerson and Byrd will be battling for back up time. Who wins the kick and punt return jobs will be fun to watch.
  22. North Texas and C-USA couldn't have hoped for much better news with this media deal. I just can't see anymore C-USA programs jumping ship for the new Big East. It will be interesting to see how Houston and SMU react to these numbers.
  23. I'd be good with these throw-backs too.

  25. Today Bill Mercer appeared on the Texas Daily. He was on there for about the last 20 minutes of the show, and had some nice things to say about Ol' North Texas. The show will re-air at 9:30 tonight on channel 47. Mercer fans will enjoy it.
