I'm tired of watching our games land on the internet. This is the same type of coverage we got in the Sun Belt. Can't we at least find a local station to carry the game?

I will enjoy a series with Houston, but it isn't a P5 home and home.

Sophomore Bussey is starting at WR ahead of Smiley. I think very highly of Bussey. I knew what North Texas was getting when we signed him. I think this might say a lot about how talented this year's WRs could be.

HOD is scheduled to have a BIG12 team this season. If that is the case, I will prefer we go there. If we can finish with a 7 win or better regular season, I could see us taking a very large crowd to face Texas, Tech, TCU, or Baylor in the historic Cotton Bowl. A win against one of those teams, would certainly improve recruiting for us, and place us squarely in the category of rapidly improving G5 programs.

I read the article, and still don't like the series, or understand the logic. If Army had to be dropped in 18 and 19, we could have just added New Mexico State to play at Apogee for both games. Those guys are hanging on to their FBS dreams by a fingernail. Right now, NMSU only has 6 games scheduled for 2018 and 5 for 2019. There was no need to give Liberty and home and home.

After giving myself a few days to think about this announcement,.... I still believe this is a bad series for North Texas. We don't need "home and home" series with an FBS newbie. This series does nothing to improve our brand or reputation within the college football world. Yes, I know the administration has said it is part of a larger scheduling plan that will make fans happy, but I don't see the logic in revealing this series without any positive news to go with it. Especially in the same week we learned the terrible news surrounding players and a coach from Benford's final season. Surely the powers that be can understand why some fans are shaking the heads. We need to hear a good announcement. (Ex: Home and Home with Oklahoma State)

I have nothing against Liberty. I just don't want them on our schedule. We need to be building better non-conference schedules, not signing "home and homes" with start ups. We need games with recognizable P5 programs. Syracuse still needs an OOC game in 2018 & 2021. Oklahoma State is in need of another OOC game in 2018. Come on, there had to be better options. I do not like this series with Liberty. I'd really like to hear the logic behind this.

On what channel did you watch this episode? I have not heard anything about a spring episode. Is it scheduled to air again?

The truth. That is a 2006 helmet. It is basically the script helmet from the end of the Dickey era with the current font on it. It would fall right between the two helmets on the top shelf of my avatar. The university adopted the current eagle logo and font before the 2005 season, and it was incorporated into the emerald helmets for the 2005 and 2006 seasons. The 2005 helmet is slightly different. It does not have a black outline on the font. The mask should be black. Someone has placed a white face mask on it. We never wore those helmets with white face masks and that font on it. If you buy it, change the mask. That helmet was short lived. RV hired Dodge and we wore the white Southlake style helmets starting in 2007. As you can see from my avatar, I am a helmet geek. I collect game helmets.

The title of this thread is very misleading. There will be no merger. Just because a few eastern ADs are having trouble with their finances, doesn't mean they have the votes. I wish the eastern programs would stop pushing this garbage in the media.

Fine didn't have as good of a game as I expected. How much of that was a result of a salty defense? I don't know. Overall, I think our O-line gave up too many sacks. The starting D looked better then I expected today. Overall the D seemed to be hitting harder then they did last spring. I know it was windy today, but I'm not very confident in our punting.

I look forward to heading down tomorrow morning. We plan to enjoy a late lunch at Old West Cafe before heading over for the game.

Totally agree. A two tone green and white uniform would look outstanding, and be very unique in the FBS. We need our own unique look.

FAU won 3 game last season and still got 2 games on this schedule. Every team from C-USA West got at least one game on this schedule, except North Texas. That is a slap in the face. I'd like to hear Baker's opinion of this schedule.
