  1. I'd be happy to have Sumlin. He knows how to recruit Texas. And the fact that a Houston fan came all the way over just to deter our interest tells me they might ne nervous about the prospects of a Sumlin lead North Texas program. I have a general opinion that any hire the fans of other programs like, is probably not the best hire UNT could make. And, any hire that they hate, is probably the best move we could make.
  2. Every aspect of this conference has regressed since she took over as the commissioner... media money, bowl ties, television exposure, stability, accountability, .... Judy just smiles and attempts to pump sunshine. She is obviously content to collect her check and say whatever she is told to say, instead of honestly admit the problems within our conference. Does she have the pull to enact measures to correct our issues? No, that is the job of our presidents. But, she could attempt to sway them into action, or at least stand for something positive. No, she is just content to continue propping herself up behind the wheel of our sinking ship. And, that makes her useless.
  3. C-USA has become a turd. Unfortunately, we are part of the reason why. But even so, UNT still doesn't need C-USA and the Sun Belt to realign. North Texas just needs to get serious about football and fix our issues. Marshall proved that a C-USA team can get ranked and stay ranked. They crapped their pants against Rice and blew it, but that is on them, not C-USA. Now, I do believe our athletic directors need to clean house at the conference head quarters. Judy has been a terrible commissioner since day one, and needs to go.
  4. Darden had a great season. So glad he was selected to the team. But in my opinion, he should have been on the first team. He recorded the second most TD's in a season over the last 5 years, and did in only 9 games. That is incredible. I look forward to seeing where he gets drafted.
  5. Everyone knows defense is in a worse position, but as coach Littrell needs to address all of the issues. And, the lingering concern of having a single starting QB needs to be fixed too. We cannot continue to waffle between QB's. When a team has two QB's they don't have one. Mordecai is proof that SMU continues to make the bigger moves, while Littrell continues to patch together his substandard system. We need a new coach that can match programs we want to claim are our peers.
  6. Like I stated, while Mordecai has fewer games played, it was against mostly P5 caliber opposition. Do you really think Aune and Bean are better than Mordecai, and we will beat SMU next season? A win over next a Mordecai lead SMU team will be a long shot at best. Every reasonable Mean Green fan knows where our program is headed if we continue under Littrell. This train wreck began 2 seasons ago, and will continue until our administration gets serious about football, like they did with basketball.
  7. He is certainly more proven than either Aune or Bean. Mordecai has a QB rating of 174.4 this season, while Aune finished with a rating of 148.4 and Bean finished with a rating of 145, despite Littrell nationally ranked offense. Mordecai had limited snaps, but those were also against mostly P5 competition too. Do you think Littrell is going to beat SMU's retooled team next season? Cause I'm willing to say we will lose again next season. Nothing Littrell is doing to improve matches up to what our adversaries are doing. There have been red flags for years. We need to be honest about what we are in for next season.
  8. Lets be honest. Littrell isn't going to fix anything. Seth focused all of his energy on skill position player and ignored the lines until the last two recruiting classes. It's the reason Mason Fine had to be scraped off the turf throughout his hall of fame career at UNT. While we have more talent on the lines now, they still won't be good enough to win in the trenches against the better G5 programs. Next season.. SMU with their new proven Oklahoma transfer QB, will stomp a mud hole in us. UTSA, a team that didn't even have a DC for the second half of their 2020 season, will beat on us like a rented mule. And, LA Tech will extend their domination of us. Littrell is 1-4 against the poor small school from Ruston Louisiana. Seth Littrell has not beaten a team with a winning record since the middle of the 2018 season, and if he is allowed to coach UNT in 2021, he won't beat one next season either. Under Littrell we should beat a few bottom feeders and an FCS program next season, but we will not contend for the division title. And, if we happen to back into another bowl game, we will get thumped again. Littrell is stubborn. He believes his system. He believes that proper execution of his system is the formula for success. He is too stubborn to realize that the bulk of his system's success comes against weak competition, or in games after UNT has been put away. His stubbornness is the reason our team is bad at in game adjustments. Littrell just wants to keep doing what he does. Which is why we will continue to keep losing. In December of next year, if Littrell is still our coach, than we will be lamenting another losing season. And, I will be typing more of the same facts, and some on this board will probably still be typing the same tired excuses.
  9. I'm old as dirt. My home town lived and breathed football. Losing was something that was never accepted. It was a simple philosophy. "The coach don't win, the coach don't stay". I will never understand why so many Mean Green fans seem content to accept failure, or at the very least, make excuses for it.
  10. I stated this last December, and I believe it is even more true today. Except now I believe we are in a worse position. I whole heartedly believe UNT is at the point where we must make a change at head coach. Eye rollers and down voters can now throw back their green Kool-Aid and make their excuses for Littrell.
  11. And, gave an alternative too. I believe Mark Snyder is still available.
  12. I ever pointed out facts as to why Bowen was a questionable hire.
  13. I questioned the objectivity of a fair portion of the posters on this board, but too many still wanted to stay the course.
  14. Got 5 down votes for dropping this truth bomb last December. And, I was being optimistic about the Bowen hire.
  15. Not buying that excuse. The AD had money ready to send the basketball team to the Diamondhead Classic. The AD also paid to fly UTEP in, put them up in a hotel, and play at Apogee. Plus, buyouts are not paid all at once. And, the assistants work on one year contracts. Littrell could be gone tomorrow if our AD would do what is best for our program. If he won't hopefully our president and BOR will.
  16. I'll add more perpective for you. Littrell piles up most of those offensive stats in the second half of games we are being blown out of, meaning they are garbage stats added after games have been decided and the opponents back ups are on the field.
  17. The fact that this type of embarrassment is tolerated is the exact reason why so many of our 300,000 alums walk away from this program. My hope is that our university leadership will make the tough call and move this program in a new direction. If not, than I guess we will continue in the cycle of losing our fan base. It really is up to the university leadership which way we go.
  18. Clean house. If Wren won't do it, clean out his office too.
  19. I agree. If Wren won't get Littrell out of here, than he needs to go too. Littrell has now gone 33 straight games without beating a winning program. Our defense is the worst I've seen since Mendoza, and Littrell hired the guy. Why he thought a DC from Kansas could build us a winner is beyond me. I'm ready to fire everyone. This garbage must stop.
  20. It is one thing to get beat badly. It is entirely something else to get beat giving up multiple 1 play drives of over 60 yards for touchdowns. No program should allow that. Littrell has to answer for it. If Wren doesn't address it he will lose even more of this fan base. What we are being feed is crap!
  21. Meaningless junk TD after the game's been decided, that Littrell will point to as a sign of improvement in his post game press conference. Sadly some on this board will agree with him. Terrible.
  22. How many more TD's will App State score with 8 minutes left in the game?
