Littrell, Baker, and the players need to apologize to the entire Mean Green Nation for this embarrassment. Pathetic effort. This is completely unacceptable. FAU is going to beat our a$$e$ (AGAIN) on Thursday. I wonder if Littrell will (AGAIN) claim there were no adjustment to make? -

We are going to lose. Why can't our coaches adjust to what they are doing? This is terrible. We are going to lose to a 2 win team. Just terrible! -

As our defense is attempting to figure out how to play, I'm watching a commercial on ESPN3. -

I am completely disgusted with the leadership of C-USA. Yes, ODU has an absolutely terrible broadcast, but it should at least be reliable. It is bad enough almost all of our conference games are relegated to streaming, but we can't even view the game now. Next time the athletic department asks me how they are doing, I will tell them they are doing a good job, except for when it comes to holding our conference leadership accountable. C-USA needs better leadership. -
Beaty Will Not Be Retained at the Conclusion of the Season LAWRENCE, Kan. – David Beaty will not be retained as Head Football Coach at the University of Kansas at the conclusion of the season, KU Athletics Director Jeff Long announced today. "After a thorough evaluation of the program, I believe that new leadership is necessary for our football team to move forward and compete at the highest level of the Big 12 Conference," Long said. "I know that Coach Beaty cares deeply about his players, and I respect that. The student-athletes on this team have continued to play hard – and I am confident they will do that for the rest of the season." Beaty has coached the Jayhawks for three-plus seasons, amassing a 6-39 record, 2-31 in Big 12 Conference play. He will continue to coach the team until the regular season concludes against Texas on Friday, November 23. He signed a five-year contract in December 2014, which was extended two years (through 2021) in December 2016. Long informed Beaty of his decision Sunday and met with the football team directly afterwards. "The search for a new head coach will begin immediately," he said. https://kuathletics.com/news/2018/11/4/football-beaty-will-not-be-retained-at-the-conclusion-of-the-season.aspx

Is 8 Wins/Year Littrell's Ceiling Here?
Side Show Joe replied to MGNation92's topic in Mean Green Football
I'm adjusting my expectations as we go. Right now, a 10 win season with a bowl victory looks about as good as we can hope for. Which in a usual season that would be outstanding. See you tomorrow night. Go Mean Green!!! -
I'll be there with a few extra, but don't think we top 25K.

Seth Littrell Weekly Press Conference post UAB
Side Show Joe replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
Littrell said there were no adjustments to be made.... If that were the case we would have continued to control the game throughout the night. When the offense can't score in the entire second half, there are adjustments to be made. When the offense can't convert on 3rd and 1, or 4th and 1, there are adjustments of some kind to be made. In my opinion we lost to LA Tech because injuries took there toll and we were unable to adjust. That isn't on the coaches or the players. We just didn't have the depth or experience to overcome those injuries. It's part of the growing process of a rebuilding program. The loss to UAB really hurts because we had a lead and should have been able to maintain it. Simply put, the offense didn't get it done, and I place that squarely on our coaches, especially if they truly believe there were "no adjustments to be made". That statement implies that our execution at a key position(s) was the reason we lost, which seems to imply we have a starter or a few that just aren't good enough. If that is the case, then our coaching staff didn't adequately address our needs in the off season. I'm glad we have a game tomorrow, so I can forget about this one. -
Why not build a financial fortress around Littrell now?

Mark Mangino took Kansas to a top 10 ranking. I will never understand why he didn't get another head coaching job. -
UTSA’s new Cannon is ferocious we should fear them
Side Show Joe replied to Legend500's topic in Mean Green Football
Can we get the UTSA flag in the Wingzone replaced with this one!!! -
As you know, we were not there for the game. Having to drive down 2 hours from the Red River was just too challenging since we would be fighting the torrential rain and flood waters the entire way. I hated missing the game, but the conditions were just too dangerous. I understand and support Wren's call for support, but agree his wording could have been better. I do believe that if the kickoff would have been the usual 6pm start, the weather would not have been an issue and the crowd would have been much larger. But, no one can schedule kickoffs around the weather from so far in advance.

This is a textbook self inflicted wound. Bad leadership @ UTSA. Our students should either steal that ugly thing, or build a replica of it, and then throw it on our Homecoming Bonfire and burn it. -
I have my season tickets, and purchased two additional tickets for my brother and his wife. They will be coming the Rice game with me. Hopefully, I can get some others to join in too.

I'm not arguing. I agree. We should have run the ball more, especially in the 2nd quarter. But, it doesn't change the fact that our O-line was not reliable in pass protection.
-
Agreed. LA Tech was not better, they just wanted it more, and that makes this loss a hard pill to swallow.
-
It was soft in pass protection.

I don't view the loss of an undefeated season as a "light impact". North Texas has been playing football for over a 100 season, and we have never posted an undefeated season. The impact of this loss carries much weight. Assuming we beat UTEP next week, we would have returned home to face Southern Miss with a 6-0 record. And remember, Wren has been very creative with the promotions. I absolutely believe that USM game would have had a real chance of selling out. But, none of that is in play now. That ship has sailed.

Overall, I think our defense did a good job last night. Mental mistakes by too many players (in every faze of the game) turned the game from a blow out win, into an up hill climb, and we did not get to the top. I will say I believe both our offensive and defensive lines are soft. Fine had almost no time to pass, and Smith had all day. That is not acceptable.
-
No, it is an acknowledgment of of the truth. Yes, we will still win games and go bowling. And, those of us that post here on the board will be there in two weeks when we play Southern Miss, and yes, the students will continue to show up in large numbers, but that isn't enough. There was a large number of attendees that are not students and are not regulars at games. A good amount of those will not be back. You can believe they will, but you will be proven wrong in two weeks. We were up 21-6 in the first quarter and on our way to a blow out win, and we blew it. There are consequences for that. Last night we lost more then just an ordinary game.... We lost at least one player for the season. We lost our undefeated season. We lost our ability to control our destiny in C-USA. We lost all of our votes in the Coaches and AP rankings. We lost our positive coverage from ESPN and other national sports media. We lost our positive coverage in the DFW media. And because we lost all of these things, we have lost any chance of seeing another 30K+ crowd at Apogee this season.

Be loud. Be very loud. MeanGreen Texan and I can't do it all. I know there will be fans in the section that normally are not be in attendance. If you are one of them, be sure you let LA Tech know you are there tonight. The Mean Green Nation must be heard loud and clear tonight. Go Mean Green!!!
