O k like I said just don't get upset when they are that color. I didn't see too many people get upset with the way we played and the records we had under Hayden Fry. Just remember that Hayden and Mac were and are good friends,and ask yourself "Would you do something for your freind to show appreciation for helping you get a new chance at coaching at a school he coached at also". Just remember the color of tie coach Mac keeps wearing. Look at every picture since he has been here and the color of the tie he wears. Food for thought. You might not like it, but a lot of people like the worm and remember the color of the uniforms with the worm. I bet if we had that color jersy and won five games this year not a one of you would gripe about the color of the uniforms.

Another Alumni and I were discussing ideas yesterday and wondered if there is a possibility of the new uniforms being the same color of the ones in the Hayden Fry era (Lite Lime Green). If anyone has a color image of them can you post on the Forum along with any other thoughts you might have on this. There might be the possibility of the return of the worm. Remember the helments back then. Hayden and our new coach were great freinds, and could there be the possiblity that he could bring the old color back. Look at the color of the tie he always wears when he is at a function (lime lite green).

Scrappyman1 Just checked the NCAA website and it has North Texas rated seventh in the feild at the site at San Diego. GO MEAN GREEN. The top five teams will go to the finals.

Does anyone know why we at North Texas don't ever hold a basketball tournament and have N.T., U.T.A., S.M.U., and T. C. U. That would pull in T V coverage, lots of people in attendance, and coverage of the media. I have wondered this for a while, does anyone know why we don't hold a tournament of some type?

I was at the Rangers game and got to go to the suite and meet Coach. He is great and has great plans for North Texas. He knows what we have, what we need, and how long it will take to get to where we need to go. It was great talking to him. He reminds me so much of Hayden Fry. After talking to him for about 10 minutes I truly believe he has what it takes to get the players up for the games and getting that 110% out of them. I truly believe we will be able to see a great difference in the team, maybe not in wins at first, but in attitude and output. He will truly impress anyone he talks to and he is great for the perception of NORTH TEXAS FOOTBALL.

Just got my Mean Green Club sticker for my car. It along my Univ. of North Texas License plates makes everyone know I am a Mean Green Fan. I recommend everyone that can to send in to join the Mean Green Club. I am looking forward to this season, because I feel we will turn it around and make a bowl game with a 7-5 win season. GO MEAN GREEN

I feel that both Canales and DeLoach will stay on the staff if offered, and that is a pretty good chance. I think they will see the possiblities and want to be a part of something big.

I see reported attendance was 21,952. I think our average for the year should be the best in the last four years and probably a lot more that the SMU's of the world. I feel it is odd that every paper and/or post from ESPN etc. feel that the McCartney hire will only be good for us. I say let's wait and see how it pans out. Give him a chance and then GO MEAN GREEN.

North Texas 28 Rice 24 The start of a good year for the Mean Green begins. GO GREEN Big D

As I said on Sunday the line would be us by 1 1/2 to 3 was correct. I believe we get some interceptions and a fumble and our Running back makes them pay big time. In no way can rice stop our run. Clemson didn't so why should Rice. The Rice Texas game was 34-3 at one time and 34-10 until 5 seconds in the game. I feel as if we had really tried we could have scored at the end of the Clemson game making it 35-17. I guarantee you 35-17 vs Clemson is a lot better than Texas showed in 34-17 vs. Rice. Watch and see WE WILL BEAT RICE. PUT IT ON THE BOARD. We also will win a lot of games this year. Ark State, FIU, U.L. Monroe, are no Clemson.

I feel the line on this game will be anywhere from Nt by 1 1/2 to Rice by 3. Anyone else feel the same. I know it won't be a large line for either team. I feel as though we will win since I think we will have a large home crowd for the first home game.

Here in Waco we don't get to see many games on TV that I can't come to, but the way the team looked today makes me feel proud of our team. I along with the rest of you have suffered the last few years, but I feel this year will make up for that. I feel like HOLD ON because you haven't see anything yet, and I think we are in for a great year. After seeing the game today, the score could have been at least 7 points less or 10 more for us. It will be fun next week when I come to see us Beat the Owls. I predict us by 7 over Rice. See everyone then. BIG D

I have not seen as many positive posts on this board in years, and anything which causes that has to be great. It seems as if for the moment the hire has brought everyone together. Now I just hope that we have a great recruiting class to go along with it. All I can say is GO MEAN GREEN.

I HAVE HAD SEASON TICKETS FOR A FEW YEARS NOW, AND IN NO WAY WAS THE ATTENDANCE DOWN THIS YEAR. WE HAD 23,000 FOR THE ARMY GAME VS THE ARK STATE GAME LAST YEAR WHICH WAS ABOUT 11,000. ALSO, I WILL FOREVER BE A MEAN GREEN FAN, ALUMNI AND TORCHBEARER NO MATTER WHAT. I CAN TRUELY SEE IMPROVEMENT THIS YEAR OVER LAST. CLOSER GAMES, LESS BLOWOUTS, AND YES, MORE HEARTBREAK,BUT AT LEAST WE ARE IN A NUMBER OF GAMES TO THE END. JUST LOOK OHIO BEAT US BY ONE IN 2 O.T.'S. THEY HAVE A 9-3 RECORD. SO, I ONLY HOPE WE GIVE DODGE ONE MORE YEAR TO SEE IF IT IS REALLY TURNING AROUND. I HOPE SO, IN ORDER FOR THE CONTINUOUS NEGATIVE FANS ON THIS BOARD SHUT UP!!!!!!! I REMEMBER WHEN THE YEAR STARTED ALL WE HEARD FROM POSTERS WAS "I WILL BE HAPPY IF WE ARE IN MOST GAMES AND THEY ARE CLOSE". EVIDENTLY THEY HAVEN'T NOTICED WE LOST SEVEN (7) GAMES BY SEVEN (7) OR FEWER POINTS. WHAT WAS IT LAST YEAR ABOUT 20 POINTS PER GAME. JUST CHECK. ANYWAY, I WILL FOREVER BLEED GREEN. STAY THE COARSE.

Come on and let's suffer through the last two games. We might be pleasantly surprised. Let's see if we can pull it out vs. Army next week. It seems as if Army can't stop the pass, so maybe we have a chance. GO MEAN GREEN

Ok when this year started mostly what was written by most was that if we could be competitive in most games and win 3-4 it would show improvement. Well we lost in double overtime to Ohio by 1 point (Ohio has won more than us), Lost by two at the end, Lost by four in the final few minutes, and lost by 7 in the final few minutes. In at least two of the games we could have scored and maybe won at the end. I think that shows improvement and also competitive in the games. If those close games were won we would be at 6 wins right now. Keep up the fignt WE ARE SHOWING IMPROVEMENT. Look at Texas Tech, because they had a pass intercepted and lost in the end. We are not the only team with mistakes. We are a young team making mistakes, and with a year on us the mistakes should cease some. Give the team a chance and I truely believe you will see improvement and a great difference next year. Would we have lost four games by 7 points or less last year (NO! NO! NO!), because we got our butts handed to us last year, but at least this year we are making a game of it on most games. Our time will come, just wait.

Just to remind everyone that when the year started many posts were saying "If we can stay close in some games and show some improvement that they would be happy". We have many players who are Sophmores and Freshman that are starting, and when you have that many you will have mistakes,etc. We have a Freshman redshirt Quarterback who plays like it some games and plays like a Junior or Senior other games. If I am not wrong we lost in double overtime by one point, then a game by two points and a game by four points which were close. I feel like we still have a surprise victory in us maybe two. That would make us three or four wins, which I saw many on here post they predicted. Let's wait till the season is over and see how the last three games come out. Give the young players a chance and GO MEAN GREEN. You have to admit it is good looking at the lines in the paper and not seeing North Texas a a double digit underdog. I have only seen it two or three times this week, and it is only Two (2) this week, because it is a FIU, and they get points for being at home. We may have bad teams, but I will forever be green, because I know the day will come in the not to distant future that I will be proud to have my NORTH TEXAS plates on my car, and my North Texas shirt that I wear will be noticed by all in a good way.
