Just heard on the radio that a very reliable source in Austin says within 10 days Texas, Texas Tech, Oklahoma, and Oklahoma State will go to the Pac 10. This leaves the Baylor Bears, Kansas(word says to the big East), Kansas State, and Missouri to try to do something. Maybe all is not lost yet. I feel with coach Mac we would be accepted in the MWC or the C USA when we asked. It is a very mobile situation with A & M leaving the Big 12 and I beleive there will be much moving and shaking going on the next few months. With the President we have and the contacts we have made recently there is no end to what we could do that might surprise everyone. We might be in for a pleasant surprise before this is all over. I hope that I am not the only one who noticed every team in the area except UNT in todays sport section of the Dallas Morning News, evidently, their writer in Denton (Brett) was to lazy as usual to post anything when everyone else did. We wonder why we are not prevelant in Dallas then there is one reason. Our Poor to say the least coverage in the Dallas paper. It is a shame how little coverage we get in the paper compared to what we got five years ago. I guess Brett is just too busy covering the local high schools to give North Texas the coverage they deserve. We have a new coach, a new stadium, and new mind set, with the same old P---Poor coverage of our university. It is a shame to say the least. I have read article after article that states that a team who has a bunch of injuries one year will end up wining one to two more games than they did the year with injuries due to the experience of the players forced to have playing time because of the injuries and due to the experience they gained. I truely belive we will win at least five games one of which will be Indiana by three to five points, as well as FAU, LALA, Mid Tenn, and Western Kentucky Don't be surprised with another win thrown in there against either Ark State or La Monroe. I saw when Hayden Fry was at N.T. how he could fire up the players, and they played so high above their expectations that we won games when we were not supposed to. I truely believe with coach Mac he will be able to do the same and we will be pleasantly surprised

I also agree it is terrible to have a beat writer like Brett who never has anything in the DMN like a school to the south of us. I know there is news daily to report, but we are lucky if there is only a short paragraph about things going on at UNT. I feel we should all write the DMN complaining about the lack of UNT coverage and also complain to Brett about his lack of intrest in writing articles about the team, stadium, and school. It is a shame to have the poor coverage we get in newsprint as well as radio and tv coverage. SCRAPPYMAN 1

I totally agree the next thing we need is an indoor practice facility and that way in the winter after football the other sports could also practice there when the weather is bad. Ok my guess is either Southwest Airlines or Coke. Anyone else have any ideas. I think it is great that North Texas has someone willing to put their name on our stadium. That means a lot more people have more faith in North Texas these days than they did in the past. They see the possibility that we will be doing a lot better on the football field than previously. I just can't believe the naysayers continually saying Three wins. Now way in H---- will we only win three games. Just think of the games we lost by 1-3-4 points last year. Coach will be able to get the kids to play above their heads enough to get us at least FIVE if not SIX games (Put it on the board). Coach Fry could also get the players to play above their heads. Unfortunately I live in Waco and the only Supposidly Sportstalk Radio station in Dallas I can get is 103.5 The Fan. If I go about 5-10 miles to the north I can get 1310 The Ticket. I hate 103.5 The Fan because they give us no kudos at all. Anyway I wish everyone some day could call in 103.5 and invite them to the first game and let them see first hand the great new stadium we have. All I can say is: GO MEAN GREEN. Ok Everyone I continue to read projection after projection to us going 4-8 or 5-7, or some at 6-6. All of them think we will go 1-4 in out of conference with the lone win against Indiana, which would be huge considering they are a Big 10 school. I feel we will be 5-7 or even 6-6 because I feel McCarney and our previous acting head coach can get the team to play above their heads and win at least one game we shouldn't. In another note. I continued to say the uniforms would be a light colored green like when Hayden was here and guess what they were. Just get ready this will be one of the most exciting years at North Texas in years. I was one of the Alumni that nearly cried when I saw this. I have been waiting since 1969 for this day. A day I can be proud to say look at where our University plays their football games. It is a place we can all be proud of, a coach we can be proud of and a team we can also be proud of win or lose. GO N.T. GO MEAN GREEN

I am off today and saw an article on TXCN TV about the stadium. It wasn't great but at least it gave us some exposure. If a number of us could e-mail ESPN about them having an article about the stadium since it was the same company that built Cowboy Stadium it would help us even more. Everyone e-mail ESPN today.
