Firing Rick Villareal doesn't seem like a change of heart to you?

Get rid of helmets and you'll get rid of concussions. Sounds counter intuitive doesn't it? But in trying to protect people the game actually became more violent. Broken noses, jaws may have been prevalent during the leather helmet days but I can almost guarantee concussions were far less common than today. Why? because you didn't lead with your head and there wasn't the reckless abandon the way there has been in modern football. It would be interesting to see the ratio between American football (helmets) and Rugby (no helmets) vis a vis CTE.

So when a team is winning and going to bowl games you have a story line about winning and bowl games you can follow - if you're producing a TV show about the team. (2013) BUT If you're losing, badly, and often, you have to find a new story line to follow - camaraderie, take attention away from the actual game (that was lost) etc etc. (2014) Players didn't suddenly discover Mario Cart in 2014. I assure you those MC nights were happening in 2013 as well.

Perhaps it is a matter of scheme and nothing more. Or maybe the inside receivers coach saw something in KB's athletic ability that made him say: While good at DB this kid would be great at slot. I wouldn't read too much more into it than coaches assessing talent and putting that talent where it could help the most. Imagine for a moment that Buyers never got a shot at slot - goes pro - they run him out at slot and it works. This place would start gnashing its teeth ala Olawale about how the staff doesn't recognize or put talent in the right places. And, finally, no harm in trying him there - it isn't like he's going to forget how to play DB after 15 days of playing slot.

MGB: NCAA shuts down satellite camps, thoughts on impact for UNT

Could we not also do a camp at our South Dallas Campus? (Pretty sure there are no athletic facilities but it's still a campus.) -

You'll probably not like the University sponsored billboards that read: "Find your Cawws at UNT" I may not have that exact but thats the gist and they did use CAW to spell "cause" -
Interesting take. He was recruited by Seth, and Keith Heckendorf at UNC. Close to home should he be homesick. Plus UNC replaced Seth at OC with their O-line coach. Heckendorf was moved to pass game coordinator from QB coach. So how excited would you be as RS QB to go from Seth as OC to an O-line coach being the guy and your QB coach moving over? I like where your head is Marty.

Are you speaking of Sir Calvin? He may be graduating. Dude is very smart. Math major I think. McNair has a child in Florida which may explain why he left.

It's a shame no one is going to coach the LB's.

Is Denton in Decline?
adman replied to Side Show Joe's topic in The Eagles Nest (There Should be Pie For Everyone Forum)
Thats cool. I grew up in a small town in East Texas. Wouldn't trade it for the world. Your question regarding crime got me thinking so I started doing some research. Some interesting stats. So overall crime in Burkburnett is 1.08 times higher than it is in Denton. Denton does have higher violent crime numbers with robbery and rape being the two driving forces. Assault and murder are a near dead heat however. http://www.areavibes.com/compare-results/?place1=Denton%2C%20TX&place2=Burkburnett%2C%20TX#cri -

Position Group Rankings Part 2 - Wide Receivers
adman replied to BillySee58's topic in Mean Green Football
There are so many questions for QB that I think you HAVE to put Dillman back at that position. If Morris doesn't get it done then what? You've got year one with nothing and then you're moving to a RS freshman the next year with the OK Kid? what a huge roll of the dice. (Insert Indian Casino joke here) Of course there is the chance you land another transfer QB or Juco QB again next year but that seems more rinse and repeat. -
Middle Tennessee Raises Over $105 Million

LSU? As in THE Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge not fielding a college football team? Whomever is doing that talking might be a few crawfish short of a mud bug boil. -

Elkhart HS - Jeffrey Wilson's school is about 100 students smaller. Just about all the other East Texas HS are twice the size enrollment or larger - the great exception is Clarksville. Chapel Hill - 860, Pine Tree - 1324, Carthage 735, John Tyler - 2047, Whitehouse - 1325, Sulpher Springs - 1134, Marshall - 1547, Van - 665 Clarksville, where Jarrian Roberts is from is even smaller than Locust Grove - total enrollment of Clarksville is 198.

I don't think BV did himself any favors with the coaching staff by writing what he did.

Isn't it rumored we may be moving to a 3-3-5? If so, could it be that Eli didn't look to fit well in that scheme?

why'd he quit?

Could we get Jordan Stevenson's entire O-line from his senior year too?

The average salary for a Div 1 HFC was $1.64 Million in 2012. So perhaps he was just looking for something near market rate. http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/ncaaf/2012/11/19/college-football-coaches-contracts-analysis-pay-increase/1715435/

Marcus Trice was a safety, not cornerback, @Brett Vito.
