Denton is considered part of the DFW DMA - which is the 5th largest DMA in the country. Austin is ranked 40th. DMA stands for "Designated Market Area" -
Well, first JWP will have to be convicted. So far it's just charges. And everyone is innocent until proven. But let's assume he is convicted though and sentenced to a lengthy prison term. I don't think JWP will be pardoned by President Obama. And I put forth this wager to you. The loser of our argument makes a $125 donation to the Mean Green Club in the name of the winner. Bet's off if no conviction or JWP dies before sentencing. Deal?

I heard about this guy one time named Hoffa who was pardoned by a President named Nixon specifically so President Nixon could "earn" the teamster's votes in the '72 elections. If someone told me a sitting President was striking a deal with a convicted felon in hopes of buying an election I'm not sure I would have believed it. Fortunately that President recorded the deal in its entirety, as it happened in his Presidential office, and I got to listen to it myself. Politics sure be funny.

There is a Mean Green oasis right in your own backyard friend. Tis called The Silo on 7th (1300 E. 7 St) Mean Green owned and operated. Scrappy even nests in the dining area. We may be outnumbered come Aug. 31 but we will most certainly own the top of the hill on East 7th. Come one. Come all. -

BTW - if you've never been to Vickery Park you really owe it to yourself to eat while there. Superb. It's not a hot wings in a red plastic basket type place. Chef driven menu at bar food prices. -
I don't see how breaking away, paying players etc. stops the cheating. If boosters are willing to pay recruits now, they'll be just as willing later and the cheating continues.

Convention Center Update/Criticism/Debate
adman replied to UNTeagle88's topic in Mean Green Football
I disagree on the fence and the garbage concerns. I don't think you want to wall things off. It kills the feel of the whole area. And limiting access to and from for those staying in the hotel etc isn't a good thing. It's not as though game day brings out marauding hordes of visigoths. As for garbage concerns at the convention/hotel area by game dayers - it's simply a matter of expanding Apogee trash patrol to those areas if needed. But I've always felt our tailgaters in general are very respectful of the area and do a good job of keeping things picked up. I'm guessing there won't be conventions every home game so that enormous parking lot may be a new cash option for some. -

Aren't you the same guy that nearly got "mugged" at a DART station a year or two ago by a "thuggish" guy who sprang out of nowhere in the night? You are a rather hysterical type. And for the record, overall, in middle class (white) america, the word nigger has been replaced in the last 6/7 years ever so effectively and somewhat surprisingly by the following: Thug(s) Socialist(s) Muslim(s) My apologies to the board for perhaps taking this off thread. Back on topic - everyone - "THUG" or not is innocent until proven guilty. So let's tap the breaks until we learn more.

Passionate and loyal to a program that stands to lose in this - but ask someone that is a fan in Oklahoma or Nebraska or the other 23 states that don't have a professional football team. Now their school/state can sign unlimited players to make the best team possible. This starts a whole new professional league. (More professional than the SEC already is.) I don't think those fans stop watching or caring.- 53 replies

Can I go ahead and vote to bring men's soccer back to all Div.1 schools and lets have a March madness ala world cup tournament each year. Less concussions, less dollars for schools to support and a great way to gamble.- 53 replies

I feel like this should scare the pants off the NFL. They are very close to having a new league competing against them and one that you could argue would have more passionate, loyal fans. Perhaps, this leads to the NFL being forced to start its own farm system. And then it becomes a real battle for players.- 53 replies

NT offers Lynch RB Rawleigh Williams III
adman replied to GreenBat's topic in UNT Football Recruiting
Agreed. His short, under the knees stride is very reminiscent of J-Mo. This kid looks to have good vision, good balance and good speed. (Although from his hudl vid not the top end gear Jamario had - but not many do.) I would be excited for him to join the Mean Green Family.
