  1. Moving Lemon to tackle probably didn't help cohesion of the OL. I think Ybarbo has a fairly significant ankle issue that happened early in the SMU game and is just taping it up and gutting it out. Kirby's had some shaky snaps in every game and appears to have called a few wrong audibles at times. This would be where my mind goes as to what some of the issue(s) may be. Then of course having an unsure QB making some mistakes and not making many plays creates some negative energy that probably effects some things as well.
  2. http://www.cbssports.com/collegefootball/eye-on-college-football/24713617/texas-qb-david-ash-is-giving-up-football We've seen the last of David Ash as a football player, and frankly, it's the best move for him to make. Texas coach Charlie Strong announced Wednesday evening that the quarterback is giving up football. Strong said Ash approached him to let him know and that "we kind of saw this" coming. Strong also said that while Ash will no longer play football for the Longhorns, that doesn't mean he'll no longer be a part of the team. Strong said Ash had been a "major part of this program" and that he'll continue to be a part of this team." Ash missed most of the 2013 season thanks to a concussion, and even though he was medically cleared to return this season, he suffered another concussion during Texas' opener against North Texas. Considering his history of concussions and what we continue to discover about their long-term effects, stepping away from the game is probably the best decision Ash could make. He's only 22 years old and has his entire life ahead of him.
  3. One thing that really impressed me with Dajon - There was one play where Harris or Kidsy was running down the left sideline, Dajon stood in the pocket waiting for that extra half second knowing he was going to get creamed as soon as he released the ball but he stood there shot it down the field for a big completion and took a solid hit.
  4. In 1991 Coach Patrick won a National Championship playing at Miami (undefeated) - there wasn't a single starter on the defensive line that weighed over 270-ish lbs. They played Nebraska for the Championship and won 22-0. Much can be done with small, speedy D.
  5. As long as we can sustain drives to at least our opponents 33 yd line we should get points on the board every time.
  6. 21-12 RUSH the field.
  7. If giving up one 33 yard pass is a bad game then I guess you are right.
  8. I too think it will be a close game. Good news is that our new FG kicker looks to be good from as far away as 50yd. Our DB's look to be good enough to cover anyone allowing the Chad Polks and Jarrian Roberts of the world to get solid pressure on the QB. I think this game comes down to both teams trying to impose their will by running the ball.
  9. John Skladany will finish his career at North Texas. (Mac as well.)
  10. Mason is concerning. I think Rex Rollins will also be on the injury list. Saw Dajon leaving after the game and he seemed to be walking fine.
  11. Did you happen to see him being administered to by the training staff? I suspect his season is over.
  12. agreed. hobbled around like an ankle injury. Hopefully nothing severe.
  13. Plastic cups anyone?
  14. Duck Dynasty shirts! I don't get it but I sure do like it. Getting the jump on LaTech.
  15. Every year for the last several there have been UNT banners on light poles running down the medians of major streets such as Carroll Ave in Denton.
  16. Agreed. And they'd be silly not to sell Ultra too. You know girls and people obsessed with uniforms/helmets and the pageantry of bands love that stuff.
  17. North Texas scores two defensive touchdowns. Other than that, anyones guess.
  18. Jamal Marshall - 5 solo tackles 1 Asst - Be Great 8!
  19. No actual information on my part but near the end of the game it appeared Laramie may have injured his hand or took a bad stinger to the shoulder. He didn't leave the game but he was shaking his hand (right I believe) repeatedly as if trying to get rid of the pain or as though it were asleep.
  20. Funny. It looked odd to me on TV. As though the "bricks" were too large to be normal bricks. I guess when you only have $266MM to spend you have to cut some corners.
  21. Anyone notice during non-pads day workouts A. Lincoln completely blew by Lemmon (playing guard) on a "Get to the QB drill" All Cyril could do was grab a handful of jersey and try to slow him down. Anecdotal for sure but it either makes you feel great about 1 of our DT's or a bit concerned regarding 1 of our most championed OL's.
  22. Perhaps not a University but Im pretty sure Navarro is a college.
  23. I'm not sure about "opening up" the offense but you will see some greater tempo at times.
  24. Not familiar with that option. Thanks for pointing it out.
