Most of them had heard of him because they had a rival that he coached and they knew how successful he was. Doubt many of our students have heard of Skip Holz. And I have no idea who has the most charisma between Dykes and Holzt. That said I’d like to see somebody Seth’s age or younger.

Gabe Brooks/David Smoak Segment About UNT Job
Green Dozer replied to jtm0097's topic in Mean Green Football
FWIW, Mac said the same thing when he was here about relationships with the high school coache. Said many were not interested in North Texas and wouldn’t give him the time of day. -
Need younger. This place needs some energy that can develop the culture and fire up the fans, students, and players. Also, somebody who can gain the confidence of high school coaches in our area. Preferably, somebody they know.

Well I hope the first thing the new coach says that “Hit 6” is no longer acceptable around here! -

Oh yes he will. He will not be fired. There is not even any smoke on Bonnie Brae. I am not saying that he should or should not be. -
If Cliff Kingsbury Becomes Available do We Want Him?
Green Dozer replied to Mike Jackson's topic in Mean Green Football
Just weird that of all the coaches from the Leach tree, Harrell has not become a head coach yet. Never hear him mentioned even at the G5 level. -

Soul Searching Time for North Texas Football
Green Dozer replied to TheReal_jayD's topic in Mean Green Football
Seth had one foot out the door when he got here and didn’t really put his nose to the grindstone so to speak. That “I won’t be here long” attitude has caught up with him.- 31 replies

If Seth Littrell is back next season
Green Dozer replied to TheColonyEagle's topic in Mean Green Football
How are we light years ahead of where we were when Littrell replaced Mac? I seem to remember we did win a bowl game under Mac. Yes we had Mason Fine, but Littrell never put a strong cast around him. Littrell has not won one game when there was something on the line or a trophy was involved. -
G5 Coaches likely to move to P5 jobs
Green Dozer replied to El Paso Eagle's topic in Mean Green Football
I think Freeze is really happy where he is. If you look at his background, he fits perfectly. I wonder if Seth Littrell wishes he had concentrated on the business at hand his first couple of years here instead of having one foot out the door worrying or trying to move up. -

There was no organized or formal pool party. The pool was by the meeting rooms. Some guys took their shirts off and sat on some loungers for a few minutes during a break from team meetings. As for the wives, except for sharing a room, they were not with the coaches the whole time. Wives did dinner on their own Friday evening and had their own activities Saturday morning before leaving for the game. They didn’t even ride on the same buses as their husbands, and no, they didn’t have their own bus.

DRC: UNT's 2013 team to receive bowl rings
Green Dozer replied to Brett Vito's topic in Mean Green Football
I think giving team rings is a great idea. The players are more apt to wear the rings over the course of their lives than the watches. Also, more people will ask them about the ring which gives creates more opportunities for North Texas to have some positive exposure of it's athletics. -
Lamar sportswriter: UNT game "should" be cancelled
Green Dozer replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
When I asked why Lamar had not come up early, I was told their budget was just to small to put everybody up in a hotel for an extended time. It's fine to have a place to practice, but food and sleeping for 75 +_ people (players and staff) is costly, plus the cost of transportation to get around while they are here.
