DK is a strict disciplinarian, and not patient about team rules. So just HYPOTHTICALLy, what if Tmitch had been suspended for a game, not just a couple of minutes like against a Lehigh, would you have supported it?

I thought it was great for a football program that does not get much attention in the Metroplex to get a DMN front page story written by the Goose. I sent the article to a former player who played one year under DMac at UNT and he thought it was a pretty good article too.

Exactly. We seem to enjoy finding victories in the losing. For example, when Dickey left, the ath dept put forth that discipline and grades were a problem. So by year 2 of Dodgeball, in the midst of losing, we were told that the grades and discipline had greatly improved. Then, according to Mac & the athletic department, grades and discipline were awful under Dodge. So that took away from things and got in the way of winning right away, but in year 2 he talks as does the ath dept about how much grades and discipline, for the most part, have improved. We are like a volunteer fire department in that we celebrate putting out the campfires, but the forest is still burning.

There are some really fat ducks there to Lifer because of all the folks feeding them. Some as big as turkeys, LOL

In all due respect, a lot of folks have said something to the effect of "wait til McCarney gets his players" etc. And that has been the excuse the past two years, not only here on this board, but in other circles as well. Also, if so many seniors are going to contribute, what about the talent level of all the redshirts last year that Mac couldn't stop talking about? You know, it was just wait until these redshirts can play. So is 2014 the debutante ball for Mac's team?

Here is an idea. Maybe Dodge, since he is the athletic director, could hire Benford away from us and promote him for the award next year. Hey, I bet many of us would subscribe to the The Picayune and vote for him to.

We have had defensive line problems for a while. Since that problem was supposedly addressed, we have had 2 head coaches and 3 defensive coordinators. To hopefully rectify that problem, Dodge and or Deloach hired a new and supposedly seasoned defensive line coach who has served with the 2 head coaches (Dodge and Mac) and 3 defensive coordinators (Deloach, Bowen, and Skaldany) What might the common denominator be in the problem now? Hmmm.

Sorry to see this. Clark may have decided to leave, but there were lots of hints that that should have been his decision. I know there were some on this board that questioned whether he was a Div 1 player, and by the way I respect your opinion. That said, since Clark was on the team, I think we can agree he did not get a fair chance, and really a few players on this team as well. Hell, this season was over before the half way mark, so he should have been given more opportunities. In the practices I watched, he hit everything. It is not fair to give a player 2 minutes or 1st mistake your out because most players cannot get their timing, etc that quick, especially the majority of freshmen. Basically, Benford kept Clark. as insurance in case Taylor could not make it academically. It makes me mad that Benford wasnt honest with Clark when he was hired.

Regardless, the number of teams will become one of the excuses or part of some diatribe on the radio as to why we are not successful.

Talking with another fan about local recruiting today. We were both at Benford's press conference and remember him giving a shout out to some AAU coaches in attendance. Yes he did talk about recruiting the metroplex heavily. So far, with the exception of Wesley, not the case.

The Worm will probably be on the helmet for the first game. It might be the present helmet, a white, or the dark green. We won't see the lime green.
