BREAKING: Boise State furloughs coaching staff
MeanGreenTeeth replied to Jonnyeagle's topic in Mean Green Football
My guess is that universities are going to be hit pretty hard in general and are going to have to furlough or lay off staff across the board. I would expect athletics in most places to take a big hit as to limit the destruction to the academic programs. My impression (and maybe it's wrong) is that our athletic office has swollen in size pretty substantially over the current AD's tenure. I would expect that pretty serious downsizing would be in the works if things don't turn around soon. Even for schools with a large reserve, labor costs can eat through that surprisingly quickly. -
Who do you Predict the next UNT QB will be?

The way things are going with the 'rona. It will probably be some middle school kid we'll see in 5 years. -
Important message from Coach Seth Littrell

I think he can afford a better webcam. Did he record this on a Nokia flip phone? -
Looks like you should be on HBO's "Watchmen".

Freakin' refs cost us the game.

I think realistically, we'll probably start seeing states back off around that time frame. You can't put a massive chunk of the economy on hold 12-18 months. I think 2 months is a massive strain as-is. I expect we might see parts of the country come on and off restrictions for some time while outbreaks flare, but we're tempting a depression even with what we're doing (and the number of lives lost from that would almost certainly exceed the virus long-term). I know some folks are hoping to make Trump look stupid, but honestly, we'd better hope he's "right" on chloroquine. A vaccine is a least a year away, and there is a real possibility that a vaccine isn't even possible. I also saw an article the other day from a doctor mentioning that human's don't generally get long-lasting immunity from coronoviruses. We'd better pray that isn't true if this thing becomes endemic.

Well... women aren't known for being great at geography.

Agreed. I know he can be difficult, but he's a hell of a coach.

Yeah. I've watched most of the Texas games this year. That defense was hot garbage despite being far more athletic than most teams they played. They gave up 48 points to Kansas, y'all (for comparison Baylor gave up 6). We don't want any part of that.

I was really inspired by the "12 fluid oz" finale!!

It was a joke..sorry for the confusion. The music is really from Super Mario Bros. I was (and mistakenly thought you were) being facetious. No insult was intended.

It was from Burgertime, dummy. That's why he was call Jamario "Burger Droppin" Thomas. It was a play on Dave Thomas, the founder of Wendy's.

NIKE - YES OR NO
MeanGreenTeeth replied to El Paso Eagle's topic in The Eagles Nest (There Should be Pie For Everyone Forum)
Nah. I'm glad Nike has taught me that the US flag is a symbol of racism and oppression. Just like I was so happy that Gillette taught me that assaulting women was wrong. What would we do without our corporate betters? -
Tommy Mangino added as Offensive Quality Control

Maybe on the Moon. -
No need to brag.

Sorry guys. I don't condone sicking dogs on raccoons (nice way for your dog to lose an eye or get rabies, idiot), but at the end of the day, I just can't get worked up about this. I can't see how it would be prosecutable in any way, and while it certainly is pretty low-class, low-class has pretty much become the standard based on most college-aged kids twitter pages.

It doesn't update until the morning.

Wren Baker: Bowl Press Conference
MeanGreenTeeth replied to NorthTexan95's topic in Mean Green Football
I think that's exactly right. I'm not stating he is a bad AD or anything and I get that people like that he is approachable and authentic. If he can raise money and bring in championships who really cares. I was just stating that his public speaking leaves a little to be desired, not that it really matters that much. -

Sometimes I wonder if I live on an alternate planet as everyone else. Don't get me wrong, Wren seems to have everything going the right direction, but he's pretty bad at public speaking.- 49 replies
