  1. I thought we established that you had to play the sports that your conference sponsors. Are the any conferences that sponsor everything other than football and basketball? Surely not.
  2. Wouldn't be the worst thing to have an excuse to take a trip to Corvallis. I don't know that any of our fans would be excited by a trip to Pullman though.
  3. Meh. Maybe, but I saw something about a Tuesday vote on Twitter earlier and the source seemed...sketchy. I tend to think there is a lot of circular information floating it's way through these boards. Regardless, I was under the impression that conference additions had to be pretty much unanimous in practice even if technically not required. Would the ACC really move ahead if multiple schools opposed?
  4. Real estate agent. Everyone's fallback career once their dream has died.
  5. So much wheel spinning on here. If Cal and Stanford are focusing their efforts to get out of the PAC, then nobody, not even SMU, is going to waste time and money to get into a conference with freakin Oregon State and Washington State. Aresco also can't ethically negotiate a group of schools out of the conference and he certainty couldn't do so and become the new PAC commissioner. He would be buried in lawsuits.
  6. I don't think the 'stache really works for him.
  7. I understand Cal and Stanford wanting to be in the ACC for football, but it'd be a nightmare for all other sports. Maybe they'd join the ACC for football and the AAC for everything else (with OSU and WSU as full members). Stanford would be a huge get.
  8. It depends on who all bails. If Oregon, Washington, and Arizona go to the Big 12, I don't think there is enough appeal to what is left.. Eyeballs are scarce out west even with the best teams and these aren't the best teams. The media rights the rump PAC would get probably couldn't even justify the buyout for the MWC schools. If Oregon and Washington stay in the PAC it probably survives.
  9. Elon gets in on the action.. X Stadium 🙂
  10. It's pretty amazing the Wyoming is able to maintain a FBS school. The entire state is only a little more than half the population of Denton County.
  11. I will say that I have seen folks I know post about their kid being at this camp. I think this is the first time I've ever seen that on my social media.
  12. I'm not that close to it anymore, but I can tell you high school jazz programs all around the country are very familiar with UNT. I'd say it's still considered tops in Jazz, tops in affordability, and (along with Indiana) tops for public schools and non-East Coast/LA music schools. I don't know that you're going to find a lot of good school rankings out there. Many of them probably considered SAT scores and such for the entire college, which of course is going to give you some strange results.
  13. Diversity and Inclusion. Unless it's people who think differently than we do, because we don't want that sort of diversity around.
  14. So.. Cal got stuck with Spav. Poor bastards..
  15. I never realized how short our coaches are. Maybe 5'8 is the magic number.
  16. Dude..it's 2023. I got a complaint against me for using the word "lame". Apparently I was being 'ableist'. I remember when the word police used to be the religious right-wingers. Now it's the super lefties. He has to get his public shaming for saying a no-no word.
  17. Not sure how I feel about it, but it should help the G5 schools. It should reduce the number of plays which will help limit the ability of the power schools to lean on their depth late in the game.
  18. Because Wren negotiated the contract and 1) why would he care what happens after he leaves and 2) it disincentivized UNT from ever firing Wren (if they had wanted to) since it gimps the buyout clauses of the coaches... so yeah take from that what you will.
  19. Yeah, we ended up 31 on KenPom so that feels about right. That's top 9% of teams. That'd be like being #12 in the College Football Ranking.
  20. Y'all are ridiculous. If I was given $3M/year you better believe I'd sign and announce it as soon as humanly possible. You never know what might happen if you delay..stranger things have happened. If it fell through you think he could take solace in the fact that he didn't upset some fans who wished he waited 3 days instead of 1?
  21. Ha. "Texas Tech is classless". What else is new? Have you ever been to a Tech game in any sport? They are the jerkiest, douchiest group you'll ever see. I can only guess it's due to a massive inferiority complex for being A&M-lite for folks not smart enough to get into A&M.
  22. I think you're kinda proving the opposite, honestly. Not exactly displaying a thick skin here. And who posts on Facebook groups? Are you an 80 year old woman? 😁
  23. Meh... I don't think so...It's Oklahoma State. They know what's up. They're not the best at anything. They didn't get invited to the SEC and tying them to OU single-handedly killed the OU/UT to Pac-12 deal years ago. With T Boone gone they have nothing left but to wallow in their looming irrelevance.
