Sports, especially football, are a business for Universities. There are enough government rules that have to be met without a completely new set which, given the past proposals, would include a portion of the moneys to go to the government to help pay-down the deficit. The president, congress, and any other government agency need to deal with the problems they were elected/appointed for – not college/professional football.

Nice up-dated look. Navigation seems easier to me.

Haven't been on the board for about three years, and amazingly, it sounds as if DD never left. It was a given that TD was a high school coach, and that he had no college experience. However, DD had how many losing seasons and what facility named after him and TD has three years? If negativity is the best we have at UNT we need help.

Thanks, it will be a please to have a UNT wallpaper and saver that not only looks professional but is of the highest quality.

I think DD regime taught our players to expect to lose. It will take more than one season to instill the desire to win.

Nice and I will definitely use it. Thanks,

and again, poor it's all about poor DD -- the Univeristy was wrong, he knows nothing about anything about his assistant coaches and he has suffered a hachet job on his reputation. Well, I hope you are off campus by Monday -- which is 7 years to late. Bill Ison, PhD Alum 1992, 1998 UNT season ticket holder 1985 - 2005 -
Congratulations to all the team, especialy the seniors. You have represented the finest in north Texas in a situation that should never have occured. However, it did and you responded as the student-athletes that have always and will always be a part of UNT -- with respect, dignity, and grace. Our apologies for the situation we allowed to occur and wish the seniors the best in their future and the returning team -- GO UNT Eagles!! Bill Ison, PhD Alum 1992, 1998

New stadium or not -- back to real UNT football! What a thought.

If the stadium is not 40+ the University has made the next silly decision without any forsight. Bill Ison, PhD Alum 1992, 1998 -
If not it should be and so should the stadium. Thanks for supporting the best north Texas has to offer -- THE Univeristy of North Texas.

Well, we know the reason we will not win on Saturday. The line is Louisiana by 7. Therefore, the coaches don't really need to do anything this week except to have a light practice before the game so DD can leave the same way he arrived -- LOSING. Another year, another coach, can only pray the thing are moving upward since I really don't see how they could get much worse. Bill Ison Alumni 1992, MS; 1998 PhD

Another name rumored to be interested for coach

I would not be disappointed, I would be furious. I attended TCU games during his tenure (my wife is a TCU frog). His play calling is DD all over again. I will not attend UNT games if he is the coach. Bill Ison Alum 1992, MS; 1998 PhD -
If DD is honored as member of the Hall of Fame I will never send or spend one penny at UNT. This is the stupidest situation I have every seen. If the University allows him to go to the final game RV should resign. DD is the biggest cry baby and an embarresment to UNT!

and after last night DD proved that he not only was unable to coach at D1 level but has no respect for the institution that has supported a loser for 9 years. Bill Ison MS, 1992, PhD 1998 Season Ticket Holder 1989 - 2005 and looking forward to return to Fout's for real football.

DD did it again -- don't play to win play to keep a lead until you lose. Nine painful years thank god he's gone. Bill Ison 1992, 1998

Dickey.....NT Athletics Hall of Fame inductee

Wait a while -- record of about .4 win is not good. Don't let emotions control which means we have to wait IMHO at least 5 years before a decision is made. -
Between SMU and UNT for Master's -- UNT Business School was the seller. Then was invited to enroll in Doctoral. Well, BA in 73, MA in 92 and PhD in 98. The last two from UNT and I'm damn proud of it.

and for those of us who are UT alum - we do get a better product than UNT has provided for the past three years!! Bill Ison UNT Class of 92 and 98

As an alum, I have the right to support or not support UNT. That is my decision and it is not an obligation, it is a privilege to provide the support. However, how I support the university is my business. If football leaves UNT then so be it. It would probably be better than spending the money we are spending for the product we are getting. I support the team, the band, the students, but because I do not send money does not mean I do not support UNT!!! Bill Ison, Class of 92 & 98

I paid for my 4 season tickets this year...
bison replied to Green Grenade II's topic in Mean Green Football
I was a grad student when the vote to continue football was presented to the student body. The reason, IMHO, it passed was that those of us who wanted football voted -- the rest didn't. We thought everyone understoood that this is Texas and in Texas Football rules. However, we never understood that the university and university decision makers would ignore our belief in the ability of the University to make a national name for the school outside of the College of Music. How wrong we were and now we see that the Univeristy is driving the stake into the heart of football at UNT. Sad to say, I no longer even expect to see UNT return to 2A competion. I think the lights of Fouts are fading quickly and the SuperPit's death is not to far behind. What a shame. -
Coaches fault this week

This is what I started doing two years ago. I miss the football and everything that goes with it but after 6 years of DD and 5 years before that football was just not worth the money. When I notified the athletic department their comment was that they did not care --- they had enough sales that mine would not make that much difference. Bill Ison, PhD drison@sbcglobal.net
