As someone who played baseball most of his youth and high school years and is a follower of MLB (Go Red Sox!) just curious whats everyone take on this offseason? More specifically with the Mitchell Report being reviewed by the MLB and being made public more than likely tomorrow. Is anyone as anxious as I am to read this thing? I know what its going to say and I have a good idea on whose names will be included, but those names you don't expect are what I am interested in. If this investigation sets baseball back a few steps but cleans the game up, I am all for it. I just have a feeling its going to be like one of those dirty movies your friends claim is so awesome and you watch it and it is just disgusting (2 girls, 1 cup/finger). I want to read this document but I am just hoping that after I read it, it doesn't turn into something I wish I never saw. Bonds to the Athletics? Anyone heard this rumor? I hope he doesn't touch the field again. Sorry for the random baseball thread, boredom at the office and ESPN.com's coverage of the Mitchell Report got me thinking about all this.

This dude wont see the field in NFL again. Tank Johnson got 7 games for a 45 day jail sentence, Pacman got a year and hasn't been convicted of anything (plea bargain yes), Vick wont be out till May 2009 at the earliest and Goodell will hit his ass with a heeeeefty suspension. I am guessing two more years out of the league after that. Putting him active at the beginning or mid way through the 2011-2012 season. Thats 4 to 5 years away from the game. I used to really like this guy but he has CONTINUALLY proved to me that he is just NOT smart.

I know when it comes to the stuff yall are doing now... all the guys are loving it... all the things you mentioned in your post were very similar to what we used to do and they were greatly accepted by the UNT players and were hated by the opposition.

I dont know if this was directed at the idea I posted or not but all i am trying to do is give some idea that have been done before.... but hey its your group...

Granted this story did happen... I also know it happened to Justin Barnett when he was here at UNT. I live with the guy and he still remembers it as one of the best student pranks pulled against him.

yelling about a DUI arrest had nothing to do with the Okie State game but it was great...

UNC-Wilmington pulled a great one on Justin Barnett one night... Since Facebook is the ruler of the college society, the student section set up a fake account with a picture of an attractive girl on it. They send messages to players from teams coming into play at their stadium and basically say things about hanging out with them after the game and things. Seeing as how most 19-24 year old guys will jump at the shot to kick it with random hot girl they never plan on seeing again, this is pretty effective. Well they get the players phone number, info all kinds of stuff. With Barnett, When he stepped on the floor the male dominant student section started yelling Barnett over and over. JB finally aknowledged them only to have all 20-25 of them hold u signs with his phone number on it and a sign that said "We are Amber Bryant" (the fake name they used) That is by far one of the most creative attacks I have seen. They got the numbers of ALOT of the guys on our team that night and would yell them out. They would chant Amber Bryant during free throws. They were really creative. They were also leaving messages on the cell phones. Just thought I would throw that out there since the Pit Crew is kickin ass form what I hear. You can never do too much!

Nick Shaw of the Lumberjacks seemed to have an off night but he was recruited out of Bowie by the Mean Green. He is a one of those energy players from my observations... would have love to see him in Green. HE is a good friend of the family also so there is some bias there...

Just something I noticed in the first post that has nothing to do with the real thread... The Jumbotron tower at Fouts does look good but the actual video board is HORRRRRRIBLE. The high school stadium that I tech direct at has a screen that is alot better than ours.

By the way... I will be having a National Championship Game watching party at my new apt. I got this SICK Plasma TV I Stole from UNT, some good surround sound and HDTV! Also Lots of pizza? Jaydub, what do you like on your pizza?

My biggest beef on the first half is that I saw MORE than twice Quincy walking up the court and not being in position on a fast break. We had a 3 on 1 and about half court he booked it in and pulled up his sprint assuming that the basket was a 'gimme' and it came off front rim and would have been there for an EASY tip dunk or put back. Early in a game thats inexcuseable. I like Q and everything but the guy has a Randy Moss tendency sometimes... he simply takes plays off. Other than that, I love this teams athleticism and the fact that TWICE now down by more than 20 they just don't give up.

He hasnt hit his growth spurt yet... He graduates UNT at a beast-like 6 foot 7, enters the Draft and the Mavs tank that season to get a good lottery pick to get him. I don't know this for a fact I'm Just Saying....
