  1. Great idea - may have to end up on the student side by the end of the night as well, over in the section just behind the band where I sat with my buds from Kendall Hall and watched my first ever North Texas game in 1983. @GreenMachine - I am proud to say that I have never taken a dump in that dump.
  2. For some reason, I have this strange urge to pee on a wall...
  3. The 83 yard touchdown run was AFTER the injury. Seems that Dunbar was in pretty good shape at that point. I have to agree wit the title of this thread. While I have really liked what Canales has done with this team, he was already a long shot and needed every win possible to help him. Whether or not it really should matter, today's loss hurt his chances.
  4. Feeling sorry now For Japanese inventors Haiku so butchered
  5. WACky Conference Leave North Texas Alone Now! We do not want you
  6. 92-83 Final - Go Mean Green!
  7. I felt much more rivalry with Ark St. or NE La (ULM) during the Southland days than I ever felt with SWTSU. If one were added, I'd much rather see UTSA at this point because of the San Antonio market (even if they don't even have a team yet).
  8. The great thing about the new stadium is that there will be LOTS of good seats (all better than Fouts) that those of use who can't do the Club level will still be able to afford. I haven't heard prices on the "regular" seats yet, but I imagine they will be in the range the average fan can afford.
  9. Don't really know. I don't remember watching Dean Martin much (except for a few of his movies).
  10. You're probably thinking of Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In. I know exactly the "ugly old woman" character you mean.
  11. Yep - she's married to my brother-in-law's brother.
  12. According to the UNT Factbook, the enrollment last year was 36,123, including the Dallas campus. So, we took those numbers out and our increase in Denton enrollment matched the numbers we took out by separating UNT-Dallas.
  13. Don't forget the whole Mayan calendar thing either. Since the world will end on Dec. 21, 2012, there just doesn't seem to be much point in worrying about all this.
  14. Don't really have much respect for an article where the poll choices are basically "Do the smart thing (what the author wants)" or "Make the stupid choice (what the author doesn't want)".
  15. Don't remember off the top of my head the age policy, but I'm pretty sure a 3 year old needs their own ticket. In the past, you've been able to sign up for the Jr. Mean Green Club on game day at the "Fun Zone", which is on the north end of the old practice fields in the tailgating area.
  16. Official numbers don't come until after 12th Class Day and aren't usually released by the state until sometime later (October?), but you should start to see "unofficial" versions that will be close sometime soon after the official census date.
  17. I'm sorry - but did you read this thread and, especially the link to the BYU announcement?
  18. Not really too hard - just "air" and "ee"
  19. It should be the "Aerie" - the nest of a bird of prey, as an eagle or a hawk. (per Dictionary.com) It would also play on UNT History since this name was also used by the yearbook for many years.
  20. The on-campus sorority housing wasn't on the list I looked at, so that would add to the numbers as well. Same for the fraternity houses. I don't really know how those count in when those sorts of "on-campus" numbers are calculated for reporting. That could be another reason why our calculations and the published calculations vary. And, as has already been pointed out, if you counted "on-campus" by just drawing a circle around the campus area, it would be a much larger percentage of our students with all the large apartment complexes nearby.
  21. I did a check of the Housing website and the actual number of on-campus spaces in the residences halls is closer to 6,000, not 7,000, which explains a little bit of the variance in the numbers you mentioned.
  22. Thanks for all you do, Harry!
  23. 1. No 2. Yes
  24. No - we are the 4th largest university in Texas, but we have the 3rd largest undergraduate enrollment.
  25. Of course, it wasn't the "Texas State" system until 26 years after we left it.
