What was the PayPal link again? I still need to send you my money. Thanks.

There are several small groups that tailgate regularly in the Green lot. Not as many as Orange, but still a number. I usually cook out with family and some friends in the Green lot before the game, after the kids get tired from the Funzone!

DMN blurb Hank Dickenson takes name out of AD

Was this sarcasm? Or were you referring to President Pohl's resignation (which takes effect at the end of the summer, although he announced it last year)? -
State Club disappeared a few years ago, to be replaced by a chain: Jimmy Johns. I still miss the chicken tenders

FW*Telegram NT planning to build on progress
3XNTGRAD replied to OldTimer's topic in Mean Green Football
Curry Hall (previously Historical Building) was the first Library Building on campus. I'm not sure where the confusion of this with the President's Home came from. As far as I know, only two locations on campus have served as the President's Home. One was on the site that was originally the location of the Normal Building, and current site of Hickory Hall (previously the Industrial Arts or Engineering Technology Building). The other President's home was the building known later as the Advancement Center, which is now the site of the Gateway Center. Buildings older than Fouts include the Auditorium Building, Curry Hall, Terrell Hall, Marquis Hall, Chilton Hall, Bruce Hall, Information Sciences Building, Men's Gym (now the Ken Bahnsen Gym?), Women's Gym (Scoular Hall), and Masters Hall. Although, most of these buildings have received extensive renovations at some more recent time that cannot be compared to the "cosmetic" changes that Fouts has received. -
What was the first UNT game that you attended?
3XNTGRAD replied to calvin's topic in Mean Green Football
1983 - NT vs West Texas State Since I am from the Panhandle, it was nice to see my university beat the school that many of my HS classmates were attending (the other big school for students from my area is Tech, so our several Tech victories in years to come were especially sweet for me). -
NT Daily Article on Branding implementation

Just an interesting aside ... Like many packrats, I occasionally find something in the depths of drawers from years past. Not too long ago, a seldom used shirt circa 1985 was found and appropriated by my wife (mainly for use during cleaning up around the house ). What caught our eyes was the fact that this 20 year old North Texas shirt was exactly the same shade as many of the current shirts being used. What goes around comes around! -
No way. 60-05% was probaby pretty accurate. UH fans were pretty much concentrated in a few sections which were full, plus scattered around. NT fans were spread throughout numerous sections, so didn't look like as many when in fact there was a significant number. I have to say I was proud of our fans supporting the team in crucial moments, like when we first came back to tie in the second half. We may be pretty quiet most of the time, but at moments like that the fans were really into the game. Those are positives we can build on as well.

I think you are absolutely correct on this. You may have smaller donations that are offered up "freely" for use whereever the need is greatest, but the kind of money we are discussing here doesn't just fall into the university's lap. Someone willing to write that kind of check will already have some clear ideas of what they want that money to do (Heck -- I'm pretty opinionated about my annual checks to UNT myself, and they are not that big!). I just don't think there is that much influence to divert the kind of donations we are talking about that would be needed for a new stadium. {And, for the record, I'm in favor of both the new campus and the stadium. I think they are both worthy endeavors and important to the future of our campus and system.}

He had so many great runs that it would be hard to pick. However, my favorite Patrick Cobbs play was his touchdown pass to Randy Gardner at ULM in 2003. That was just too cool. We'll miss you Patrick!

what's the deal with those green stadium seats?
3XNTGRAD replied to EagleChick03's topic in Mean Green Football
It doesn't mean they are all alone -- just that they have the softest seat -
Congrats Arkansas State on the bowl berth. Enjoy it and make the conference proud! [And big thanks to ULL. If my Mean Green couldn't go to the bowl, I'm at least happy that UL-M isn't going either! Anyone who was around during Southland days knows why I feel that way.]

*Bump* PM me if anyone has a spare Green parking tag they would be willing to loan me for the Ark St. game so my visiting relatives can park there with me for tailgating. Thanks!

Wow! I won something (must have been because I was standing by Harry when I bought my ticket ). So, how/when do we get our prize? (I was ticket 113) Thanks!
-
I could use an extra Green parking pass this Sat. if anyone is not using theirs. I'm bringing my sister's family to the game and would like to be able to park and tailgate all together. I'm in Denton, so let me know.

Attendance averages thru October 8th games

I've already snatched up 5 tickets from season ticket holders who will be out of town that weekend to cover family members who will be coming into town for the holiday. Hopefully others are doing the same kind of advance planning. -

Harry: This is really cool. Congrats to your aunt and the whole family. Lee -
He's talking about the 2001 game. I don't remember the details about the play mentioned, though. (I do remember the punt without a punter on the field!)

I'm in row 20, section F. That is the top row of the lower section.

There is an article in the NT Daily about New Orleans area students enrolling at North Texas this semester. Just got off the phone a little while ago helping a student from Xavier U enroll here.

I saw a report not that long ago that Brazil is converting almost completely to biofuels. I believe that they already do not import almost any oil, and produce the biofuels domestically. It can be done, but I don't know what the relative cost is.

More "bang for the buck" so to speak -- since they can buy more supplies closer to the disaster site, rather than having to spend money shipping supplies long distances.

Up to date ariel photos of New Orlenas

Just saw some aerials of the Hyatt Superdome on CNN. Almost all the windows on one side (actually in the area where I stayed for the 2003 New Orleans Bowl) were gone. -
My old high school, Pampa HS, beat Perryton 28-19. Best part is that my nephew, Taylor Fatheree, had a great night, including one interception. I keep trying to get him to look at North Texas, but so far he's said that "North Texas is too good" and doesn't think he'd have a chance.

As I mentioned in my post, the information I based my comments on came from "The Story of North Texas". In it, I clearly remember a section about how the Music Building included student rooms on the second floor of one wing. This had something to do with the way the money for the building could be raised at the time. I'd have to look in the book again (it's in my office) to give more details. By the way, I had forgotten about Oak Street Hall (easy building to forget about since it is so far off the main campus!) Another bit of trivia - Oak Street Hall is located where it is because the college needed to expand, and Dr. Bruce happened to own that plot of land.
