If there's one difference, it's that we don't run the option as much. I attributed initially to it being removed due to Hall's injury, but it may actually be a Flanigan thing. We used to run the option a lot more.

IMHO he's a jackass, but that doesn't mean he's wrong. Here, for example, he's correct. On another topic: EVERYONE has a hot sports opinion. It's the lamest, most over-used, and self-aggrandizing crap to annoint to one's opinions. Gone are the days when people with actually talent and analytical abilities were involved in sports writing. Instead, they've been replaced by obnoxious loudmouths who've confused the volume of their opinions with the merit therein. Then again, that's just my HSO. I'm gonna go listen to some sportsTALK radio, where blowhard #1 will take a position that pretty much everyone agrees with so that blowhard #2 can disagree and they chatter at each other like a couple of old women until I get tired of it and decide to listen to the sound of my brain dying instead.

If someone comes up to me at my job and says "hey, your staff has been making costly errors all year long," I tell them that I'm concerned and that I will do something about it. The only reassurance one has is with seeing a change in the behavior of my staff. Tell it to Dickey, and his refrain is "I'm not concerned about it." (SEE: Lack of offense, discipline, etc.) And as there is no change in the behaviors, then there is no reassurance for the people paying their hard-earned money for the product (North Texas Football), and there is CERTAINLY no faith that he's taking care of it internally. Sometimes, without naming names, you have to call people out, if only to let those around you know you're actually gonna do something about it.

You play for a single snap and you can't get a redshirt unless you're a BCS player who gets severely injured or, of course, drunk a lot.

I wouldn't suggest a rotation with the idea that it would bring us immediate success. I believe that at this point we need to find out which of our QBs is most capable, for next year and beyond. We can't really get much worse offensively. And I agree with whoever said if we were at another school, Meager would've been benched already.

None of those answers really fit, but here's where I would put him in. If we don't do anything offensively for our first three series or so, put Phillips in on the next one. Give him a few series and see what happens. I HATE this, but believe it's what needs to be done, at this point.

Meager was awful out there. Awful. Four games and he's still a deer in the head lights.
