  1. I really don't view graduate transfers the same way as undergrads. It's actually part of the problem of people viewing guys who've already transferred as some magical solution. If they have enough credits, nothing is going to stop them from transferring again. And, as before, plenty of kids transferred back in the day of sitting out a year, so if you're truly in a situation you don't want to be in, I can absolutely see someone transferring a second time. You have to recruit your own roster and fill your own roster every year. That's just how it is. College coaches have to get it done or pursue a new line of work.
  2. A good QB for $1-2m > Matt Rhule for $5-7m.
  3. Overall - C - I actually expected 5-7, and that's what I got.... though not how I'd seen it happening Offense - A - I was pleasantly surprised in our offense. As some have mentioned, the Offensive Line though seems to struggle with pass-blocking technique and sustain. We gave up WAY too many sacks this season, including what?8 vs Navy. Defense - F - I don't have a problem with the scheme, but we failed to recruit to it and coach it up. Upside is we have had some young players coming on to get experience late this season.
  4. Yeah, a TD a game is actually a pretty big difference. But I'm not crying about the defense right now. Season is over. We'll see what we get as far as players and coaching in 2024.
  5. They play a 3-3-5. Previous DC was Bryan Nardo, who's now the DC at Oklahoma State. Current DC runs the same scheme. So this is a 3-3-5 DE with experience.
  6. Who cares?
  7. I'm guessing most will be graduates or graduate transfers. Almost all of them started school in 2019-2020 (just not necessarily here).
  8. Not because of their defense.
  9. I was one of the few people high on Odom during the mid-to-late season coaching carousel debates. I do suffer from the general belief that defense is harder to find than offense is right now.
  10. Yes. I think a lot of it actually comes down to experience and football smarts. The ONE thing I've been harping on is that 2-gap nose. At least for early downs. It also might allow us to push some of our other guys to the outside and give them a better chance at collapsing the tackles.
  11. I'm not as negative about the Portal as most, but I agree. Given the fluidity of player movement in college football, you just always need to be putting your best guys out there to get you the win. If that's a True Freshman, so be it. No need for sandbagging. It's not like we're playing for draft position.
  12. Official Review: "Too much space between the receiver and defensive back. 15-yd penalty and loss of down."
  13. I don't even get excited for the TD until they review it. Refs will be like "I don't like how his cleats are tied. Incomplete!"
  14. I would honestly run that draw on every 3rd down if they are gonna keep running outside blitzes. Oh damn, am I DD?
  15. UGH... shoulda been 6. A little underthrown, but still...
  16. Just hoping that our guys start attacking with some confidence on defense.
  17. Good thing Tulsa also stinks. Great plays by Richards and Texada.
  18. Throw... run... it all works against this D.
  19. When in doubt, just run the ball on us.
