  1. Yeah, imagine if we became known as a place for coaches to come and get hired away instead of a place where coaches come to die.
  2. It's not the FCS team driving our attendance woes. It's our own sorry program. You can't build a fanbase losing more games than you win, especially when you get your ass handed to you in the losses. Do that over 30 years, and here's where you are.
  3. we can run the ball against bad teams. we can't throw the ball well against anyone. nothing new.
  4. That puts him in the rarified air of like 100 FBS QBs last year.
  5. I mean if Aune can make those throws for 3 seasons, I can give a guy a half against Texas Southern up by 4 TDs. I don't want to see a bunch of switching around, because we KNOW how that goes with this team. Problem is Seth won't risk anything by playing an unknown. He's got to get his 5-6 wins so he won't get fired. We're gonna see Aune the rest of the way.
  6. I don't understand how their QB can complete these throws. Has he been in college 8 years or something?
  7. * head coaches excepted
  8. Man, TSU MARCHING on us. How bad is UTEP?
  9. He's actually closer in age to Johnny Football.
  10. Our defense can't stop the run of.... Texas Southern.
  11. Yeah, but I've also seen what happens when the ball leaves our QBs' hands.
  12. Let's just run the Wildcat for the rest of the season.
  13. "Apple-G Stadium." I was gonna make a joke comparing this coverage to the coverage we got on Channel 21 or 27 back in the 90s...
  14. An introvert, or just having a different demeanor than what you described? Ryan Day is a pretty chill coach. Even when he’s pissed or being fun/happy, it’s pretty subdued. Justin Fuente is usually described as business-like in demeanor. In the pros, Leslie Frazier is a calm guy. Didn’t do well as a HC in the pros in his first stint, but he’s a great DC/DB coach. It would be near impossible to know if any particular coach were an introvert, since a workplace is different than personal social situations, and we don’t see 130-ish coaches outside of work. Plenty of coaches aren’t “in your face”, and plenty more are simply different varieties of it (players’ coaches shaving mohawks and dancing or authoritarians screaming and throwing crap). My point is Seth’s demeanor isn’t WHY he’s a mediocre coach. It’s just another mark against him given his record. At least if he was fun off the field or in interviews, he’d be providing entertainment SOMEWHERE. I’d rather have a fun or interesting head coach, but being loud doesn’t make you a winner.
  15. Adapt or die. I don't believe that there's a particular kind of demeanor that's better or worse. If you're a good coach, you're a good coach. SL just isn't a very good coach. Mediocre at best. You are what your record says you are. I couldn't give a rat's ass if he's a robot or a madman. Compete for conference championships, win bowl games, and beat more teams than just the bottom half of CUSA.
  16. Now, maybe you mean our "current" system, if we have one, but Aune has been here since 2018. So 5th year.
  17. For me to keep going to games and/or watch on tv this season, it would take a time machine. But then I'd probably just use it to go back in time and tell my younger self that it doesn't really get better and not waste decades on UNT football.
  18. All of this. You can't tell me that the number of QBs we've had since Mason left are all lacking the talent to complete regular passes at the FBS level.
  19. Boom! 10-yr extension. I mean, we'll pretty much have to, in order to keep all of his big recruits from bolting and chase away all the P5 schools at bay so they don't steal him away.
  20. I'm a big fan of Graham Harrell, but I don't want him as a HC right now. We need someone who can either win in an unorthodox way and/or actually get recruits other people want.
