I think you are referring to the old Fred McCain room which as I understand it is no longer used like so many of the nooks and crannies of Fouts. The EXES are in the alumni center bottom floor right side of the arch at the Gateway Center corner of North Texas Blvd. & Eagle Dr.

DMN Long after death penalty SMU still lifeless
DallasGreen replied to OldTimer's topic in Mean Green Football
Don't bet against it--- that 2006 game with SMU at home looks more scary with every game we play in 2005. -
We are recruiting at the 1-AA level and trying to play 1-A OOC games. The SBC is only a 1-AA league masked as D-1A. To say we compete with the SBC recruits only says we rank in the top 25 in 1-AA. Yes we have 20 more scholarships than 1-AA, but are we getting 20 more D-1A caliber players? You can say recruiting lists mean nothing, but when we have for years never had more than 1 or 2 recruits in the area let alone state 100 it tells something. I think back to all the hype about recruiting classes and then see us in the pathetic situation we now find ourselves and now clearly see all the hype was just fan fodder. As was once said on this board when we play true D-1A programs it's our all district players against their all state players. We run up against young players that kill us such as the KSU back from Richardson Pierce who were in our own back yard yet they choose to go far from home rather than come here. We have sung the lack of facilities song to the press for sooooo long that recruits believe it and no longer come to visit even though we now have the facilities.

All you DD lovers - I have a question?
DallasGreen replied to GoMeanGreen1999's topic in Mean Green Football
I really wish I believed that they took these last two whippings that seriously, but I doubt it. -
SLC beat him to getting a grip. SFA, NW St., SHSU, TSU @ SM would ALL LOVE TO HAVE US ON THEIR SCHEDULE. BET SMU FEELS THEIR 2006 game in Denton is one of the sweetest deals they ever made!!! As bad as it looks the worst is yet to come-- SBC streak ends 10/04. Hey, Hey whadya say follow this program all the way. Try as we want try as we may we're all the way back to 1-AA!!!!
-
We did have a 1-AA the first game, SBC mate, MTSU. I would sure take them over Texas State @ San Marcos

Florida International/ Florida Atlantic?

Wife and I have reservations for FAU on 11/12 -
What many fail to realize is we've had an extraordinary streak of luck in this SBC string. It all ends 10/04 before less than 10K on national t v. You can take that to the bank.
-
Great reference Rick but the difference is Gary Patterson has instilled a refuse to lose attitude in his team while ours rolls over and takes it to the house when things get tough.
-
It will be worked on --- in the meantime what are you doing toward making things better rather than just blindly defending the status quo?
-
Since you are counterpointing tell me how this team hasn't totally checked it in these last 2 games. or did lack of a stadium cause that? Make all the excuses you want there are some of us who have seen much better with far less resources. Read the DMN tommorrow if you think we are not a laughing stock-- we made them look like fools for promoting this back to back stuff and longest winning streak against garbage competition. Give me a WIN over SMU and you can have 10 SBC titles in return. The first two games of 2006 will bring the biggest disgrace on record since Dennis Parker apologized for being non-competitive against Nebraska!!

Is it really -- check out our Seagrin rating (which will be MUCH worse this week) and see that we are not even a top 25 1-AA team. This is not progress from past teams that were competitive against D-1 competition even though we had lousy facilities and 20 less scholarships. Winning the SBC is not that much above winning the SLC, and we drew just as many people. Even with good players we were still drubbed by mediocre D-1 programs in the DD era. Being the best of the worst has made us a laughing stock in the metroplex. It completely discredits the seasons of JMo & P C. The most digusting thing is the lack of pride in our players. We no longer have the Scott Hall's and Cody Spencer's who would still step on you and spit in your eye even though down by 3 TDs. Phillip Graves is the one exception I see on this team. The rest are content to take their whipping and tuck their tails!! That reflects lack of motivation from the coaching staff. I guarantee you Corky Nelson, Hayden Fry, Chuck Mills, and others would roll some heads on this bunch and that's exactly what's needed.

You forgot to add one other remark that George made that he found the "technical difficulty" unbelievable!! Also heard that George walked out on an interview with DD last week when DD became testy and challenging over just a run of the mill interview comment by George and Hank had to finish the interview. You could hear the disgust and hopelessness in their voices today. Put it in SIX INCH HEADLINES this team will NOT win the SBC and "the streak " ends in embarrassing fashion on national t v before mostly empty stands on 10/04. This program has become an embarrassement to all associated with UNT and it is quickly giving faculty the ammo they need to kill or deemphasize the program. Blind loyalty over being the "best of the worst" proves absolutely nothing to anyone. This team quit again for the second week in a row.

Score Predictions Against Kansas State

KSU 120- UNT 2-- Great offensive performance (ha) which gets the defense winded by midway through the first quarter -
Margie kept me up all night, laughing....
DallasGreen replied to Green Grenade II's topic in Mean Green Football
No it was just our own way of saying let's check it in and go to the house, it would have been difficult for TU not to score against an NT team that was quitting in droves at the time. Only UT matches this embarrassment, and to think LSU, K St. , and La Tech are yet to come with UT leading off 2006 when we will have had to replace a Pres. and an A.D. who had given us again the opportunity to achieve the next level. SMU is salivating at the thought of putting the lid on us once and for all the second game of 2006, and the reaction of players and coaches will be " it's only another OOC butt whipping -- so what?" -
If you put out a program that is capable of being that humiliated, it should be exposed. Kudos to Coach Kraigthorpe for keeping an inspired team when ours had quit cold. I only wish he had made the choice to be on our sidelines rather than TU's.

Let's Get It Out of Our System/Then Let's Regroup!

Find a president who is pro athletics with L J as chancellor __ welcome to Fantasy Land. By the way I've been at that "foxhole" in N. O. for four years taking the blast while others stayed close to home for a myriad of their own reasons. D'ont ever challenge my loyalty because I've been around since most on this board were in diapers but when I see yet another opportunity to gain some credability be trounced like last night, it makes me mad as hell. If we don't want to cook get out of the kitchen!!! Elsewise we continue to be the "best of the worst" which to me now achieves exactly what our offense put up ---a big ZERO. By the way if you want to buid it--write the first check or find someone who can otherwise put a lid on that fantasy and deal in reality. -

Can't agree more GG. Little Mary Sunshine won't cut it with this kind of loss. Oh Yes we did beat a Cincy team once upon a time when they did not want to even be there in the first place and that only because Kevin Galbreath played his heart out to keep the ball out of Cincy's hands in the closing minutes so don't toot the NT horn too long after that fluke. Yes we've been to 4 "bowls" in a row and all but once had our heads handed to us once outside SBC competition. If you are content to be at this level --fine, you should stand in good stead with the coming regime' ' cause that's exactly where they want us to be!! But don't give us any more of this " just build it crap" because a big enough fool will never, ever be found to want his name put on a stadium that's home to a program content to be the best of the worst in D-1 football!! By the way on your 24K and new fans, I hope you took a picture because you have seen the last of them for this year!!!! -
Don't want to hear any more talk about conference realignment. We showed without a doubt tonight that we are perfectly content to be the best of the worst (SBC). That is exactly what the man coaching across the field ( Steve Kragthorpe) saw when he was offerred this job and turned it down. It is obvious he made the right decision. I hope as many as possible will be present at President"s Council at the Four Seasons in Irving on November 12th to honor the accomplishments of Norval Pohl. We will not likely ever see his equal on this now faculty controlled campus with an L J "yes" man being the next president. By the way take some time to thank RV for the job he has done while here and wish him the best of luck in his next new position as he too will be gone when the L J "yes" man is announced.
-
You can bet that SMU is salivating at the thought of playing this team in Denton next year!! This Ho-Hum OOC attitude will give them just the momentem that they need to push us right back to the SLC where most of the faculty and Denton old nestors wanted us to be in the first place!
-
I hope someone got a picture of the crowd because that too may never happen again.
-
Don't worry the line will move much faster at the next game because there won't be a line. I hope everyone took a picture of the crowd last night because it will be years if ever before you see another. !5-20K empty seats on national t.v. will continue the humiliation that athletics now bring with a faculty controlled campus, and just get ready folks we are going to see a new President that is just a puppet with L J pulling his strings.
-
It's the Denton merchants that have loved them the most. Those with young children or older folks have a hard time with the bitter cold a Norther can bring in November. This is not Southern California and Denton is typically 3 to 5 degrees colder than Dallas anyway.
-
Also understand that if Dr. Pohl leaves before the new Pres. is identified that Jackson will appoint himself the Interim President. Interesting since he seems to view his role as Chancellor in the same light as his past County Judgeship. UNT-Denton is his court, and he will maintain order and control come hell or high water.
