Good point on the DD situation. Numerous winning coaches at NT would have done back flips to have had the facilities, players, salary, and benefits that he feels obligated to bemoan every time he opens his mouth. Saturday is showtime--DD is not outclassed and there should be no whinning--either get out there and WIN the biggest game on the schedule or look for the door ' cause if you don't the fans will have already found it for this year. This is not the only game of the 2006 season--JUST THE BIGGEST FOR THIS OR ANY OTHER YEAR TO COME TO FOUTS!!! WIN IT---KICK THE PONIES REARS!!!!

I am ready and fired up even after the not so great effort I witnessed in Austin. I am hoping for the best Sat and will be at Fri. night Clark Park Pep Rally and early Sat. tailgate, Spirit shirts in hand for sale @ $7.each at each venue.. As I have feared since this game was scheduled, alums and fans appear to be more fired up than players , coaches , and students. I never, ever wanted to win a game more than this one, and that includes this year's Rose Bowl that I attended with my two UT grad sons. I like some others on this board consider this a lost season without a victory over the horses' rears from the hilltop!!! I listened to them vs. TT on the road back from Austin. I truly don't believe that there is a great talent gap, and that the home field can be the difference. We just can't be subdued or bashful and MUST RAISE HELL THE ENTIRE GAME!!!! You can bet I will do my part--I may need some help from FFR and Emmitt with those clowns in the yellow shirts before this one is finished!!!

I would take that attendance right now for our game with FIU and it's homecoming. Ditto for Stebo's comments ---fantastic draw all considered!!

I should have one extra ticket in the North Texas section and also have access to two tickets high in the upper deck of the press box side but on about the 40 yard line, but in the UT section. I'll be there just as I have for every game of the series, but I truly hope our perception of ourselves after the debacle does not carry over to the next week's real contest with those hated, arrogant horse's rears from the Hilltop. That's when the performance really counts. No matter what happens in Austin --BE THERE SEPT. 9th. Come early, be loud, be proud. GO MEAN GREEN!!!

1) This is the last year of the UT series and it WILL NOT be renewed 2) Our gaurantee is $285K while UT rakes in $4 million 3) We refuse to play home games out of Fouts Field, which means you get none of the top 25 for home games. Playing overmatched on the road gets more injuries and no good press 4) Fighting hard could have some effect but depth will finally come through. I just don't want to see a "run up the white flag effort" after any UT success, i.e., Benson's run the last time ended the game almost before it started.

I agree that losing to the defending national champion is no disgrace. Losing to an SMU team that figures to be thrashed by TT in the home opener would be disgraceful to say the least!!! Take that you horse huggers!!

DD is lamenting our strength of schedule while any other D-1 coach would be doing handsprings. If players believed they could win, 11-1 would be a possibility, but with staff's attitude 4-8 is reality. If you want to feel sorry for someone just look at the rest of the SBC's OOC schedule.

NT took over 10K fans to UT in the game vs. Earl Campbell, but that was back when we had coaches that actually made players believe it was possible to WIN OOC games!!! DD (0-92) just wants to get the Sat. morning check and get outa Austin ASAP!!! Winning an OOC is only a delussion enjoyed by GMG posters. Ditto for SMU, Tulsa, Akron, and La Tech!!

Didn't you know that all OU players are on the payroll?? How can Benson be overrated after that first almost humorous if not just plain sad run 2 years ago where he shreaded NT tackles like water off a duck's back. If he is overrated what does that say about our defense??

HOW ABOUT 0-92 UNDER DD IN TWO GAMES?????

As I've said before this isn't about profit, it's about getting the word out that Sept. 9th is a BIG game. I see where DD's long time buddy from KSU days, SMU coach Phil Bennett, says his " much easier" Sept. schedule should propel SMU into its first post death penalty bowl game. I wonder how TT feels about that since horses' rears kick off the season in Lubbock. With DD being buds with PB, this smacks of DD treating it as just another ho-hum OOC game much as he did KSU last year when the visit to Manhattan, KS was just a good ole homecoming with little emphasis on the game. My message is go to Austin, party down, hope our kicking game can limit the carnage, but put on your game face for 9/9 as it will take enthusiastic students and fans to motivate the dept., coaches, and players that North Texas people EXPECT to beat SMU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great idea!! Since they have to pay to park, they must have game tickets--make them use them. Also never again have a student vote on an athyletic fee-- same policy pay it or leave. Only when we take these stands will we be viewed as a true D-1 university. Let the sponges be on their way!!!

I could not agree more. The ONLY time that this should not be a lead topic is after September 10th. We need this drilled into the thoughts of coaches, athletic administrators, students, faculty, and fans. The message is simple --LOSING TO S.M.U. IS NOT AN OPTION!! VY's jumping to the NFL after saying he would stay cost UT several more mature QB's than the two they'll field. I'm just glad we have a decent punter and apparently a great kicker as that's all that's between us and the 0-92 we've posted in two DD trips to Austin. Many will be glad to know that this will be the last in the UT series for many years as when DeLoss Dodds asked for a three year deal with NT, RV said two for one, with the one being at Fouts!! Since UT will never again play U of H for getting shafted on seats at Robason a few years ago, I'm sure playing at Fouts got a really BIG LAUGH out of the UT A.D. If we continue to refuse to play BIG games at Texas Stadium, we can forget about EVER getting any. If you were defending National Champs or even any top 50 team would you come to FOUTS??
