Great ideas----only time this was ever tried was when Coach Fry was here. I don't think there are any stats kept on this but I would bet that there are more fans on the alumni side from outside the city of Denton than from Denton itself . I personally know people that come in from San Antonio, Waco, Weatherford, Corinth, Lewisville, Lake Dallas, Celina,Krum,and many others yet Development continues to court and praise little "d" which gives back absolutely zero in return!

Two touchdown passes against LSU, the best percentage of completions in years against KSU, ranked in the top ten of North Texas QBs ever, led the only win in the history of the program at Troy in 2011, and a two year captain and starter. I' d say that trumps no stats but those from a private school in CO against very suspect competition. In looking at BBs signing day film some of those receivers were so open that I could have hit them. Note that they were all Lilly white as well. I in No way am saying BB is not a quality QB, but let the competition prove that he is

I am not related to DT. I have met him several times as well as having him as a friend on Facebook. I have met his parents at a tailgate once. I get my info by networking and reading the athletic dept.board. I also have met Brandon Byrd, Marcus Trice, and Brelan Chancellor at a fund raiser in Lewisville this spring. All four are fine representatives of UNT, and they believe in each other. As far as Mac playing close to the vest I agree but in talking with Coach Canales it was not the coaches' who lost confidence in DT it was DT who lost confidence in himself. Probably he lost confidence because of the constant bitching of some fans.Give the guy his chance to compete as a senior and a captain. If BB wins the job fine, but never insinuate that DT is not giving all he has for this team and is not trying to improve this spring. BB should not be anointed till he proves he deserves to be a starter. Until I see him play in a game with the likes of KSU, LSU, or AL I'll take a proven QB over one that has never even taken a D-1 snap any day.

I've seen the time when we were on the 10 PM news at least twice a week, but we were competing with anyone who would schedule us including the metroplex privates. What I am saying is if we lose BIG now we look like we belong back in the SLC. Hell even there we competed better on much less money, talent, and facilities. I disagree and feelthat this game will not get the hype it deserves especially in little "d"

First of all where did you last coach because I got my comment on receivers quitting on their routes in talking with Chico at the FB Banquet. He also encouraged Derek to lose the weight which he did. DT has the confidence of his teammates or he would not be a team captain. When they see BB dogging it on the sidelines as a third teamer would you trust him to be your leader? As far as WKU no one felt worse about the INT than DT. He didn't come out of the dressing room till almost time to board the bus. A loss hurts him more than most on last year's team. BTW WKU took over in their territory and proceeded to run it down the throat of the defense. They should take their share of the blame for that loss. They sure did zero to stop the WKU!!!!

Typical air head on campus. Few have been shown that athletic events can actually be a part of their social life. A quality product on the field that at least wins at home would sure help.

The 2014 game with SMU that starts the series is extremely scary. Lose big time in this game and this ship has most all jumping overboard. The DFW press and media will write us off as a complete failure. Our coaches generally treat this as just another ho hum non- conference game. If they do that this time they will find just how empty that Apogee can be. If we don't treat this as a BIG game I' d take a buy out now before we are completely and utterly embarrassed.

Loss of Tulsa, ECU, & Tulane are more than replaced by MTSU, WKU, and the 5,000,000 Miami metroplex. We have UTEP, Rice, LA Tech,& UTSA with which to build rivalries. Only adding ULaLa & Ark. State will balance the divisions and make C-USA better. I'm proud for UNT to be a member. Until we win and draw we are in the best place possible and above what we deserve looking at our performance in the SBC.

$20 . Per semester hour will get you there quicker than our paltry $7. Increase.

As stated before DT DId NOT play defense nor could he stop receivers from quitting on their routes---see Ivan Delgado and others besides Brelan Chancellor. When we lost Jimmerson & Chancellor no one else could have done any better. DT will win games for us---my prediction is seven.

DT is the man. I am excited that we will see the QB that got a congratulatory letter from KSU head coach Bill Snyder after last year's game. DT has faced big time teams ( LSU,KSU,AL) and never backed down. BB has never taken a snap as a D-1 QB, comes from a private HS in CO, where he faced questionable competition, and has been quick to pack up and leave when he doesn't get his way, and finally he only has one season under Chico and that was on the scout team. DT has been here all coach Canales tenure and has a good grasp of what's expected of him. All who thought he would give up his position in competition don't know DT. He is a great person and leader, that's why he been a captain then last two years.

Sad but true. I'm sure SMU is looking forward to that series beginning in 2014. June Jones figures he can permanently make North Texas a non factor in the metroplex for the foreseeable future with butt lickings that will come out of this series. We will be the laughing stock of the area.

You forgot to add that DT is throwing touchdowns while BB learns how to be a D-1 QB

Note that we never have any of our alums on development staff. If you truly want to court the metroplex, why not have staff members from here who know people in the metroplex? Denton is a lost cause and further time spent here is wasted time. If you truly want Denton County go to Lewisville or the Colony, but better yet have people not afraid to cross the county line to promote.

The older alums who have seen success cling to the hope that this ship can be righted. Coach Mac has promised that it will happen, but we do not have the luxury to wait for four years into his tenure for this to happen. We must win NOW! You can sense the pain and envy of our alums in the metroplex at any gathering. We must get better soon. I do disagree that culture change will ever come to Denton. College town and Denton don't even belong in the same sentence.

The future is now. We don't have the luxury of a four year wait to break even.

UNT is # 45. Take the enrollment at FIU and note that they have double our athletic fee per semester hour. They will be a force in C-USA

. Hayden Fry's record after his first two years. 7-12-2 so what is the significance of 9-15? DT does not play defense nor can he control when receivers quit on their routes. Berglund has yet to take a snap as a D-1 QB. Let this be settled on the field not in a fan message board. The competition will make both better, but to anoint a guy who has not played in three years over a senior starter and captain is way premature.

Dead wrong about DT. He will be the senior starter come 8/31. Berglund thinks he can rest on his laurels of three years ago. DT knows the offense ,now has the confidence of his receivers ,is quick enough to be mobile (he does not have to run it forty yards just be positive yard threat to keep the defense honest). DT is a proven commodity ( see @ Troy in 2011 & @ KSU in 2013). McNulty was pitiful starting the Tulsa game in 2011. For all the pre spring talk look at Coaches' Mac & Chico's remarks after Sat. Scrimmage, and it's obvious that DT is doing good things!!!

The Mountain West does not want UTEP and who anywhere wants another private school??? Even the Big 12 would tell you they have two too many private schools. Don't know where you get your info, but I don't see either one of those moves on the horizon. I agree ASU & U-LaLa would be great additions now. I would not be oppossed to New Mexico State in the unlikely event that UTEP were to bolt. Personally I love going to LaLa, Boca, and Miami. Much better destinations than Troy and Jonesboro.

Berglund pulls up lame. Is this the beginning of the great choke?? Coaches pleased with play of DT. DT is a seasoned senior in this system. Where has BB (some on this board's super hero) been in the last 3 years? Thompson has shown flashes of greatness against top competition. Who has Berglund played?

Why would we want another home game? We never draw flies after homecoming, and when your play is this bad it is easier to stay off the metroplex radar by playing on the road. Pray for a buy out before the SMU series starts as there will be no place to hide on that one when we get thoroughly embarrassed before the whole metroplex over and over again.

GUESS THERE IS NO SPELL CHECK ON TOPICS, BUT WHY CAN'T THE GENERAL PUBLIC SEE THEY'VE BEEN DUPED ON THIS BEING BILLED AS A NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP WHEN BB HAS THE PERFECT MODEL. HIGH SCHOOL PLAYERS PLAY AS MANY GAMES TO GET TO A STATE CHAMPIONSHIP AS THIS WOULD REQUIRE SO THAT DOG WON'T HUNT ON TOO MUCH TIME AWAY.
