Talk to Daryl Dickey, Matt Simon, and Corky Nelson-----no facilities, no support from administration, rampant apathy among faculty, town and students, no money for assistants and limited staff. All but the apathy of the Denton community have improved by light years from those tenures until MacCarney took over, and no MAC you did not invent North Texas football. There were many proud years here under the most adverse of circumstances. The Dickey like crying of late needs to be put in perspective. Talk of accountability needs to be directed to within, after four years these are your recruits and much more than has been seen in this season should be expected.

So agree you can not trust him to not lose a game for you with attitude and work ethic he now has!

Senator Royce West has made it a point that no other school has ever had to make up more than two years of misappropriations , and why is North Texas being singled out? The State Auditors should also be held to a higher standard of accountability to have missed the obvious for so many years. You can bet other state schools are shaking in their boots with similar skeletons. Note story this week that Gov. Perry disbursed $51 million to UTD from the Economic Development Fund w/o UTD even having made a request for those funds. Politics as usual in Texas---final settlement will be nowhere close to figures DMNS has reported. Remember that DAMNS is a Belo publication as is DRC and both will paint UNT in the worst light possible to please their SMU educated owners.

The key thing that would improve everything is to increase the student athletic fee to that charged by Texas State and UTSA. Our students have assumed the $7. increase that they approved is a big deal( $3. was already going to athletics). Time to man up and put $20./ semester hour as the fee. FL schools are charging multiples of that. All we are asking is what the rest of Texas schools already charge. Why do we fear the students? ----Where else are they going to get this education at this price? Be like UT and T$AM, if you don't like it don't let the door hit you in the butt!!!

Many years ago Rod Rust proved that Yankee coaches do not impress Texas high school coaches or players!

Just look at the records of the teams to whom we have lost --UT 2-4 and struggling ; La Tech loses to FCS Northwestern State; IU-has one quality win against a Missouri team that has since proven to be greatly overrated as well as IU having lost to FCS Bowling Green; UAB outside of scoring points against MSU nothing of consequence even losing to FIU. This is MUCH different than last season when we competed with Ohio, Georgia, and Tulane in mostly games that were decided in the fourth quarter not by halftime or before as this year has been. I see no leadership and little toughness in this year's team. As MAC said at last night's show being " soft and light between the ears" is not a good combination. Anybody else think that was in direct reference to DaJon?

I agree thoroughly with Mac's comments, and admire his truthful evaluation. I too question the toughness and desire of this football team. No senior leadership has been shown to date.

I can see giving Mini MAC the start. Four interceptions and generally a poor attitude do not make a leader. Go with the experience and salvage what you can of a lost season.

Las Vegas must be on something showing us as a 10.5 FAVORITE over So. Miss. I would not give those points even if we were playing Nicholls again!

O-Line has probably been the most overrated in history. Flat out can not run block or pass block!

Apogee should be a good place to visit if you like a lot of peace and solitude for the four remaining home games!

Agreed I've never seen a uniform win a game, but I also tire of seeing a band without uniforms. What they wear is befitting of a junior high band.

These articles were fairly written and chronicled just how far this team has to improve. DaJon will learn and improve, but poor play by an experienced secondary, no sacks by D Line, poor play by receivers other than Harris, and an incredibly stupid recognition of an onside kick after Coach Perry told them it was coming are extremely disturbing for the rest of the season

This years team should not be included in the same sentence as last year's team. Last year ---grit,fire, and determination. This year---give up, no pride, check it in early. Do you miss DT as a leader yet?

No it could be much worse than that since the Big Ten is a horrible league. They lost to Bowling Green !

As a former FB assistant once said" potential means you ain't done shit yet". Vito was very kind as we lost to a very mediocre team and like LaTech made them look much better than what they are. Mac and staff had extremely poor preparation for having an open date!!!

We would not have beaten SMU today!!!! What did we do on the open date? For sure it was not used to prepare for this game!!! Don' t get hung up on IU being a good team. True they had a monumental upset of Missouri, but lost to Maryland who was absolutely destroyed by OSU today. They did have a win over Indiana State, an FCS, but lost to Bowling Green of the MAC. This may even be a worse effort than La Tech. We certainly gave no pretension that we wanted to win from the opening kick off. Disgusted and frustrated going into CUSA play.

Remember IU lost to Bowling Green, and like most Big 10 teams they will be big and slow (built for mud and snow). I think our relative quickness and QB run threat bodes well here.

Don't take FAU lightly as they staged a great comeback to upset UTSA
