Surely Prez S will question what is happening in the revenue sports! I really want to believe that then I look at his long time UTA background and remember that UTA stands for " unbelievably tainted athletics" !!!

I know that it was a long time ago but I saw only 5 or 6 FB loses my last three years at North Texas. We had a number of players that achieved success in the pros, but the one thing that never changed was lack of attendance. There were other successes under Fry, Nelson, and Dickey, but still no increase in attendance. MAC talks a good game, but it is time for him to back it up when he says " losing is not acceptable" and make his players believe that as well. I have seen that people can be inspired when they see success, but I find MAC's tirade at the signing day to be nauseating. Put a product on the field and we can draw ( see Heart of Dallas Bowl). But note the biggest crowds we have had have always been in Dallas where the alumni base and the money reside. As long as our students pay 1/2 the athletic fee of those at UTSA and TSU@SM we will suffer. Not playing the third game in the Cotton Bowl during the State Fair is just stupid. Denton is content for UNT to be seen as only a music and education school. Why is this so? Is this a unique city of 100K+ that is too stupid to realize without their largest employer and provider of sales tax revenue that they would be of stature with Sanger or Decatur? Music and education provided the foundation for today's UNT but today UNT is business, medicine, pharmacy, engineering, logistics, fashion, and art . To compare the UNT of today to that of 50 years ago is apples and oranges . Put a product on the field NOW! I am sick of losing to a program that gave up FB (UAB) and start ups (UTSA) with players who are uninspired, unprepared, and not put in a position to win by a coach and staff that are the highest paid and best equipped of any FB staff ever at NT!!!

Agree with NT 90, but I still like the upside of Connor Means. If he has a spring commensurate with what I saw last spring when he led the obviously outmanned white team to a respectable showing I think he deserves a legitimate shot to start if he shows the ability this spring and summer. He has the size, mobility, intelligence, and arm. At least one of these attributes is missing in each of the other three returning QB candidates.

You could give away free tickets and have Britaney Spears parachute in the game ball nude and still not get the typical Denton fan to attend. I would love to see the stats on "reserved" side attendance as to how many reside in the Denton city limits. I'll wager more than half are from outside Denton on any game day.

We stand a chance against AAC, MAC, MT. WEST, Service Academies & SBC NO chancel against P5. I'm tired of being hyped over body bag games and whoring out our players. Boise , TCU , and others played some real dogs I.e. Samford in 2014. Build a winning record before you schedule TN. IA . If you have to whore out for $$$ look where your real problem i-----RAISE STUDENT FEE TO $20/ semester hour like your competition already does! Just got a bill for $3,150. as thanks for suffering through 4-8. Time for students to quit riding a gravy train for a $7. increase four years ago! Students need to quit patting themselves on the back for a $7. increase and pay the going rate i.e. $20/ semester hour .

UTA claims 37K so we are not even #1 in the metroplex!!!

I view actually four eras as significant in 50 years of watching Mean Green FB. 1) Joe Greene era2) Hayden Fry era 3) 1-AA era under Corky Nelson 4) SBC Bowl era under DD. Notice I did not include MAC or H of D bowl as jury is I still out. I witnessed MAC' s colossal melt down at the signing day reception which was frankly embarrassing and I truly expected he was going to have a stroke right there before us. How can MAC & RV expect sell outs when the on the field performance is not even mediocre? SMU suffered a worse season last year and immediately took steps to remedy, had a great recruiting class, and hired a quality coach to lead them in 2015. I foresee them beating us by at least two touchdowns at Ford this fall. Talk about a downer before your home opener the next week.

White was an A. D. who came here from Iowa, saw what the job really entailed and quit within one week. The A. D. Wardly was referring to was Richard McDuffy who came here from Central Conneticut State, was here for a few seasons including the'88 UT game and left with UNT Police head's wife for Southeast Missouri State in Cape Girardeau, MO

The way we have laid down this year being on the road next year is the good news.

Al Hurley only gave us the SLC to appease " the diehards" as he called us. I was there in the KALK Room @ Fouts when he announced the decision to drop down. He lamented the cost of a FB program and stated that lacrosse was big at Air Force. The only reason we ever went back up was that Steve Sloan said we could play enough body bag games that it would cost nothing to be D-1. Make no mistake FB was a step child unwanted by the administration, but at least we won as a member of the SLC and did not feel the need to be ashamed of the program. In retrospect maybe the SLC or below is where we have chosen to be. By fearing a real student fee of $20. per semester hour we give the impression that we intend to stay below TSU@SM and UTSA

Why head coach in waiting? I remember MAC saying he and Skaldany " would ride off into the sunset together". No time like the present for the next " fresh start".

A coach who knew what NT was when it was really a hard place to recruit to. Yet he won and never whined and had a burning desire to succeed. One of the few who have ever actively pursued the job. Thankful that he and wife Judy are both in UNT H of Fame. May he rest in peace and never be forgotten. He guided NT FB through its darkest hours yet had signature wins and three playoff appearances without a shadow of what MAC and crew have had lavished upon them. Want the real truth---above says it all------your team no longer buys in --- they have quit on you and you won't get them back! It's not fans or alums-- you have given them crap and deceived them -----your credibility is gone with the team and the fans. Get serious and increase the student fee to have a real program or just get out and become the horn tooters that Denton wants!

We are also NOT North Texas State for more than two decades but we do nothing to call these people out as either being very old or extremely stupid

There is No Way either Marshall or ECU gets in. The P 5 will never allow them access to their exclusive club. Further evidence that this so-called College Football Playoff unlike the NCAA Basketball Tournament which is a true college playoff is a true farce and sham stuck down the public's throat by slick golden tongue sports writers and shisters like Jerry Jones who continues to capitalize on his P T Barnum like talents. For all that AT& T Stadium will do to pat itself on the back for hosting this in 2015 no one has the guts to call it what it really is --- THE BIGGEST FRAD EVER IN COLLEGE SPORTS. Anything other than a sixteen team playoff is not worthy of crowning a team to be called a true college football champion. Even the BCS flawed as it was proved to be a truer gauge than this farce!!!

Yet the Texas State University system has only one school who chooses to call itself Texas State, which is the name of THE SYSTEM NOT ANY ONE OF THE THREE MEMBERS. In the Hayden Fry era we were told we could not become Texas State and just drop the North because every other Ag college in the country was a "State" i.e. Okla. State, New Mexico State, Ark. State, etc. Thus T$M had reserved the name and had the option to change to it to be in conformity with the other Ag schools in the nation. San Marcos which is officially TEXAS STATE UNIVERSITY AT SAN MARCOS, has no more right to the name TSU than UTA has to call itself UT. No one has chosen to challenge them on this. I personally would like to see changes to Texas State at Huntsville for Sam Houston and Texas State at Nacogdoches for SFA. Justice would only then be served for this sneaky end run pulled off by San Marcos!
