  1. hold on tight, with the words spoken by the AD, President, and TD. THIS RIDE IS GOING TO THE TOP AND FAST!!!!!!!!
  2. When transfering you can go down a classification without sitting out, but if you go up or across you must sit out one year.
  3. Carthel has a proven record and has rebuilt a D-2 school that was pretty much in the same boat.
  4. Quotes from 2006 September Edition Texas Coach Build It and They Will Come "you have to see your product to the athletes, parents, faculty, community, and media. You have to make all of them believe in you and your program." "we spoke to as many civic clubs and other organizations as possible. We drove all over the panhandle speaking and gibing out literature and lapel pins trying to stir up interest in our program. We went to the fraternities and sororities and spoke to the incoming freshman class" "the more fans you can put in the stadium, the harder the athletes will compete for you. If they play the game the way it is intended to be played (hard and with passion), the fans will support them as was evident in Canyon this past season" WT was number 1 in the nation in D-2 attendance in 2005. Increasing attendance over 350% over each of the last four years. We averaged 14,000 fans" “At WT we basically have two rules: Be honest and do what’s right” “ I feel that you not only work on the attitudes of the athletes but also the student body, the fans in the community, and especially the parents.” “Finally, you have to go out and begin to “SELL – SELL – SELL” as you start to rebuild for the next season. Remember…….BUILD IT AND THEY WILL COME…” - Don Carthel
  5. yep - carthel is my front runner choice. both are indicated as front runners from reliable sources
  6. Don Carthel and Sonny Dikes. Carthel is from West Texas and good things come from West Texas. He went to WT and cleaned house of the players who didnt fit what he wanted and went out and recruited ones that would. Since there is very little chance of Paul Johnson getting it he is my front runner. Carthel boosted the attendance and support for WT and is the type of guy that can boost the positive, bring in money and give UNT the image we all want and WIN!!! My dad knows him personally and said that he would be ideal for UNT. Dikes I personally dont think that he can get it do. He is just not the type of guy to go out and do what UNT needs him to do. Politically he wont get the job done and is not very personable. Speaking from experience when I attended TT football camps.
  7. Give this guy a D-1 program with the potential of UNT and he can make it happen. Just look at NAVY.
  8. Playbook online from 2001 http://www.savefile.com/projects/1005283
  9. email me how to get back in turneyj@ucisd.net
  10. They are going to the spread and recieved a verbal from the Kinnee kid. Here is the promo: http://www.ocsn.com/media_server/play.smil...lor/Fishing.asx
  11. Yea McElroy from here just verbally committed to Baylor. Said that they were honest and up front with him and he can go there and play right away. T
  12. Whaaa Whaa Whaaaa
  13. Just a few more to rub it in........
  14. ALL I KNOW IS THAT MY HEAT HAVE A TROPHY AND THE MAVS HAVE A LONG WAY TO ANOTHER SHOT FOR ONE!!!!!
  15. Gripe, complain, wine and or lay the blame. Dallas blew a 2-0 lead to get beat in 6. D-Wade is the best player in the NBA!!! Just as I predicted but 1 game earlier. NBA CHAMPS MIAMI HEAT
  16. CRY CRY CRY that is all the MAV fans have done. Its not fair this or that. BLahh Blahh Blahh. The Mavs could and should have won the series already. Dirk blows a free throw late in both of the last two games that would most likely won the game for the Mavs. So gripe what you want but the MAVS have blown more clritical opportunities that the HEAT. Stackhouse got what he deserved. He took SHAQ out on that play leading with his shoulder and going for the ball at the end of the play. That was intentional. On the replay last night you can see 2 MAVS calling time out. Once they call it they cant take it back. I feel that was theirs and Avery's faults. FUTURE: Look for Dallas to blow the HEAT out of game 6 because of the bitching to come from the Mavs about the officiating but the HEAT WILL WIN IN 7!!!!!!!
  17. email me with details. turneyj@ucisd.net
  18. Our stud down here said that he just recieved some letters and information from UNT and that one was a hand writen letter from a coach. He siad that it indicated that they would be visiting soon.
  19. HOME OF THE GLASS ASS!!!! MULESHOE AMERICA
  20. I know that this is not football, but I have a urgent question. I have an interview next week for a Head football position. AD is not included, any insight or advice you can give is greatly apprecaited. Turney
  21. I was looking on a coaching web site that was talking about Cisco football day, inviting all high school seniors out and went to the web site. Guess who is an OC now. http://www.ranger.cc.tx.us/Football/coaches.htm
  22. Parker was the HC well before my time. Does anyone remember an assistant named Phil Young, may have played TE at Texas Tech prior to coaching at North Texas?
  23. 3A Muleshoe 7th Grade - played 2 games on the B team which we lost 8th Grade - Coaching change and was able to play offense half of the time Freshman year - We didnt have enough kids out to have a fish team so we that did play were all on the JV. I started on Offense the entire year and ended up starting on D for the last half of the year. Sophomore year - Another coaching change and ended fighting for a spot on Varsity because the starter was suspended for drinking (1game). Started the game and the others like if so much they took it to the HC and I stayed up and starting. By the end of the year I was starting both ways. Junior year - Started both ways and was able to be honorable mention o-line Senior year - Started both ways, all district both, all state both, THSCA all star game, and was all set to go to WTA&M. Then Russell runs into the WTA&M head coach in the air port and they start talking he comes out to see me we talk next weekend I am on a plain and off I go to UNT. COLLEGE Freshman year - play in 6 games and tear my knee up bad in win vs Boise State. I get better by spring and am in the mix until Brad Woosley steps on and breaks my foot ( another surgery) Sophmore year - enter Brandon Kennedy and Alex Puhula, after seeing these two I know that loosing a step from all the surgery is going to mean little to no playing time and a maybe not travel squad. So I was asked and gladly moved to the Offensive side for a chance to play and start. Get to play against Baylor a little and Andy Lott gets hurt, end up getting the start at Texas Tech and the rest of the season. Junior year - Continue the streak of starts Senior year - despite surgery before spring ball, I am ready and particiapate and get to help us to a sun belt title and win in NO BOWL. POST COLLEGE There were chances but I was tired of surgery and the hole football thing. I was ready to get on with my life, but owe a ton to the Univeristy, Coaches, and especially football program. Funny thing is I went from a fat slow kid - - 8.4 forty in the seventh grade to decent player in HS 5.4 forty to NFL timed 5.2. I still have HS powerclean record @ 285lbs. Hard work can do wonders. Turney
  24. The only thing that I liked about Mills was the last practice we had with him, it was also Jeff Rodgers last one. Rodgers, Kassell and crew took him down in the stadium. Then the cuffed his hands behind his back, taped his ancles together and then ripped his undies to the tape and left him. I know the video crew has that tape some where. That was the funniest thing that I have ever seen. Chuck put up a good fight but the youngens won in the end. T
  25. Coach Mill knows his stuff, but he comes at players in the wrong way. He would verbally attack plays, their familys, and anyone else associated with them. In front of other athletes, I think to try and motivate or get somthing out of them. My freshman year he kept jumping my but and saying very bad things that I cant write here, until I told him to F*** OFF!!! From then on he treated me like a coach should. Take it for what it is worth. T
