  1. Dickey keeps doing that, making it sound like everyone had given up on the players. Truth be told, we were furious about the losing because we knew the players were better than his play calling. To this day, I have never seen or heard one negative post about the team players as a group being non-quality players. The play calling an stubborness of the head coach is the only thing I have ever seen come to question and just when I had moved on from being mad about it, here he comes again. It is one thing to take pot shots at our fans on KNTU, it is another to take shots at us on ESPN radio. Someone needs to put a cigarette in that boy's mouth so he will stop saying stuff like that. UGH!
  2. I will give you two things that I have learned recently that bothered me abuot Talons. When we were putting the MTSU trip together, some Talons almost couldn't go... why? Because they would lose game "credits" for not watching it on TV with the group. Even though they were actually going to the game. That is silly. Secondly, this weekend is our closest road conference game of the year. We could wrap up the Belt with a NT win and a USU loss; it is a cheap trip and arguably the only realistic road trip for this year. You won't see one Talon there this weekend.. why? They scheduled their initiation on the same day as the game and if you miss then you get in trouble. Organizations need rules and structure, I understand that. But the purpose of Talons is to support the team, if their rules get in the way of that than it is kind of defeating the whole purpose. Gamma Beta Omega is not out to destroy Talons, it is a top secret organization with 3 main goals to be disclosed at a later time (tee hee). Plus, we have that kick ass Lil Sis program. And Iron, I am not a "former student"... there is a big diploma hanging on the wall of my office. It is very insulting to refer to an alumnus as a "former student"... when you graduate next year you will feel that way as well.
  3. I heard that one of their founding fathers once nursed a pelican back to health with only a 6 pack of PBR. Those guys do know how to party, but they are also full of philanthropic spirit. Plus they have that hot Lil Sis program...
  4. Well, I am not on campus... but I heard the same thing. They are called Gamma Beta Omega and they mean business. A little competition never hurt any organization, though. They have a hot Lil Sis program, too.
  5. Whoops, old name.... that was from me.. I tried to delete the old account to no avail today. Inconceivable!
  6. Is it really "hip to be square?"
  7. There is a stretch of about 100 miles with only one gas station and they jack up the prices because of it. Make sure you fill up when it says Last gas for the next 80 mioles or whatever!
  8. Jason Miller was a presence on the inside.... what could have been...
  9. It wasn't that he let Tom Landry go... it was that Tom Landry was itting at home watching tv with his wife and found out he was fired from watching the news. Jones had such little character that he didn't even bother to pick up the phone and call him to tell him. They lost me there and as long as Jerry Jones is making money off of the Cowboys I will never put a dime in his pocket. That is just me, he has come out and apologized for a lot of his past mistakes including firing Jimmy and cheating on his wife; but he has never apologized for that one unforgivable act. Maybe if he did than I would come back but his ego will never let him do it. Add that to the fact that he refused to put Tex in the Ring of honor until after he was deathly ill and now Tex will never get the applause that he deserved; and couple that with all of the ex-Cowboy GREATS that Jones refuses to put in the Ring of Honor because they were not part of his teams. He is the devil and I will not root for his team. If Steven Jones were to take over I would come around, he is a nice, level headed man with class. It is really easy for Jeey to try and make up for this stuff now that his team sucks; but his actions while he was on top were attrocious. I will cheer for my suck ass Chargers (originally from San Diego) until he shows me a sincere change and a huge apology to the Landry family for firing the only coach the Cowboy's had ever known through the 6:00 o'clock news because he was too chicken sh!t to pick up the phone and tell him himself. Landry needed to go.... the way it was done is just about unforgivable but until an apology is actually extended then we will never really know. I know that I am proabbly in the minority on this ordeal but it hurt Tim so bad that he wouldn't even step foot in Texas Stadium for 8 years. The only reason he did then was because he respected the Ring of Honor, not Jones; and the only reason Jones put him in was to try and take the attention off of a very bad team and try to make money off of the occasion.
  10. COWBOY'S - FAN - a very big oxymoron.
  11. The paradox of our time in history is that we have taller buildings but shorter tempers, wider freeways, but narrower viewpoints. We spend more, but have less, we buy more, but enjoy less. We have bigger houses and smaller families, more conveniences, but less time. We have more degrees but less sense, more knowledge, but less judgment, more experts, yet more problems, more medicine, but less wellness. We drink too much, smoke too much, spend too recklessly, laugh too little, drive too fast, get too angry, stay up too late, get up too tired, read too little, watch TV too much, and pray too seldom. We have multiplied our possessions, but reduced our values. We talk too much, love too seldom, and hate too often. We've learned how to make a living, but not a life. We've added years to life not life to years. We've been all the way to the moon and back, but have trouble crossing the street to meet a new neighbor. We conquered outer space but not inner space. We've done larger things, but not better things. We've cleaned up the air, but polluted the soul. We've conquered the atom, but not our prejudice. We write more, but learn less. We plan more, but accomplish less. We've learned to rush, but not to wait. We build more computers to hold more information, to produce more copies than ever, but we communicate less and less. These are the times of fast foods and slow digestion, big men and small character, steep profits and shallow relationships. These are the days of two incomes but more divorce, fancier houses, but broken homes. These are days of quick trips, disposable diapers, throwaway morality, one night stands, overweight bodies, and pills that do everything from cheer, to quiet, to kill. It is a time when there is much in the showroom window and nothing in the stockroom. A time when technology can bring this letter to you, and a time when you can choose either to share this insight, or to just hit delete. Remember, spend some time with your loved ones, because they are not going to be around forever. Remember, say a kind word to someone who looks up to you in awe, because that little person soon will grow up and leave your side. Remember, to give a warm hug to the one next to you, because that is the only treasure you can give with your heart and it doesn't cost a cent. Remember, to say, "I love you" to your partner and your loved ones, but most of all mean it. A kiss and an embrace will mend hurt when it comes from deep inside of you. Remember to hold hands and cherish the moment for someday that person will not be there again. Give time to love, give time to speak, and give time to share the precious thoughts in your mind. Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away. HOW TO STAY YOUNG 1. Throw out nonessential numbers. This includes age, weight and height. Let the doctor worry about them. That is why you pay him/her. 2. Keep only cheerful friends. The grouches pull you down. 3. Keep learning. Learn more about the computer, crafts, gardening, whatever. Never let the brain idle. " An idle mind is the devil's workshop." And the devil's name is Alzheimer's. 4. Enjoy the simple things. 5. Laugh often, long and loud. Laugh until you gasp for breath. 6. The tears happen. Endure, grieve, and move on. The only person who is with us our entire life, is ourselves. Be ALIVE while you are alive. 7. Surround yourself with what you love, whether it's family, pets, keepsakes, music, plants, hobbies, whatever.Your home is your refuge. 8. Cherish your health: If it is good, preserve it. If it is unstable, improve it. If it is beyond what you can improve, get help. 9. Don't take guilt trips. Take a trip to the mall, to the next county, to a foreign country, but NOT to where the guilt is. 10. Tell the people you love that you love them, at every opportunity. AND ALWAYS REMEMBER: Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away. If you don't send this to at least 8 people.... who cares? -George Carlin
  12. I am pretty sure that he will start Drew. I don't think he should but I think that is what will happen. Won't make me cheer any less. Hell, maybe all the Scott fans should shut the hell up, sometimes I think that coaches do stuff directly against fan sentiment. Some of the comments made in the coach's shows have shown me that those guys do tune in to the message boards from time to time. They are in charge and have to live with the outcome of their decisions so I am not going to give them a hard time about it. The question here is probably not who DD wants in the most but who Flanigan feels he can win with.
