I don't think so. This was a time when RV's stock hadn't fallen yet. It was the first time I realized there was a problem.

I had a plugged in AD employee tell me 5 or so years ago they had Mizzou ready to come Apogee. RV shut it down because he didn't want to rub anyone the wrong way during the last conference shuffle. This guy told me the rest of the staff who put it together were pretty upset about it. I just can't remember RV's reasoning. I seemed like horrible reasoning to me at the time which is probably why I don't remember. Can anyone (former or current AD employee) fill in the blanks here? I was asked to keep at the time but I figure it's ok now.

The article also states we won 10 games in 2013 and that we are the 5th largest University in Texas. At least the tone of the article was about right.

For what the position is, what we have grown into, and what we will pay, the new hire needs to be a bonafide bad ass in all areas - not just a one trick pony. We are beyond that.

I can't quite decide between Better Husbands or Better Fathers. Both have been in the program for years without much production.

I will still go to all of the home football games and the Army game, because I love football, my alma matter that much and I've never visited NYC. I will go to couple of basketball games because it's an excuse to see my daughter in Denton. But...I will never expect anything other than a poor product ever again. I will only purchase one piece of Mean Green gear per year. I will not purchase season tickets. I will not contribute to the Mean Green Club (and I have given thousands). I will never ever again try to be an ambassador of the program - it only makes me look silly. I am embarrassed at how poorly this university is managed.

I agree about the number of their fans showing up and your reasoning. Mean Green fans would show up in Dallas in much larger numbers than SMU regardless of opponent. SMU has the worst fan base in FBS football. UNT has been called a "sleeping giant" and it's true. It's maddening that our current situation is allowed to happen.

There was a good amount of La Tech fans there so a tip of the hat to them. I'd say 4600 was about right.

Sorry I missed you as I was there too. My daughter gave me and the fam a tour of the new Union after the game. The place is amazing! My favorite little touch is SOW in white on the green felt of the pool tables. Add to that just how cool the entire area around the square has become and a trip back to Denton is really a fun event.
