  1. http://www.sunbeltsports.org/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=4100&ATCLID=1607437 The more I read this, the ONLY way it makes sense is if you determine a divisional winner first. If that is the case we are the #1 seed. Irregardless, the wording is vague. Is this only for seeding purposes or for determineing a conference champ? Haven't we had a multitude of conference co-champions in the past?
  2. Good Post. Many in DC are choosing to resign/not run again because the chances of an incumbent gaining re-election are pretty slim whether Democrat or Republican. If you were to trying to seek re-election it would be costly and bitter. Kind of like lose the battle but win the war. You will see many of these people again. There is pressure for them to step down from their own party if there is deemed a suitable/popular candidate from their own party to fill the void.
  3. If I produced evidence you wouldn't believe it so I won't bother. Why do you assume that in all of the studies that all of the scientist have conducted junk science? Why do you assume they conducted this research with a bias? Why do you think if contrarian evidence is produced that they turn a blind eye? As for me, I beleive more in the scientific community than I do you or the media. As for the Fouts Field example, hmmmm....seemed off base and overly simplistic...but I'll give it a try. If the two people that left were, let's say Todd Dodge and Gary Deloach, and they were nude, yes I would notice. That's my final answer; Global Warming is like a nude Todd Dodge and Gary Deloach that left the game while we were losing-quitters! I'm done. You can have the last word no matter how paranoid and conspiratorial. Don't disappoint!
  4. Nice find, you really dug deep on this one. You went far beyond reputable scientific journals and linked an article from a British daily tabloid. The whole idea of Global Warming was met with a great deal of scepticism as are ALL new ideas and theories in the scientific community. Only after a great deal of debate and research do these ideas and theories become accepted. There are flaws of course, mistakes will have been made and continue to be made, and research will be invalidated which is great. That is how the process works. At the end of the day, every national science academy that has issued a statement on the subject agree on 1) The climate has warmed in recent decades at a pace far greater than previous known global warmings and 2)That human activities have influenced this. No known scientific society rejects these findings. Again, nice find.
  5. Nevermind, I found it (September 18th) on the Army site. Why isn't it on ours?
  6. I tried to look on the official site for the game date. Is it official? If so, when is it?
  7. I would think TCU, BYU, Utah, Boise, and Houston are all possibilities.
  8. We are 118 in the nation. FWIW Georgia is 119 and Miami (OH) is 120.
  9. We win going away if: We win or tie in the turnover battle. If Riley makes better decisions and our D can come up with a few fumbles we win this game. I say this because generally speaking, if you take out the 'Bama game, we are better than our opponents at yards per passing attempt, yards per rushing attempt, and 3rd down conversions. Yes, our offense and defense are better than most of the teams we faced this year. We quite frankly kick ass at converting 3rd downs. We turn the ball over way to much and we don't force turnovers. But hey, that's part of the game. And oh yeah, we need to line up under center near the goal line. My frustration this year has been that we have been so much superior athlete wise than many of the teams we lost to this year. See ULL, FAU, FIU. We were on par with Ohio and the MUTS. While Bama, Troy, and ULM were just better.
  10. Still, the biggest ass whipping ever. I mean, really?
  11. I'll be there with my 3 kiddos. I'm too old to raise hell but they aren't. They are being indoctrinated well.
  12. Um, they dominated us. Their athletes were better than ours period. Should they be? No. Is that a coaching issue? Yes. I believe 90% of college coaching is recruiting.
  13. I saw Joe at the Florida Atlantic game. My wife and I were walking in to the game, downing our beers and Joe asks my wife "does your mama know you're drinking that beer?"
  14. I wish this kid the best of luck. I had a torn labrum and it just slowly gets worse. It will affect his ability to play well and get stronger in the weight room. I find it hard to beleive this kid doesn't get surgury now because this injuy takes almost a year to rehab. If this kid waits he will play in pain, he will not be as effective, he will not get stronger, and he will have a year of eligibility burned in an increasingly diminished capacity. It will be interesting to me how this plays out. Frank Solich should know all of this of course.
  15. Craig "Hit Man" Jones. He hit like linebacker while playing safety. A close second was WR Marcus Camper during the Corky Nelson era.
  16. #53 Daniel Prior
  17. Riley looked the very impressive. He forced a couple of throws that were so forced that I thought he may have been told by TD that he if he got the opportunity, heave a couple up to see if there was a receiver with Johnny Quinn type skills that would be able to bring it down. Some may say they were poor decisions and they may have been, but Riley had such a comfortable presence I doubt it. The most impressive thing about Riley was his running ability. Riley is by far the best quarterback we have had around here since I have been following the program ('83). The jury is still out for me on the DL. Sure they are better, but are they good? We will just have to see when they line up against Ball State.
  18. Citizens debate Insurance reform town hall Why no football y'all?
  19. Not a ruptured spleen Sykes dismissed from our Mean Green Jenna Jameson
  20. Joel, the GM at Frankie's in Uptown (not Lewisville) has graciously penciled us in for that evening. Me and my crew will be there which is around 20 people. Joel has asked for a head count so if you are interested let me know so I can give him an estimate.
  21. I took a quick look at the scores each game last year. Talk about a reality check, good lord we were bad. Last year I predicted a 1 win season with the distinct possiblity of going o-fer. My prediction this year is a 2 win season. I see 3 games that we will be competitive in which are ULM, WKU, and Army. All of these are home games so I give us 2 of 3.
  22. I know we were blessed with GREAT weather for the game Saturday, but wasn't attendance much greater than you expected? Most are upset with the level of play, the coach, special teams coaches, and the Atheletic Department in general. Why do you think people as showing up in greater numbers than in the Dickey glory years? I think it is because Dodge ball is still fun to watch-even in blow out loses. This offense at least moves the ball even if we are having trouble getting in the end zone. If I had to choose watching a 3-9 DD team or a 0-12 Dodge team I would choose the Dodge team because it's just more fun. Can you imagine what the attendance would be if this team were in the hunt for a conference championship? Hiring a coach that comes with an exciting offense was the right thing to do. If we improve the athleticism on D to upper middle pack SBC teams, we would be in contention for a conference title again and attendance would be the best in the SBC. Before anyone goes crazy on me here: I know the attendance numbers were inflated a bit. I do want to win. I am not slamming DD. I know Dodge has made some blunders. I realize losing to a conference foe by 29 is really bad.
  23. There is a serious dearth of talent on this team. It has been like this for 4 years. Remember the Vic Trilli days when the talent left because of his coaching? That kind of dearth of talent. I had the opportunity to choose between golf at White Bluff or watch the UNT/FIU game next weekend, I chose golf. This just isn't any fun for me when my team can't compete. I've got better things to do. Please don't get me wrong, I would like to see a rebuilding process. This is just too bad to spend my time watching every home game. So count me in as one of the guys that says it's talent. That all being said, Adler has it figured out. We need to address "The Problem."
