It’s WAY cheaper than that out of Dallas. The basketball team plays there on Tuesday following the bowl game. Too bad the games aren’t closer.

NT and SMU are pretty comparable teams I think. But blowing that lead is really disappointing. We should win all 6 games in December. That would be nice.

Hopefully once Smart gets the rust off things will start firing on all cylinders again.

Oklahoma doesn’t look good. Really feels like a game we should be winning. A fit Smart would help.

Not all of these shots we are missing are contested. Some of these layup misses are brutal.

Could this season have been better? Sure. Could last season have been worse? Absolutely. These things happen. Recruiting has obviously taken a step forward this season which is reason for optimism. Most importantly, the expectations from this fan base have risen.

I know it’s a holiday weekend but this crowd is embarrassing.

The passive (and some not passive) aggressive angst against the Davy O’Brien award is really silly. As if those three guys that got picked don’t have a really good case for it. No, it must still be some sort of anti-North Texas conspiracy.

Couple thoughts. 1) We have to earn relevance. That’s how the world works. Going Indy and declaring ourselves a P5 is like starting your own LLC, making yourself CEO, and then expecting Bill Gates to take your call. 2) If the best argument that going Indy worked well the first time is because “4 of Frys 6 teams would have gone bowling with the number of bowls we have today” or that we beat a Tennessee team that would have gone bowling (if all these bowls existed then) that’s far from a portrait of relevance. 2a) CMJ is 100% right. Horrendous affiliation decisions in the 70s and 80s set this program back 20 years. Doing that again will seal our fate for good.

Yes. Probably even a little more confused. It doesn’t really matter what you call it. We need the same success and fan support to get to the next level whether we are in a conference or not. Going independent and calling ourselves a P5 is absolutely meaningless. All it does is take away our chance to play for a conference title.
