  1. The venue looks great. If we are looking for something to complain about, having a track around the soccer field isn’t exactly ideal, but that would be the only thing. I do hope that in the longer term the soccer team gets its own standalone venue.
  2. ODU is public.
  3. Underrated.
  4. We lost 4 votes in the coaches poll. Down from 7 to 3. Interesting.
  5. Indiana State takes down UNLV tonight. Also, Hawaii beat Colorado.
  6. Playing on the road is way harder than at home
  7. Given what the UAPB ranking was I would have expected to move down win or lose. So I’ll take that.
  8. I don’t think it’s ego, though I do think we should make a point of having (even just marginally) a bigger arena than TCU/SMU/UTA. So I guess that part is ego. I don’t think we’ve seen what basketball can be with a competent coach plus competent leadership plus full administrative support. Not all at the same time Maybe I’m overly optimistic, I just think that results in more than 6,000 seats needed. It’s not like a football stadium where you can adjust to future needs. The good news is the next few years should substantiate one way or the other what the capacity should be.
  9. Best of luck to Coach Choice. I’m sure he loves GT as much as we all love NT. Can never blame someone for going back to their alma mater, bigger paycheck or not. His contributions here were significant.
  10. TCU is at 6,700 SMU at 7,000 with UTA. UH is at 7,100. We should not be smaller than any of those IMHO. @TheReal_jayD mentioned 8,000 in a different thread but it looks like 6-7 what the master plan website says. I’m sure it will be awesome. I can just see us very easily outgrowing 6,000 (if that’s what it is).
  11. Winning this by less than 10 would not be helpful for the NET ranking.
  12. I think we need to see what happens with attendance the next few years before locking ourselves in. The problem is we only get one shot at building a new arena. If we build too small we are stuck with it. I would love to see something similar to what Northern Kentucky has. Modern arena with all the amenities. 10,000 capacity.
  13. We can do better than this.
  14. McCasland once again proving he’s not afraid to burn timeouts to make an immediate point.
  15. We will see what attendance does the next few years. I’m hoping we prove 7,000 is way too small a venue for a school our size.
  16. A new arena is fine (though I agree is NOT needed). A 7,000 capacity for a 40,000 student university is way too small though. We don’t need to build a 15,000 seat arena but it needs to be at least 10,000. I’d like to see something similar to Norther Kentucky.
  17. The problem with a larger capacity is that the team that plays there the most is just waffling around and not building a meaningful fan base despite a fair amount of on field success. (FC Dallas).
  18. I’d say MAYBE 5-6k actual human beings there.
  19. 59-46. They gave Bradley a game in her hometown.
  20. Around 25,000 I believe.
  21. I disagree about the stadium. It’s average on it’s best day. The city itself is actually quite fun.
  22. I think the fact that Littrell himself went out to visit many of the top recruits just recently was huge. I imagine we will hold on to most if not all of them.
  23. The problem with CUSA is that we have the terrible teams like all of the other G5 conferences, but don’t have the elite attention grabbing teams. The only other conference kind of like that is the MAC. The AAC definitely overrates themselves but are way better than CUSA.
