Even crazier, the game against VCU was the first time since 1980 we had lost to a ranked opponent by less than 10 points.
-
The game was in the SBC tourney in New Orleans. 1999 against #25 Tulsa was the last top 25 opponent hosted at home. Last win was in 1971 @ #15 Louisville. Current (almost unbelievable) streak of 47 losses to ranked opponents. Last win against a ranked opponent at home was in 1970 against #11 Drake.

Are other recruits specifically tied to Renfro. I know they were all hanging out but not sure which ones were on board first. -
‘20 QB Austin Renfro - Stephenville

Disappointing development but we haven’t lost the battle yet. -
Not that I’m looking ahead too much, but it’s a bummer OU lost to Stanford (badly) a couple days ago on a game they were favored in. Otherwise they likely would have been ranked for our matchup next week. We haven’t hosted a ranked team in like 20-25 years.

I just picked a sport like you said!
-
Well, there's one sport that we don't....
-
To the extent this wasn't a rhetorical question: Lauren Holmes before she transferred back home. Trena Mims. Terriel Bradley was here for 3 of her 4 college years. Mitchell's win total has increased in each of her first four years. We are replacing one of the most prolific scorers in program history (Bradley) and are early in the season working through that. I think it is a little premature to doom this season.

It is incredibly frustrating as a NT fan that we are going on a combined 100 years since we’ve beaten a ranked team in football or men’s basketball.
-
Good for them. Not only did they beat the #1 team in the nation, but that ending will be watched millions of times. Epic.
-
I watched probably 10-15 minutes of the game. Hard to watch. We definitely appeared more athletic but had all kinds of trouble finishing layups. I will say there are Freshmen getting significant minutes on this team. So hopefully things come together a little better in the coming weeks.

But switches to Gonzaga at the last minute? 😡
-
What insight do we have into Will Kuehne? Or really, Austin Aune, who certainly looks good in his limited action. I’m guessing Kade Renfro is coming in with the full intention of competing for the starting job right from the beginning. I could be completely wrong, but I really think we are going to be ok at quarterback next year.
-
Yeah, but we’d never really seen Mason play either. We have quite a few guys that are highly thought of in what should be an intriguing QB battle. Is it just because we are NT that people assume the worst?
-
Those that are assuming we will be terrible just because Mason is graduating are really underrating our Young QB talent, IMO.
-
Amazingly, it’s been a pretty long time since we’ve had nothing to play for at home. First time in the SL era. Edit: So yes, I think we are better off than pre-SL.

Ladies Sign a 4 star Tommisha Lampkin
Mean Green Matt replied to UNTLifer's topic in UNT Basketball Recruiting
I believe that is a record signing for us. Candace Adams is the only other 4* I can think of from the class of 2013. Her grade was 92 with an overall rank of 99 and position rank of 29. -
Funny you left 66-7 off of the 2015 losses. LOL.
-
Indeed. RIP. Hopefully we don’t even need one of these next year.
-
I understand having a “win now” attitude but my goodness. He took over a 1-win disaster of a team and won 5 games. Also, why do so many have such a negative view or our bowl game that year? Because we only had 5 wins? So what? God forbid the student-athletes get a reward for their work in the classroom when not enough teams win 6 games.
-
We absolutely should have beaten Charlotte. We basically gave the game away toward the end. But I think people underrate Charlotte. They just beat a pretty good Marshall team too. Worse than they beat us.
-
He’s 40 years old. I hope he starts winning conference titles and never leaves North Texas. But I don’t think mindlessly collecting a paycheck before getting fired and going back to an OC gig is on his list of life goals.
-
That only makes the 11 part misleading. Not the 0 part.
-
I guess the hope is that the team is learning way more from this stretch of games than playing our traditional meaningless OOC schedule. And that those lessons pay off in March.

11-0 run to end the game for UTah state. Wow.
