  2. There’s a basketball forum, fellas.
  3. I’m talking about the relationships and locations of the last two in particular. Kids can make bad decisions for explainable reasons. Edit: to the extent it’s even a bad decision. Maybe playing in FL was important to Dempsey. I believe someone said Ligon has a brother at UTSA. Maybe playing together is important enough to him to go to a lesser school. I don’t think these last two are an indictment of the health of our program.
  4. I dislike losing commits as much as everyone else, but these last two have pretty rational explanations, don’t they?
  5. So he basically graduate transferred to the #1 team in the world? Thanks for your service, Trevor!
  6. Ok. I should have said all but “premium seating”.
  7. I think we are saying the same thing.
  8. We should never give up on a kid just because he is getting SEC offers. It looks like our coaches are still fighting. That’s encouraging.
  9. I figured they just met at whatever restaurant chain was helping them give away free tickets that week.
  10. If we are being honest, Taggart went off, made a ton of money, and is taking over a conference championship team in the conference he left a long time ago. It isn’t THAT bad.
  11. Off to a good start with 177 viewers.
  12. Didn't Miami already lose to a CUSA team this year? I think La Tech has a shot there. Winning bowl games is what they do.
  13. Exactly what they deserved!
  14. 2 targets. 0 receptions. Did register a tackle (presumably on special teams).
  15. CUSA desperately needs to earn some respect, so we need to be pulling for all of them. Especially FAU. 😉
  16. I hope we get to this someday. But if it had happened this year, I think people would be really, really disappointed with our turnout. Beware the game that is not on the "schedule" that people look at at the beginning of the year. Heck, Memphis only announced 33,000 for the AAC championship. They had almost double that for a regular season game against SMU ealier in the year.
  17. With our luck Dodge would probably turn them into a powerhouse...
  18. IMO giving up on an organized student section was a huge mistake. The “Pit Crew is the late 2000s early 2010s was formidable. SGA played a big role in it too. Then as people graduated and moved on paired with the haplesslness of the Benford era it just fell apart. Even Talons (though they were there on Thursday) do not seem to show up in force anymore.
  19. I never thought I’d get involved in a green brigade debate on here, but so be it. Addressing paragraph by paragraph. #1. It’s about giving the visiting band time to play their Alma Mater for their fans pregame. I think if a team spends the money bringing their band they deserve 90 seconds to play pregame. Sure, I guess they could randomly play it whenever, but that’s not really the same. #2. Maybe. And that’s a fair point. But not every visiting team brings their band so it would not be an every week thing. Saying that “nearly all of them are bad music” is silly and pompous. The idea that the visiting band needs their own announcer to play their Alma Mater is also silly. The Rice PA simply directed the stadiums attention to the Green Brigade to play. #3. While I think it would be cool for NT to play the alma Mater for the visiting fans (ideally as a show of sportsmanship before we heisman pose our way to a 40 point victory) I’m less devoted to that idea. But the reality is almost all of the green brigade could probably sight read it, and practice it one or two times during the week and be fine. Legal issues? Did Lamar sue us for playing their Alma Mater a couple years ago? Pretty sure they didn’t. As far as getting the music charts, I think modern technology provides a few options. #4. Just a difference of opinion.
  20. Uh oh. @CMJ is taking names.
  21. TAMU too...and if I remember right that was during the Benford era.
  22. I mean, yeah, but we had won our last two against the Big 12 in men’s basketball at home. It’s not like we’ve never taken advantage of these opportunities.
  23. We need fans to show up.
  24. Not looking like a very good crowd...
  25. I think it would be cool if we played the other teams Alma Mater. But like I said I am not going to get worked up if we don’t. But if the other team spends the money to bring their band, they absolutely need to be allowed to play it. Of the games we took our band to this year, only rice allowed us to play. We didn’t allow either of the visiting bands to play theirs at Apogee.
