Is it chronic?

This 3-game road swing makes me nervous for some reason. That’s probably just a result of being a North Texas fan for a long time.

Well, we did need WKU to lose at least once (they lost to FAU tonight) considering they have the tiebreaker. I do NOT want to have to play in Bowling Green again. That’s basically a basketball death sentence

Even if we don’t make the tournament, or even if we don’t end up as a 12 seed, I hope this once and for all settles what kind of schedule we should be playing. We were competitive but came up short against all of our top tier opponents, and that STILL gets us enough respect, almost in February, for Lunardi to have us as a 12.

We need to put the banners back up designating the student section. I know that seems like a small thing but I think it will help.

This is helpful info. Unfortunately this forum is a chronic over estimator of butts in seats. If you watch the highlights there are a TON of empty seats in the lower bowl. I’m not trying to disparage the crowd. The atmosphere was the best of the year (other than probably OU). But the arena wasn’t 40% full last night and we have to do better.

This is 100% correct. Unfortunately there’s a large part of our fan base and even a faction on this board that feel otherwise. That it’s someone else’s job. This is college sports. We (the fans) are part of the team. Everyone needs to do their part. If next year we put 30,000 every game in Apogee, 10,000 every game in the Pit. Heck, if we sold out the 1,500 seat soccer stadium every game or the 1,000 seat softball facility every game. You don’t think we would start getting ranked teams? Players want to play in good atmospheres in front of big crowds. Good fan support would transform this program almost immediately.

All the more reason they should be going to games.

We have 200,000 alumni and 40,000 students living within an hour of the arena. Every game should be close to a sell out.

Agree. In all honesty, that entire sideline should be filled with green. Given its proximity to campus our turnout the last two years has been totally embarrassing.

If you pushed everyone in the arena down as close to the floor as they could get, the lower bowl was probably half full.

anyone else vomit a little bit when we mentioned SMU beating Memphis on our postgame show? As far as I’m concerned our radio should act like SMU doesn’t exist unless we are playing them or they’ve experienced an embarrassing defeat.

8 more minutes of effort then a week off. This isn’t a terrible UTEP team.

Announced? Probably high 3s. Actual human beings? Probably about 2k.

Gibson really should have made that layup at the buzzer. Can’t complain about the overall performance though. 20 more minutes of hard work then a week off.

Hate to admit it but the UTEP unis are great.

Just wait to see what happens to the crowds whenever we lose a game. Just one game.

We have held decent late leads in I think all but 2 of these conference games. Incredibly frustrating.

Crowd takes forever to build and no time at all to implode.
