This used to be my position almost verbatim. We haven’t just not won a game. We haven’t scored a goal. And that’s because we play a style that is extremely easy for teams that match us athletically to defend.

Well, Karen took a 5 win team and won 15 games. She has been very successful everywhere she’s been, including Texas.

Can Someone Explain this Cryptic DeLong Tweet to Me?
Mean Green Matt replied to Side.Show.Joe's topic in Mean Green Athletics
Is the implication here that Ok State was trying to get Hope and then she ends up at OU? -
No, I didn’t forget Hedlund. He wins a lot. So much so I think it’s difficult to move on from him, but I’d argue against his being an elite coach. I believe @Travis has some hot opinions on this. His teams simply out-athlete the competition in an inferior conference. It is not really done via compelling soccer. I’ve actually defended him in the past a fair amount, but the continued failure to even score a goal in the NCAA tournament has soured me.

Karen Aston (except maybe Grant Mccasland) is the best coach we’ve had in any sport in the modern era. Rodney Delong is beginning to enter himself into that convo. It’s a shame Karen was only here for a year. Dream scenario would have been 4 years or so of Karen followed by Jalie. Petersen in between decimated the program. Jalie has certainly struggled at times but her tenure has been the best run for the program since she was a player. I will admit on account of who she is, Jalie gets way more benefit of the doubt from me than an outsider would. She isn’t just a former player, she’s arguably the most significant individual in program history. BUT her coaching tenure on its own, while not spectacular, really hasn’t been bad.

Slam dunk hire for them. She will bail at first opportunity but the program will be left in better shape. I’m sure Mike Petersen would love the job once Aston leaves.

The games at SMU should legitimately be included in our season ticket package.

Ortiz shoots -5 and plays himself into contention. Munoz shoots +2 and will miss the cut. -

Munoz with a great close to finish at -3. Ortiz finishes at E, which is not going to be good enough at this course. Needs a good day tomorrow. -
Was raised with it. I’ve never known any different.

Was hoping the update was that Benford had been hired by Western Kentucky.

There aren’t many scholarships to give for the soccer team. Almost all of them are either partial or none at all. Just playing for the love of it.

Darrell was definitely a character.

Because it would be entertaining. And that’s the point.

Not NT related, but VERY disappointed the USGA did not put Koepka and Dechambeau together for rounds 1 and 2.

The Ulnaers win is incredible. Out of nowhere. To being in position to grab a European tour card. Just needs to play solid the rest of the challenge tour season.

We don’t have baseball because we don’t support our teams, generally. Yes, other schools with awful support levels have baseball, but those schools kept the program vs. cutting it like we did. It is enormously easier to NOT start a program than it is to cut a program that already exists.

As terrible a day as you can have making $155k for playing 4 days of golf.
