    My point was neither an indictment nor a defense of Baker. But it is reality. We don’t have many donors and this is going to be a much tougher contract to buy out than Dan Mccarney.

    Best case is the scenario in which the MWC proactively adds to get back into Texas and then holds together. We would have lucked our way into the best non-power conference.

    I agree and also disagree. It does take a lot. We were coming off a 9-win year and a conf championship game loss. We were 4-0 including a win over a “power” team with the most publicized play in NT history. It was a perfect storm. And naturally, we blew it.

    Bennett would seem like a no brainer but probably better to give someone else on the staff an opportunity at an extended interview. You never know what you might find. I would go with Cobbs. I get the total lack of experience but worst thing that could happen is he loses every game. Which we may do anyway.

    Hard pass on the Mccarney interview. I do remember that now. He deserved the ovation for getting the bowl win. Everything after that was pretty miserable though.

    The answer to this is actually yes. Look at the +\- 30k we had against LT in 2018 when they completely burst our bubble. Unfortunately, our fan base is even more fickle than average. It takes an extraordinary run to build it up. And next to nothing to dismantle it.
