  1. That’s a really good point, but I’m pretty dug in at this point so I’m just going to carry on as if it had not been mentioned. Save the Pit!
  2. Well we’d be getting rid of it as our basketball venue. I agree underneath needs work. I’m not convinced it would require major structural changes to improve (which it has been noted would be problematic), but would require the academic side to cede some space, which I’m not totally convinced they wouldn’t do. The reaction to not filling the Pit should be to get more fans in there, not to try and solve the problem by building a smaller arena (yes, I realize that is not the only reason). I’m sure the first response to this will be “but Texas is building a smaller arena”. Good for them. Don’t care. 😃
  3. I think it’s really tough to make a legitimate comparison between the viability of Fouts Field as a venue and that of the Super Pit. I’m quite certain my opinion will ultimately be irrelevant (and deservedly so) but I think the SP is worth saving for a number of reasons, most notably location.
  4. We already have a basketball practice court in the Bonnie Brae complex. The volleyball arena isn’t ideal but at this point hardly a reason to build a new basketball arena in an inconvenient location for student attendance when a perfect fine one is already in place.
  5. Agree. For as disastrous as Dodge’s tenure was, the amazing thing is he was almost certainly the right hire. North Texas football could be in a completely different position right now if, as you said, the administration mandated he leave his guys in Southlake and hire a real college staff.
  6. Coaches are masters of this. He said a lot of words. But none of them were “I’m not taking the job at Texas Tech”. if he does stay at UTSA I hope they give him a massive raise and then completely implodes. Just so they know what that’s like.
  7. My confidential sources tell me Nick Saban is looking for a new challenge after this season. He will take the job at whoever ends up #1 on the bottom 10.
  8. Do we have the stones to boycott?
  9. I don’t know, man. I kind of think an offensive genius would have stepped in and fixed our problems by now. Head coach title or not.
  10. They have to get through Houston first. SMU is an underdog last I saw.
  11. What about our offense screams P5 offensive coordinator?
  12. Seth Littrell to Texas Tech?
  13. In Ellis County. Lol.
  14. With all due respect to Tina, this seems like a bit of a stretch.
  15. @NorthTexasSportsNetworkwith the dark commentary of the day.
  16. Good finish T4 for Munoz. Ortiz withdrew.
  17. 1) it’s just around 17,000 to get to capacity. 2) this doesn’t account for there being nowhere near 13,000 people there yesterday.
  18. That’s really bad.
  19. No one is getting rich on NIL at North Texas. I’d be surprised if more than 25% of them are getting anything at all.
  20. We’d have to spend at least twice as much money as we do now to get ULM level results.
  21. Characterizing it as fully functioning right now is generous.
  22. Ideally the stadium would just be full from The beginning. There looks to be about 15,000 people there at Kansas. It’s embarrassing for them. Notwithstanding the fight their football team put up for 3 quarters.
  23. I have no idea what’s in the Bi-Laws, but seems 9 exiting members could vote to waive the fees.
